I have a question about ninjutsu and lvl 85+ monsters and was wondering if anyone has info on this.

Which stave if any helps ninjutsu accuracy and potency? After I finish merits I will have a ninjutsu skill of 308 and when I finally have sea access I will be able to raise it to 313 skill lvl with the stealth earring (not bothering with the cape).

Is a 308-313 ninjutsu skill capable of reliably landing ninjutsu on Gods or is the stealth earring not worth the 75 ancient beastcoins? And are there any modifiers for the skill (rumors I have heard is the INT effect it but not sure)?

I am going to list current casting ninjutsu gear and any recommendations would be nice.

Merits: 8/8 ninjutsu

Weapon- Stave???
Head - Ninja Hatsburi
Body - Arhat Gi +1 (for kiting) - recommendation (yasha)?
Hands - ??? (yasha?)
Legs - Byakko Haidate (yasha?)
Feet - Koga Kyahans
Neck - Ninjutsu Torque
Earring - Ninjutsu Earring
Earring - Stealth Earring (Is it worth it for HNMs?)
Waist - koga sarashi
Rings - Int?
Rings - Int?
Ammo - Int? (Phantom Talthum maybe?)

Thank you for your help,
Lews

In answer to your first question, the elemental staff will vary based upon what spell you are casting.
Terra's Staff for Hojo,
Pluto's Staff for Kurayami,
Aquillo's Staff for Jubaku,
and if you use it, Neptune's Staff for Dokumori.

If you are going for ultimate land ratio, which still will be below 50% on most gods the ultimate ideal setup I believe would be:

Weapon: Appropriate HQ staff
Grip: Bugard Strap +1
Ammo: Phantom Tathlum
Head: Ninja Hatsuburi
Neck: Ninjutsu Torque
Ear1: Stealth Earring
Ear2: Ninjutsu Earring
Body: Usukane Haramaki (a more affordable option is Yasha Samue +1/NQ)
Hand: Not many good options in this slot, so I would go with dusk/koga
Ring1: some INT ring
Ring2: Another INT ring
Back: Astute Cape
Waist: Koga Sarashi, possible INT belt.
Legs: I'd just go w/ Byakko's
Feet: Koga Kyhan +1/NQ

While that set would give you the best land ratio, its not always the most practical. I mean, I carry a full ninjutsu set around with me at all times, but carring around INT rings isn't very practical, and I don't have too many uses for a Yasha body etc. Also when I'm on NIN I don't usually carry around a stack of HQ staves, but if you went up to sky trying to land on gods maybe it would be practical to you.

Here's what I usually use when I'm trying to land ninjutsu, though most of the time when I cast I'm trying to pull hate rather than land.

Edit: I forgot to bring my merman's ring for this screenshot, generally when I'm going for land ninjutsu I try to do ninjutsu skill > haste > emnity.

Hope this helped a little.

No offense, but why even bother trying to land ninja debuffs on HNMs/gods(aside from enmity, but there's other ways to get that)? They're all the same spells as the ones a rdm/whm could cast, but rdm's are usually already geared for it and you wouldn't have to change off your enmity/haste/evasion/agi/parrying gear. I'm just curious why you'd go to that level of effort when there's other jobs out there who'd be better at it anyways.

I've never had to use it in a situation such as gods for example, but I actually do bust out my ninjutsu set a lot while soloing and on very low man situation claims before other jobs arrive. Its pretty situational, but can be of some use.

For soloing, I can easily see using them; but you don't try to solo a level 85 mob on ninja. I was asking about the use during endgame fights, which is where you'd fight mobs of that level.

Mistra essentially solo'd my WSNM which I think are 85+ ^.-

Yea yea... I know... not what you're getting at lol.

Most of the WS NM's are wimps, they're just in annoying spots.

RDMs can't reliably land enfeebles on Gods. If a NIN could land them at 50% it would be a viable option, because even with good accuracy gear, a RDM will only land around 10%.

In saying that, people have been killing unenfeebled Gods for years without problems.

Wait, forgive me for my ignorance, but don't you get hate even if it resists? SO wouldn't more emnity gear be better and try, try again?

Yeah, you do get hate even if you get resisted. For hate emnity + > ninjutsu, but from what I understand he's wanting to land ninjutsu on the gods.

Not a bad idea

If he is not a main tank for the gods i think it would make sense to land some enfeebles to help the Group take the god/hnm/sea NM down faster. Most players use mutli sets anyway. So swapping in to help enfeebles when he is not the Player in control of the god hurts no one. Paladins often cast flash and use rampart of their main Tank just to help that player out. The best teams try to think about what can be done to help the whole not just one aspect.

I'm at 7/8 ninjutsu merits with 10k exp to 8/8.. and I just did Genbu with 7 people for a RL friend.. I landed Kurayami like 1/8, yes it did give some hate even when I didn't land it but... lol whats the point for ninjutsu on things like gods?

Now on the other hand, A friend and I duo Despot, and it is one of the greatest helps to land Kurayami and have a full evasion gear set with me. I don't bother with INT nor do I have the relic mask that ups the damage of ninjutsu, but just the simple fact of being able to land hojo, kurayami etc on mobs around lv 80 is very helpful. Gods.. is just a waste of time imo.

Good Luck though if you bust out the :San wheel on gods for like 200 per San spell, I'd definitely wanna see that ^^

also... 75 ABCs for that earring is ridiculous!! no way would should u spend 750k (if 10k per coin) on 5 ninjutsu skill just to test enfeebs on gods that go down super easy anyways.

This was really a question just to find out some facts and store for later use.

My question more deals with the fact that I am a kirin kiter for my LS and I have only successfully landed blind on Kirin once (no real ninjutsu gear at the time and only 1 merit). This really was just a good to know type post since I would like to land more ninjutsu on kirin if possible, while I know that Kirin is extremely resistant to enfeebs I was wondering if it was worthwhile really for stealth earring and If with a skill lvl of around 308 whether I would notice a significantly lower resist rate.

The other reason I was wondering is with Kirin and Byakko my acc sucks since I am both Elvaan and a Ninja for sky. I have 8/8 katana merits and around +48 acc and eat sushi and I still miss both these mobs around 50% of the time. So I was pondering possibly trying the elemental wheel but it sounds like they will get resisted a significant amount.

Thank you for your replys.

Edit: To Olrox - I also dual fight/hold NM demons in Dyna-Xarc so any more enfeebs that the other nin or I can land on the demons is worth 75 ABCs.

Lews i was thinking the same thing myself. Iso will probably have me start showing up NIN instead of SMN now, so i too was wondering if meriting the San spells and the skill for gods would be useful or not.

I have 310 Ninjutsu skill currently with no HQ staves or INT gear and I can land maybe 50% on Dynamis Xarcabard NMs and a very low percentage on Sky gods. I can tank Sky gods fine w/o enfeebles with a decent sized Alliance but if you are low manning them I'm sure that extra 10 skill from the Cape and earring from Sea which is all that I'm missing would be a big help. I myself would'nt bother with Elemental staves or INT gear due to storage space. Also they needed to add more macro lines, not a million macro palettes....

How is that possible to have such a difference in landing percentages? I would have assumed skill was the only main form of accuracy on an enfeeble, spell or otherwise and RDM have access to quite a bit more enfeebling skill than a NIN does ninjutsu. Would that perhaps mean ninjutsu is naturally more accurate?

Do you really think SE wants Gods to, for instance, be paralyzed locked to hell? That's why enfeebles miss so much.

When Paralyze does land it doesn't happen very often but it does help. If you wanted to lock a God just get a couple NIN/DRK tanks and have them stun lock the mob along with your BLMs, DRKs and whatever else maybe subbing DRK if they are available. Of course you couldn't do this for Kirin but for the other Sky gods it's possible.

Even if they do land, it's extremely unlikely paralyze will proc often. The difference in level and probably a lack of MND on our part would make the proc rate very weak. The real desire would most likely to land slow and blind which give some effect versus that of paralyze.

As for accuracy, I'd say that's probably just typical. Kirin is one of the highest level mobs in the game and a NM as well which means his evasion is massive compared to everything else. Byakko, the same thing, but he's also a THF type mob and a tiger to top it off which means his evasion/agi is also up there. The only thing you can do is stack on more acc/dex and get a BRD to give madrigal as well.
