Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

I just don't think MS would be a silent partner in a PS3 game, specially if it'll have more content than the 360 version. I mean shit Halo 3 would make them more cash than NG2 if that's their new business plan. The return you make is proportional to the game's value.

So we can throw this Sales thing right out the window...

Ninja Gaiden Sigma sold 450k on the PS3. Now that could be considered a failure, but the game is just a port anyways so full development may not have been needed.

Ninja Gaiden II sold 1M on the 360. Thats a success, regardless of the game.

Sigma sold 500k copies from last August, that's the requirement to make a Playstation greatest hits. Black sold 2 million copies which is most likely the reasoning behind Sigma's sales status. Neither of them got the public shafting like NG2 did.

Ninja Gaiden II was published by MS... Now think about it... A company which makes such a small profit out of Japan.. Does Strids idea really make no sense to anyone but Strid and myself? Why wouldnt MS allow this game to be ported to PS3 for a slice of the pie? The games main market is Japan no?

Microsoft paid for the development of NG2 is all. They never bought out the rights to Ninja Gaiden, if they did we would have heard about it then. It's known that Microsoft has offered big money to Nintendo for Metroid and Nintendo turned them down for it. Ninja Gaiden I think is Tecmo's biggest hope, cause their other games suck ass in comparison.

We have no proof they are getting a slice of the pie and no proof they are not. All we can say is that example makes the most sense... Why else would they let a MS published game go multiplat? Any other reason sounds more distant to me.

I don't see why Microsoft would support NG2 going to PS3. The PS3 version is already bound to be superior in terms of what the system will be able to access off the disc. Then there will be other headlines of what else could not be done on the X360. It's a lot of work but maybe they'll give Sigma II a nicer hardware render so it can at least match Sigma's finish. With the extra space for game development, maybe this time NG2 will actually have an intro aside from the extra chapters which in this case would require more stages due to the nature of NG2.

Microsoft is a multi-billion dollar cooperation. I don't think they would find it worth while to dither away their image over some peanuts.

If there is friction between Tecmo and Microsoft over this. Then Microsoft will lose some of it's system selling power. Personally I hate DOA, but apparently it does have a pretty large fan base and if that goes back to Sony only, then Microsoft would take a hit from that.

For me it's not important if Sigma II does better, or even well for that matter, so long as i get my copy. Devil may Cry, Heavenly Sword, and God of War series are all soggy compared to Ninja Gaiden. I love my action adventures and Gaiden is all there is left for me these days.

This whole discussion is pointless due to zero facts.

Ant.. You are a smart guy. Please stop saying NG2 got a public shaft.. The game sold a freaking million copies! Dude come on. Any DMC game from the series could do 1Mil in its sleep yes.. But for a NGaiden game to hit over 1 mil is great.

You are thinking about this as if the 360 has a long life left. As if MS should care about a game that is not technically impressive or graphically impressive coming out a year later on the PS3 with more sheen and more rubber like textures. Why not make extra money? For sure extra money in Japan. A market were MS almost doesnt exist in gaming.

We can call out a companies worth all we want but there is proof in the pudding. Ms and Sony are both hurting due to the recession as their layoffs show. I think ruling out any extra money is silly atm.

But you see, Halo is a system seller. I'm not sayin' you need to do this with your system pushers, just the little fish. If MS did this with Halo and Gears they'd indeed be likely to loose business the next go around when it comes time for people to get the new consoles. So really, even though they'd gain money for the now, they'd loose the money later on somethin' even bigger.

Either way, since they (MS) paid for initial development, even if Tecmo has paid them back for it they're still a partner for the game even if it turns out they don't see a dime of it. That's why this is big news after all. We're all just spoutin' opinions. The only fact that is out there now is that a game MS paid for is headin' to the PS3.

It's kind of like this. Let's say I invest 100k to help a buddy start up his business. His business grows and is successful and he pays me back. My initial investment is what made him able to succeed in the first place. He could have gotten it from elsewhere but he didn't. Without the money lent to him, he would have nothin' more than he already did. His success ultimately came down to his own hard work but without the initial investment he wouldn't have been able work hard on his nonexistent business.

Like I said earlier, it's goin' to be interestin' to see how this plays out, no matter what the outcome is. I'm not vocal about this because I prefer my 360 over my PS3. It's just because this could turn out to be somethin' big, like less exclusives and more timed exclusives which could even pave the road to no more exclusives except for the big titles. This can only lead to positives, imo, even if my initial thoughts are wrong.

Technically MS did do this with Gears, HaloCE and Halo 2. They after a set period of time, ported these games and many other HUGE exclusive games over to the PC. They continued to make money from the game sales there.

Now the PC is not another console in competition but Ms doesn't own the PC market. Their OS software is the leader in the area but still...

It is similar.

The technology being used wouldn't matter as much as the content of the game, it's why Chronotrigger Resurrection got shut down. Completely different technology, but the exact same content, so it's the same game which SE had the rights to.

Didn't MS make Halo a Vista exclusive to force people to upgrade, and instead it had virtually no sales at all?

I cant seem to get pc sales info that even close to accurate atm. I would think the game sold fine for 3 years after release. Was it longer then that?

personally im very happy to hear this. i expected them to make a PS3 version after playing sigma. i love NG games and now that the PS3 is getting one i dont have to buy an lolXbox to play it. :)

Coop just wouldnt work well for me in this game. I guess it would be fun for a little just because its new, but this is a single player game and should stay that way.

Some new bosses, 3 playable characters and online coop just dont make this special enough for me to purchase it again.

If you never had the 360 version and are up for a challenge then the game will be fun until you submit to it.

EDIT: I wanted to add wtf happened to all the blood and limbs? The blood was substituted with this purple streak BS.

Checked further and on the previews of the game everyone is saying the games violence has been seriously reduced. That seals it for me above what ever they add to the game. I will not play this lol.

Nice Gerry. I never expected to see any type of footage so early.

I liked how they pointed out the graphical upgrade to be impressive "so far". That goes to show Team Ninja is working on making it look better than what we've seen there.

Although I'd rather fly solo in Sigma II, it would be an interesting twist to have a side kick tagging along side for some chat and mash. Only ting is, anyone who plays this with me has to be close to equal or greater in skill than I am, or else I'll probably feel unhappy with co-op.

The limbs thing I'm sure is still present. In the trailer that large fiend he was smashing had one arm left, and when a limb is missing that is when we're able to deliver the OT's (Obliteration techniques), which is part of how Gaiden II is played.

The trailer had a little blood in it, probably for tech or public display reasons, Ninja Gaiden is some of the best ultra violence in gaming, i seriously doubt they would remove the bloodshed. Even if they did take out the blood upon it's release, I'd still enjoy it for it's supreme action.

I like violence, but I also like superior fx hmmm... I question the reliability of coop as well... gameplay is very tight and any lag makes impossible. I'd probably pick the PS3 version since bloods not that big a deal but not worth upgrading. Maybe at $20.

I would agree with that. At a lower price i would try it out.

Like I said earlier, it's not the same thing, imo. The market's for PC systems and consoles should not be compared with either other. It's like sayin' Mars and Earth are the same thing just because they are planets. To get technical though, the OS of a PC, if you consider them differently than me, would be the console.

Like I've also said, it's just good business. When a games sales dry up, do an easy port, and sell the game again to fresh batch of people to make a cheap buck. Halo and Gears goin' to the PS3 would make a totally different scenario, on the PC they aren't even a .01% threat to the Xbox name.

BUMP! Release is very soon. Demo coming next week. Video editor included in the game of sorts.

Also, it seems that Team Ninja have actually managed to work out how to do near perfect coding for the PS3, as apparently the game can be played in 1080p resolution with MSAA (or MSAAx2, I forget which one ;P) all while running at 60FPS.

Yes, this will have an install, but it will be quite possibly be the best idea for an install ever.

Anyone else getting this game on release?

I'll be getting my copy shortly after 6:00 PM on September 29th. As much as I personally love this game, I don't see it being sold out on day 1, but just to be on the safe side I really should reserve a copy.
