So my fabulous boyfriend bought me one of these for Christmas (I've always loved Super Mario) and it came with a Super Mario World game. Any suggestions on other games I should buy? I'm already going to buy Super Mario Kart and Zelda but are there any others of like style play? Keep in mind I don't care for sports games (I only liked Fifa) fighting games (I only liked Soul Blade for PS1) or racing games lol. I'm more of an RTS or RPG lover.

Thanks!

Believe me when I suggest this.

Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger.

Also, FFIII and FFIV, Dragon Quest IV-VI (When V and VI are released that is), and snag an import copy of Jump Ultimate Stars off ebay if your a fan of Jump manga.

Chrono Trigger DS

Final Fantasy III & IV DS

Dragon Quest IV DS (Later on, V, VI, and IX)

Phantasy Star Zero (when it comes out)

These. I don't recall if you're a Tactics fan or not, but Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 on the DS is a blast.

If you've never played the series (or even if you have), Animal Crossing is a pretty good portable experience. It's already the sort of game you can play for 10 minutes a day or an hour or two, so having it on a handheld is nice.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike is a good turn-based strategy game. I don't heartily endorse Advance Wars: Days of Ruin since it did away with some of my favorite features from the series, but it's probably worth your time.

You might try Clubhouse Games. It has 30-40 games of the card and board variety (Solitaire, Chess, Checkers, Poker, etc.). It's a decent value for what you get, if you're into those types of games.

And I agree with everyone who recommended Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games.

The DS also plays Game Boy Advance, so there are plenty of RPGs for that system as well if you don't already have them: Breath of Fire, Zelda, and -- I can't stress this enough -- Golden Sun.

I have got so say. This is so true. I liked both of them actually.

Take a look at Trauma Center and New Super Mario Bros.(this one to a lesser extent).

Trauma Center is good fun, and can probably be purchased used and on the cheap because it's an older game,
and New Super Mario Bros. is Mario Bros. 1 with a couple of new power ups.

Phoenix Wright 1-3 and Apollo Justice. They're not super long or fancy games, but they're probably my favorite games on the system aside from a couple old NES ports.

Ports and "new" versions of older games like Donkey Kong and Final Fantasy can be fun, but only if you've never played them before or really really love the game. Although I'd never played FF3 before and consider it a complete and total waste of my money so to each their own.

It's more of an action RPG, but I couldn't put down Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (there's a mouthful of a title). Actual story and half decent voice acting in a DS game!

Personally I'm partial to the Castlevania series. there are three titles for the DS, Dawn of Sorrow, Order of Ecclasia, and Portrait of Ruin, I've played all but that latter and love them. There are some for the GBA as well, I don't remember how many though.

Castlevania: OoE is my favorite since symphony of the night. Really worth picking up if you like castlevania and/or a challenge.

I've heard about Castlevania but I've never played it. I'll look into that one too :)

I didn't read over the other posts yet, so what I'm going to say will probably be a rehash. Looking at what games I own, you'd probably like (Not including Legend of Zelda or Mario Kart, since you said you'd be picking them up (or have them already):

Chrono Trigger DS
Final Fantasy III/IV
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Disgaea DS
Yoshi's Island 2 (My favorite is the original, which is on SNES/GBA, but this is nice too)
Castlevania DS Games (They're all great, if you like these kind of games)
Disgaea DS (Fun Strategy RPG game)
Kirby Super Star Ultra (SNES remake, with extra goodies)

I've got a question, which Mario game do you have? I think there's 2 (not including Yoshi's Island II, which is still a Mario-style game that rocks), which are Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Brothers. Super Mario 64 DS is a port with new features of the Nintendo 64 game while New Super Mario Brothers is a new sidescrolling game for the DS.

That's about all I have, and a few I could think of. If I find anymore I think you'd like, I'll post here. The DS has gotta be my favorite system right now, so I've just got a ton of games on my mind.

You said Disgaea twice, but it deserves it, because it's doubly awesome. Also, Chrono Trigger should have been said twice.

I love you Uprick.

Well he got me the red DS that has the Mario M on it (so it came with the game as well). It's a side scrolling one (not old school that locks you from going back though) with (I believe) 8 different worlds. It also has minigames with it.

You seem to have the same taste as me :p

Oh, you got that DS? I saw that when I was going to pick up a new DS Lite, but they said that thing went as soon as Black Friday came by, very nice.

Also, to you Upex, I was thinking about saying it three times, but I figured that would've been too much for everyone.
