Because i'm a huge fan Ninja Gaiden and the console war, i want to make a comparrison thread for Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden 2 with what we have seen so far. Yes i'm with PS3 over 360, but the XboX also has Ninja Gaiden, so this isn't favourtism to say the least. It's speculation, yet things have gotten too calm wouldn't you say.

First i'll mention i and alot of other fans of this game is not too thrilled with the NG2 demo at the TGS. Hopefully Team Ninja will address such issues, and return Ryu's roll to say the least. Still it's only a demo, and not even finished.

Some say NG2 looks better than Sigma even though NG2 has only been sampled to us through compresed video. There is no doubt that NG2 could end up looking better, but it's hard to imagine it doing so.

The developers that say it’s too hard to develop for the PS3 and complain about it are missing the point. It sounds like an excuse to the consumer to us.

It’s not so much that we brought the game over to the PS3 as it is we more or less are recreating Ninja Gaiden with the most up-to-date graphic techniques in order to take advantage of the hardware. In order to have this be a great experience for both people who are new to the series as well as those who’ve enjoyed it since the beginning, we want to provide an experience that looks totally new and fresh. One of the best ways to do that was to have a game that runs at a 1080p with a constant 60 fps, and utilizes real-time self-shadowing.

No other game as accomplished all three of these goals at once.

As far as A.I. goes people have played our game before will see that we’ve made some subtle improvements. A lot of it has to do with using all the Cell’s SPU processors.

We wanted to make sure that Ninja Gaiden Sigma consisted of the greatest graphics and greatest action engine you'd see in any game out there. We wouldn't have been able to accomplish this goal without the power of the PS3 hardware.

Team Ninja is pro XboX, and obviously Ninja Gaiden is their flag ship. Money aside even they wanted to make a grand gesture on the best hardware in the console world.

Finding out Sigma's actual size on disc has proven challenging for me. For the sake of research I did find what claims to be a torrent for Sigma which is 11.5 gigs compressed. The uncompressed image file for Sigma lives on a Blue Ray Disc. Ninja Gaiden 2 will be on a DVD9. Granted the Xenos in the 360 can eat the RSX in the PS3. But if NG2 is to have a fair amount of content, then the NG2 disc, like MOST 360 games, will not be able to supply the 360 with what the GPU needs to deliver what we'd exspect from the current generation visually.

Sigma and NG2 will figurativly be an exposure in terms of what we get out of the PS3 and 360. Even though my personal expectations for NG2 is low, i Still hope it'll be an awesome addition, for now things are looking very grim for it in terms of game play, the enviroments are nice to say the least. The Demo had enemies standing around just waiting to get beat down and shit, made me feel depressed, unlike Ninja Gaiden Black in the XboX1 where you get to atleast act like a Ninja when soloing groups of enemies.

maaaaaan, Ninja Gaiden's come a long way. Anyone remember that climby wall technique where ya had to jump right then slide the arrow back left quick like? best i can describe that...lol, that was a major improvement in 2, to freely climb walls.

aaaaaand unless i read that post wrong, is late, could have, but it seems to me, that the ps3 is gonna take the old xbox game, and make it look nicer than the new 360 one, ya?

The thing about the NES Ninja Gaiden that burned me the most is, making it to the last boss then dying with no continue.

Look nicer than the 360 version is the question.... If Ninja Gaiden 2 can look so much better with less data storage, that would be amazing. The modeling in that gameplay demo is very nice. But it's still lacking some attributes to match Sigmas appearance.

Ninja Gaiden Black on the XboX is surpreme. The one on PS3 is pretty much the same game, except they gave it a facelift and added 20 or so new details to it. Some may complain or gossip about it, but for people who still play Ninja Gaiden like myself, this is too good.

worrying about disc size on the 360 is pretty much in the past since the harddrive required tag was announced.

The Ultimate in comparrison i think. Same company making the successor on the rival system.

Team Ninja likes to state how the games they make are especially designed for the hardware it's made for. So there are a few new tech images of Ninja Gaiden II on the 360 and sadly it still looks like Wii Graphics. It has decient geometry to say the least. But as we know it, no game ever matches it's tech images.

Now Wii Graphics arn't nessarily bad. It just lacks what one would expect from a console that's supose to deliver what people bought it for.

We're talking about Ninja Gaiden 2 here, which is supose to atleast match Sigma's status.

Digital camera shot counts for indirect imagery and it still looks nice.

NG2 being an XboX360 exclusive is due to the fact Microsoft is publishing it themselves. Lots of power but alot of content will be left out as the game will be cramed on a DVD. Personally of all games i wish Microsoft kept their dollar off of this franchise, Still i can't wait to try out NG2.

The difference between Sigma and NG2, is that Sigma was made with love, and took advantage of the PS3 hardware. Sure Temco makes more money by taking a whoop ass game and tweaking it to a finer degree. The point in the matter is Sigma is the first of it's kind in the current generation, and only the PS3 was able to make it so.

My personal prediction for Sigma and NG2 is...

- The hardcore Ninja Gaiden players will continue to do Karma runs in Sigma over NG2. (From what they showed us, NG2 dosn't look as fun)

- Game reviews will give it a good score, and frown on it's over all appearance in comparrison to Sigma.

- From a hardware standpoint, it will not deliver the magnitude of processing that gives Sigma it's nice finish. (Plus the XboX360's HDMI cable is at a lower standard)

- Japanese reviews will most likely give NG2 lower scores.

In this console war, i think the Ninja Gaiden franchise will be a most revealing factor in terms of system/media capabilities upon the release of NG2.
