Nin Question

You really suck if you need that 5 accuracy at 75, especially on top of all of the other gear that gives it and when you're eating sushi. Hauby effortlessly beats out Shura/Koga for weapon skills, but for melee I'd go for Shura/koga easily. The other benefits of shura/koga are they don't kill your evasion rate; while that's not very significant by the point you can wear them, you're still not hurting your chances any more than you have to.

Hell, even taking "your advice" and looking at other ninja's, they're all wearing shura or koga if they have it, hauby if they don't. So you're wrong either way.

Um, you can speak for yourself but this isn't what I would use. I would go Hauby +1. I'll take your Decidence Parse thread and raise you a Rukenshin :p http://rukenshin.livejournal.com/14854.html#cutid1
NIN hurt out by not having an acc + JA. I put quite a bit of acc + into my WS when using Sushi and its not like I'm landing close to 100% on my WSes.

Everyone knows fashion > function! wth! AF2! ROFL

This rukenshin link is really cool evan, thanks for the read

I walk around it town in my AF2 body because I like the way it looks more, but when I get out to a merit party I start using my Hauby +1. I also see a lot of NIN's walking around town in a Chiv Chain and Meleeing in STR rings. Just because you see other NIN's doing it dosen't mean it is necessarily right. Compared to other strong Melee jobs NIN's need quite a bit of acc + to make up for the lack of acc + JA (I even use acc + rings on my WAR when Aggressor is down).

Yeah, that one is a little old, but a lot of the gear still applies. I mean, now he is using a Mars ring on his melee jobs and he also has Perdu and stuff now that weren't available when this guide was out. But, I am 100% positive that both Byrnie and Hauby were out when this guide was made, and he was using Hauby (and he can no doubt afford Byrnie +1 if he wanted it). He is considered to be one of the better NIN's across servers, at least more widely known that Decidence.

I wonder if he has relic now, kikoku/perdu would be nasty stuff

If his nin is that good and it's not even his main i'd hate to see his SAM. >_>

If you just click on his name it will take you to his Livejournal, somewhere up there he has a post about SAM guide and gear, and if you are interested some info about their LSes few AV kills and some other useful info. His GF has a decent WHM and BRD guide (she has relic horn), but I've found some other ones that I think are a little better than hers.

Who the hell chooses less attack over more acc for meleeing?
What? Who said they wanted less attack and less accuracy?

We're not talking about weapon skills anymore, we're talking about meleeing, please try to keep up next time.

What you wear in-town is completely irrelevant, I wear my Melee gear in town just because I like the look, doesn't mean I use it for parties. I'm talking about seeing people actually doing something, that much should be obvious.

I'm also not the one who said to look to what every other NIN wears to decide what gear to wear, that was Zoolander. Please address the correct person next time.

And yeah, city gear shouldn't be a nod to what anyone wears when on the job.

Baj, I had the same reaction at first, but I realized his hand and feet gear aren't applicable. (Nor is the whole Mars's Ring, but he comments on before that, and on Potent Belt for WSs before the Relic GKT.)

I think that since Amanomurakumo has a lower delay than Hagun, he uses the higher Store TP from JSE gloves rather than JSE feet. Obviously for Delay 450 one would use Hachiman Sune-Ate (+1) and either Dusk or Bandomusha or such. But that's just my interpretation.

Edit: He has parses, outdoes Spharai BB >_>;;

Baj, I do melee in Hauby +1. So do plenty of NIN's. If you read the post directly under the one you responded to you'll see me say that I do melee in it. I don't see any real benefit of meleeing in Af2 or Shura Togi other than the 20 evasion difference, but with +20% haste you don't really need that 20 evasion anyway. If you want to increase your melee output it would be best to use Hauby +1 in my opinion.

Edit for more info: I don't melee in Hauby +1 exclusively. In some situations where the mobs have low evasion or VT and below I use Ninja Chainmail +1 to TP in and Hauby +1 to WS in. But in many merit camps such as Greater Colibris and Mammols I pretty much stick with the Hauby +1 on TP and WS.

You have yet to actually make any kind of arguement as to why Shura or AF2 would ever be better than Hauby+1 for DDing, except that "I must suck" If I prefer 5 acc over 5 attack, and that the -evasion is some ground breaking stat for DDing.

So why is AF2 or Shura better than Hauby+1 for DDing? Obviously you know more about Ninja than me, being that you have 292 Katana skill and years of end game ninja experience under your belt. I'd love to see how you justify 5 attack > 5 acc, or 1 attack > 3 acc. Please. Enlighten me.

Edit: I'd also like to QFT this. Stouter got this spot on.

In any situation where Byrnie wins over Haub, AF(+1) chainmail beats them both. If you don't need the accuracy boost, the 7-9% more swings will do more than the ~5% attack. Byrnie is useless to ninja, even the +1. AF, haub, SH (for evasion build), arhat's (tanking), and on the rare occasion osode (for the INT/MND reducing magic damage) makes for the best piece for every situation.

Ok, let's go back to kindergarden, where we learned that one number is bigger than another.

I said you must suck if you NEED that 5 accuracy, not if you prefer it. At that level of gear it's obviously going to be nothing but a personal opinion. My accuracy is fine for me, so I prefer to hit a little harder rather than an incredibly small increase in overall accuracy. If you have a problem hitting(that's where you suck at 75), 5 accuracy is better, but if you're not having a problem hitting, 5 attack is better; I don't have a problem hitting, therefore the accuracy isn't beneficial. This is basic game mechanics, but you need me to explain it to you?

Try learning to actually read what people say rather than just skim for a few key words and then guess what their post was about; since that's all you've done in this thread so far. That's even further shown since you somehow think I said the -evasion is a big deal; even though I've clearly said exactly the opposite twice now.

Hell, you've yet to actually prove anything yourself. Evanos has done leaps more than you ever have to disprove that Decidence info I mentioned. You're whining about it not being correct, but then don't show how. Now you whine that you've been a ninja for longer(who cares) and that seems to make you think it automatically makes you the god of all things ninja. You might know more than me(not by that much I'd bet), but you're not bothering to prove anything, just saying it's better because you said so.

I at least gave a source for my post and admitted that it's information is likely out of date by this point. You've done nothing.
