Next update on EXP

I'm not saying 220k isnt huge because it is. But I think there are positives in the change as well as negatives.

Basically SE knows that this game is old. The amount of 'new' players, fresh newbs, is not high and won't be ever again. So they have to keep their current playerbase and also try to attract those who have quit for one reason or another. This change benifits the ones who quit (along with the return to vanadiel program) and gives incentive to come back obviously because they lessened one of the reasons many ppl quit.

However I think it benifits the older players trying to level a second/third/fourth etc job as well since it will be faster too. I don't think it was necessary (at least to this extent), but it does have benifits.

I also think that they aren't trying to cater to the "I have 5 jobs at 75" crowd because they have those people so tightly they can do almost anything to you and you will keep playing and they know that. They are focusing on the ones on the fence, and with WoW and EQ2 knocking on the customer's doors they have to.

What are you talking about? You said it, I just understood it.

In the grand scheme of your FFXI "careers", this means nothing. And, it is insisted that the noobs keep missing the point.

You think 300k exp loss means nothing to me? Would it mean nothing to you?

This is corrent.

I don't think it's logical to compare yourself to a level 1 starter in this mess. Compare yourself to the average person who will make it to 75, not someone who for all intents and purposes doesn't stand a chance.

Some people seem like they're tricking themselves into freaking out by comparing themselves to the absolute most extreme it could ever be--you versus some runt with a ? over his head.

It doesn't mean my time is more important than yours, as you thought it did. It means get over it, as I have more than eluded to.
It means shut up, because enough decent discussion has already come of this thread, and for the past 20 pages it's rocketed down the toilet.

Again, that was get over it and shut up. Please don't tell me you got something else from that.

Those who spent all that time before have been rewarded in full. That's the cold hard truth. If you squandered it you squandered it. Being 75 for one year will always have more reward than being 75 for a month.

Again, emphasized, highlighted, and isolated:

75 isn't what it used to be. Be glad you may have had it when it was the game, the life of the game, the domination of the game, and the bread of the game.

I haven't gotten crap out of being 75 except for a couple of merit points which haven't changed anything significant. I could have stopped at 74 and been fine, since I didn't get a reward for 75.

This is the same thread but it has had tons of different conversations in it. They are all on the same topic of the exp change. A change which we just the facts about. What is wrong with talking about it? If you are sick of it, why don't you stop clicking on this thread and reading it? Why don't you follow your own advice and shut up?
We still get some satisfaction, if nothing else, of boredom with the server's down to discuss our own thoughts. And for the most part it is interesting to see how people have so different values from each other.

I haven't gotten crap out of being 75...

Then why would you advocate people paying so dearly for it? Because you paid it and got nothing? Well they'll pay it and get less. I don't know about you, but I would be happy if my kids didn't have to work as hard as I do :(

firestreak. the healer, the destroyer, the "i have to get the last word in" *** guzzling asshat.

My guess from the other thread for 55->56: 12000
Actual TNL: 12800

Not far off.

My advice to shutting up was in reference to your bitching, since that needs clarifying.

Thanks for the advice, Fire. I will gladly leave you to your grumblings.

The only one I see bitching lately is you. I have been ignoring flames to me since it restored to a civil state, and ignoring people who push our discussions into flames. So now I'll have to ignore you I see.

Lately being the key word, and not without reason. Dude, you bitched from the get go and now you are better off because you've reformed? Your still a shit, and twice as bad for knocking me for flaming after you did it yourself...Fucking hypocrite.
At least I waited till this thread really did get intolerably stupid to flame you. I tried to slow things up before when you were flying off the handle. I think Pannda said it best. I yield to her description of you as it embodies your true colors.

Yes, it's because I already got all the exp needed for it. Just because I haven't gotten anything out of being capped, other than no more genkai's, doesn't mean others haven't either. But you saying that 75's already have their rewards is just false, there are plenty of 75's who haven't benefited from it more than being 74.

There is also a difference between your kids and someone who joined 6 months after I did. One is the next generation, the other isn't, so that kind of comparison doesn't really work.

Sounds great, Tons-of-Fun. Consider me on board with that idea.

I knew you'd break first, little bitch. Keep it up, fuck face.
