ok. It's a long read so stop here if you can't be bothered...

Well my mum got taken into hospital last Saturday all she needed was a simple operation on her neck. Well anyway they swab her for MRSA and they tell her she's fine, got no infection at all. On Tuesday they tell her the operation will be done at 9:30AM well I'm at school so I send her a text wishing her all the best. Well she replies at about 10AM, I almost got owned by my teacher for having my phone on but who cares. Well she hasn't had the op done yet so I'm like, ok they'll do it later.

Well I just leave it till I get home and me and my aunt go and see her at 6PM. Still no op done yet. It gets to around 7:30PM when the doctor comes in saying you'll be put to sleep soonish and it'll be done in around 2 hours. Her biggest risk was a silent heart attack from the shock. Well my mums also a diabetic and she was not allowed to eat all of Monday to be ready for the operation and it's now 7:30 and still no food. So you can imagine her feeling very unwell and nervous.

Anyway it gets to 9PM still no op. Visiting times are well over by now but I thought fuck it, I'm not leaving her at all. So it gets to 11PM and my mums tells me to go home. I have to leave because I was so tired doctor was moaning at me and my mum wanted me to go. If it was up to me I would have stayed. So I tell her to call me or text me when she's feeling well so she can put my mind at rest. Well I get no call a 3AM and I decide to go to bed.

I wake up to my phone ringing and it's my mum. She said they told her at 4AM that the op wont be happening and gave her a slice of toast and some jam. I'm pissed off and not in the mood for school but I tell her to ring me whenever she hears any news. I get a call at 4 and she tells me they did the operation...

But they did it in fucking bed in the middle of a ward. The bed that has not be changed for 3 fucking days. They put all their tools on her hospital bedside table which they never even cleaned and just started. I get in and fall asleep before I even get a chance to see her. I was so fucking tired I never even got to see her. Well anyway I wake up at 11PM to a phone call from my mum saying that she's now got MRSA. I just cry.

They moved her to another ward and treat her there. It's next day (Thursday) and I'm at school... I was seriously considering bunking and going straight to the hospital instead. But I knew that would piss her off so I went to school. I cried at school it was so hard I was just trying to find a empty room to sit in so no one would find me. I did and I stayed in that room till lunch and then went straight to the hospital with my brother.

we get there and they tell us it's only on her skin. So she'll be fine as long as they keep her immune system high enough to fight it off. I calm down a little thinking she may be fine.

Anyway Friday comes and I go straight there at lunch again. I then get told by another nurse that's its in her open wound. I asked them when did they find this out? She says Thursday morning, they fucking lied to our face to cover their backs. My dad comes in threatening to sue em for all their worth and bang. Next day (Saturday, today) she can all of a sudden come home?

What are they doing? Someone with MRSA in there system is coming home right after we threaten them to sue. funny that

Sorry for any Typos I'm a little angry while typing never a good thing.

Its not the NHS mate,l its government and their cuts to save money. If they actually do what they fucking promised before they got into power and actually put money into health care and not take money out then there would be no shit in the NHS. But thanks to the thick shits that are the government the NHS are dangerously short staffed, under trained, over worked and under equipped.

yeah. You might be right. My mum's drip couldn't even be changed yesterday morning because of the staff not being qualified to change it...

Well my mum is a Nurse at my local hospital and shes quite high up (as in runs wards etc) the amount of shit that gets pushed her way is unbeliveable. Shes usually on a certain ward which is ment to have 6-8 staff members on over night. Shes lucky if she gets 3 (including herself) and then at least 1 of them isnt usually qualified to do anything.

It's just real upsetting tho. I'm more scarred when she's in hospital then when she's at home. It's bad tho something needs to be done.

Something has been needing to be done about it for years mate but nothing wont be done until one of their family members are in there and see how shit it is for themselves. Its human nature not to do anything about stuff until you personally are affected. I mean you realise now something needs doing and that the NHS has just become complete shit because of cut backs and "money saving" schemes, but did you before your mum went into hospital?

Even though its in the papers every week not enough people know about the true state its in and the people that do are just apathetic towards the whole matter.

The thing is I never did bother. My mum always went with Bupa but because she's so ill they wont take her on anymore. And now they wont let anyone in our family in with private health care. So were stuck now.

Anyway she came home on Saturday. She now has to go to a clinic everyday for 30 days. Which is a bit of a piss take, but if it's to make her better then more for it I suppose. She went to her first clinic meeting thingy today and they were surprised that we ain't taken any action against the NHS yet. But we just want it over and I don't think my dad wants to go through everything what with his pregnant catholic sister crying on the phone everyday.... Stupid religion.
