Basically, the "MyDream" room is an area in the game where other players can interact with one another via Wi-Fi. The room can be customized by the actions you carry out throughout playing NiGHTS:JoD in Story Mode. The Room allows you to chat and interact with your captured Nightopians / Nightmaren gained in the game.

The best way to describe this room? Think of it like Sonic Adventure's "Chao Garden" feature.

You can also Battle and Race as NiGHTS and Reala in online WFC Battles and compete for standings in the overall World Rankings.

Feel free to share your friend codes.

Or you could say Sonic Adventure's Chao Garden was like NiGHTS: Into Dreams...'s A-Life D:
Anyway, I didn't know this was out. I'll probably pick it up come new years.

How is this game anyway?
Was really excited when I heard it announced, but haven't heard *anything* about it since, even that it was released.

You want my honest opinion? I give it a 7.5 or an 8 out of 10.

It's a good game, but it's not "awesomely mind-blowing".

I bought it because I played the original "NiGHTS into Dreams" on Sega Saturn, and it took them 11 years to finally pump out a sequel.

Like most Sonic Team games nowadays. The FMVs are bad-ass and look gorgeous, but the gameplay itself is a bit lacking. Also, the soundtrack is just as bad-ass as the first NiGHTS game.

Length? Well, it's only slightly longer than the original NiGHTS.

This game is alot like "Zone of the Enders" on PlayStation 2. A good game that's too short. It'll take you about 5 to 6 hours to beat it, tops. But the gimmick is the game doesn't try to get you to keep playing because of the length, but rather, because of the unlockables and replay value.

I was shocked when they decided to give NiGHTS and Reala voice acting. Damn near everyone has an English accent in this game. The game has a Peter Pan feel to it, instead of helping out two 15 year old kids named Elliot Edwards and Claris Sinclair in the fictional town of "Twin Seeds"... Instead you're helping two 12 year olds named Will Taylor and Helen Cartwright in the fictional city of "Bellbridge". In the original NiGHTS the centerpiece was the Skyscraper in Twin Seeds that resembled the Empire State Building... In this game, it's kind of an Allegory to Peter Pan because NiGHTS acts like a carefree spirit (and is voiced by a perky British chick) that leads children off to a Fantasy World, and the centerpiece of the city is a Clocktower that mysteriously resembles "Big Ben"...

I feel the graphics could've been smoothed down. After watching "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Pokemon Battle Revolution", I know what the Wii is graphically capable of. Sonic Team / SEGA aren't pushing the Wii to its limits like they should, which is a Let-Down for me. Also, during cutscenes, the Framerate is choppy as hell.

Also, if you play this game... Do NOT play using the Wii Remote. You're gonna drive yourself bonkers if you do that. Use either Remote + Nunchaku, or Classic Controller / Gamecube Controller.

Overall. The game was a good buy. The bosses are actually harder to beat than the last game. Storyline-wise, this game isn't really a sequel to NiGHTS... It's basically a re-telling. They completely scrapped the old storyline and started fresh. The original game has no relevance to this one.

It's a pleasant little addition to your Wii library, but I expect only die-hard Sonic / NiGHTS fans would appreciate the hell out of it. They were starved for a NiGHTS sequel for so long.

Since nobody on QCDN seems to own this game besides me, I decided to explore the "MyDream" and "2P Battle" functions a bit more.

There's some replay value to this game.

You can enter the "MyDream" of a friend, or a completely random person. And you can also Race and Battle with a friend or a completely random person.

NiGHTS even has a "World Ranking System" to see who's the best in all of Nightopia. Currently, I'm ranked at #285--There about 800+ people or more I know who're online in the overall rankings.

I raced with a few people and moved up into the rankings.

Remember, Smash Bros. Brawl will have online matches and world rankings. Think of NiGHTS as a Prelude to this.

As far as online matches in NiGHTS goes... It's actually pretty smooth. There's just about no latency issues and the races move pretty fast.

Another good incentive for getting this game.

I just had to jump on this one first chance I got ^^

I'm going to cry if I can't have this soon. I'm going to go play some original Nights to get in some practice.

I would certainly hope so, Nintendo isn't one to separate players, and that'd be one more QCDN'er to mess around with on wifi ^^

I have the japanese one, suppose it links up :o?

It does. In the world Rankings so far, I'm Rank 90 in the online races.

BTW, Gat. I added you on the thread and in the game.

I saw this game, picked it up, had a long thought process and put it down.

Is this something a new NiGHTS player would enjoy? I'm very picky when it comes to what I play, The only reason I picked it up was when I saw "Sonic Team". I looked at some pictures of game play.. and it just looks too blocky for my standards, Least for a Wii title.

Thoughts?

Read my post in the first page of this thread.

=P so this is basically a remake instead of a sequel?

=P so this is basically a remake instead of a sequel?

Honestly? That's what it feels like to me.

It feels like a "re-imagining" of the original NiGHTS. You have a "Museum" level, a "Spring Valley" type level, a "Beach" type level, a "Stick Canyon" type level.

The format's not the same, but they have the same theme.

Personally, I think it's not so much a "Sequel" as it is a "Remake".

And after beating 3 worlds on each character, the last stage is flying over the city at nighttime. In the first NiGHTS, the city was "Twin Seeds". In this one, the city is "Bellbridge".

The game has two Easter Eggs.

Get an "A" Rank on all missions, and in the Sound Test mode, you can play the OST from the original NiGHTS into Dreams game.

Collect all 60 Dream Drops, and you can play a "Re-Skin" of the main characters that makes them look like Claris Sinclair and Elliot Edwards from the original NiGHTS.

How is this game? A must buy or rental?
I've played and beat the SegaSaturn version long time ago.
Any difference?

Again. Read the first page. If anything, it's more like a "re-imagining".

Also, as far as Remakes go. SEGA is remaking the original Sega Saturn version and putting it on Japanese PlayStation 2 only.
