cause we have no idea what it'll be for. Who thinks what?

FFVII seems too obvious, but possible. Then again, Xenogears is the most requested game remade in Japan (for the Japanese market). So could be that. I could see him bastardizing both >.>

If it's Kingdom Hearts 3, that could be cool if he gets rid of the lame stuff that 2 had :P brings back some platforming and such.

No please, don't be FF remakes. Why are people so blindly asking for a remake of a game that's really well done the way it is, I know you people mean the graphics but really, they're just going to mess it up. Nomura is making every male character look pretty like all the Japanese male want to be, pussies. The game is going to get ruined.

What lame stuff did Kingdom Hearts 2 have?

Since he's got personal requests from journalists all over the world, I'mma make an assumption and say they're doing a FFVII remake.

After all, a FFVII remake DID get green-lit by SE earlier.

I don't see why they wouldn't make a Final Fantasy 7 remake. They would make a killing from it if they did.

The triangle button sucked (made the game too easy). Insta-win crap. They removed a lot of platforming from KH2 compared to KH1. Roxas was annoying and the first 3 hours were boring as crap.

It wasn't a bad game, but a few things made it not as good as KH1 imo :) doing away with the triangle insta-win and bringing back the platforming and I'd be happy.

As for FFVII remake, I really hope it's not that. I don't trust Nomura enough to not screw it up >.> (what with how he's already screwed up the characters in the FF7 spin offs).

Nothing wrong with the triangle button. And it also was not a "insta win crap." It was simply a stylish way of finishing things off.

And I hope it was the FF7 remake, I would wanna play all 3 of the ps1 ffs in high def graphics :<

I'd play it in a heartbeat. It wouldn't take nothing away from the original. It was a great game that revolutionized RPG's, but do you know how many people would buy a High-def, voice cast Final Fantasy VII? You know they would add a little more back story, plus actually give the game a damn ending! Yeah it would sell a ton, more then any new Final Fantasy coming out. People who have never played it would get it because it's a legend of a game. Of course everyone who has it would buy it.

But FFVII plays like shit. The translation's a big mess(what the fuck is an Allemagne? A Ho-chu? A Gagighandi? Why is there a monster called Jersey?), especially when compared to the standardization of spell names presented in later series (base-a-aga spells, instead of 1-2-3), the LEGO people aren't exactly appealing to the eyes, not to mention the fact that MaDEF does fuck all thanks to a glitch.
This game is in dire need of a remake considering its popularity, take off your rose-tinted goggles.
It's a damn fine game, but I wouldn't go that far.
It made JRPGs more accessible to foreigners. That's why it's many people's first RPG.

I would hardly say the game is in "need" of a remake. Classics can remain classics without having them be updated for the current gen. At the same time I personally would really enjoy playing through the game with updated graphics.

You don't see "nostalgia" ppl asking for remakes of the nes/snes games. They play it just fine.

But, apart from all my reluctancy(idk if it's a word) I would def buy it on the 1st day, lol.

the expectations of fans for this would be so high, he will not live up to it. no chance. people will be expecting the same experience as when they played it for the first time and that will not happen

I would much rather see a FFVI remake over FFVII. Dont get me wrong, I loved FFVII, but I think FFVI had much more going for it than VII. From a business stand point though, FFVII would make a killing LOL. All the people who played the original would pick it up for the nostalgia, and the newer generation of emos would pick it up just cuz Cloud is like their fuckin idol or something.

GROW SOME BALLS CLOUD!

The triangle button made it too damn easy and boring :\ and it did lose a lot of platforming. I loved the drive system (basically limit system XD), but that was about it in terms of new stuff that I really loved. The other stuff was either crap or just alright.

You're complaining about the naming of fucking monsters? Wow lol. And the graphics? For a game that was that big and that advanced at the time? even more wow.... I will give you the MDef thing though, that sucked it was glitched and pointless on armor :(

I'd say FFVI should get a remake cause it needs better pacing imo (great story, characters, gameplay, but the pacing sucked imo). But I don't want Nomura touching it, I know he'll fuck it up.

And the second part of your post is the reason why I don't want Nomura remaking ANY of the games Sakaguchi was a big part of >.> he'll fuck em up. Hell, he already admitted he made Cloud more emo (in Advent Children and whatnot) cause of fanfictions. He'll destroy the characters more and you all know it. Nomura sucks... he should go back to just drawing character concepts for FF games and nothing else (with some limits on belts, buckles, and zippers though). Or just let him have his new IP to play with and do as he likes (like KH was).

The naming of the monsters is extremely jarring, especially when compared to names before and after FFVII (hell, FatalEye makes more sense than Allemagne). One has to wonder what the fuck the translation team at the time was thinking with some of these names, especially since some traditional Final Fantasy monsters blatantly refer to various mythological creatures.
As for the graphics, I do think it's a valid complaint. Graphics from the SNES era, while not three dimensional and filtered with fifteen layers of bloom, still look fantastic. FFVII did come out during the awkward transition from 2-D to 3-D, but it doesn't give it an excuse to look so damn horrible. Especially when presented over the various pre-rendered backgrounds in the game, it made my eyes bleed then and it does now.

I don't think it looked that bad. It wasn't really "3D" btw. And for the time, it definitely looked better than any SNES game did. Bitching about graphics of an old game always pisses me off... it's stupid. Bitching about graphics in general is stupid >.> I mean, if you don't like the look of a character (like how their concept is supposed to be) fine.. but just the straight out graphics? Dumb..

The naming, I guess, but I still think it's minor and who gives a shit.

Yeah guys. Remember when they messed up Final Fantasy IV with the DS remake?

e: there are like 20 other Square and/or Enix titles that deserve remakes before Final Fantasy VII should get one. Top three in order of importance: Final Fantasy VI, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy V.

There's so much they could potentially do with a FFVII remake.

They were running out of money when making FFVII, so the ending, as well as some extra features they wanted added, had to be cut short or completely removed. So if they remake FFVII, they could add all of those things, improve the ending that had to be cut short, as well as add some new things.

Just please don't add a way to resurrect Aerith, something they originally intended to do ;/ Let her stay dead.

That doesn't make sense. We're talkin' about a revolution here not a rise in popularity. The PS1 made FF VII, not the other way around.
