Noob first time partying blunders...

I was i think lvl 7 and a very nice high lvl was taking me from Windy to bastok but we went the long way (windy > boat > dunes > bastok) and he had a paralize macro(me not knowing wtf they were) it said "Now whm para the <t> and so i did.... got hate and then died. So he asked why i did that and i said "cause you told me to". And it happened a few times lol but he was still nice and we got to bastok and i said "it smells here" XD
 
The stupidest thing I've ever done was when I used to melee as WHM... I'd disengage just before the fight was over to get a head start at resting, but I accidentally hit "Call For Help" and we lost all that exp... That was the end of me meleeing lol.

I felt so bad about it afterwards... :(
 
i remember when me and priest first started playing. we got to dunes lvl and he was in a pt already, if i remember correctly, there was a huge lvl gap and an alliance?
and in the pre dunes lvls, i partied with one other person. and when she casted lots, i thought that she was stating how much the items were worth. i had no idea. i kept saying "oh wow, thats alot" hehe. god. those were the days.

Also when I started whm I was using the mouse to click every person I healed... made curing a little slow..

can't believe I'm admitting this.

i started as a staff weilding MNK,
used the mouse to target,
though moving around would make the monsters miss me,
and the godess altana only know how many beastmen's seals i threw away

yeah in the begining I didn't know how importmant beastmen seals were I just thought they were worthless so I thru away tons of them :-(
 
same with me when i was a noob :P
i remmeber when started as a warrior, i was in he highlands killing stuff, and i attacked a mad sheep at a low lvl in a rty, and everyone said "no you n00b!" lol, we all died.
 
7 person allience in quifrm island
yup i used to move thinking i could avoid getting hit (used to FPS lol) and the ever so cool moving with a mouse was like WTF, this is annoyingly hard to control and is uncomfirtable.
the {/follow} MACRO and the even better one {/autorun} MACRO
sometimes i wish i could go back to being that clueless, i miss East Sarabuta having Neyla show up behind me when i'm doing things i'm not supposed to lol. {/blush}
How she put up with me and my friend playing 1 character and switching on her w/out saying anything oh good times ^^ and the stuff we tried to pull lol.
o.O i know lol, just thought of this one.
Hiding in the grass naked because i had green hair and i blended in with the grass thinking i was safe from agroing mobs while i went afk. Need less to say i came back later dead.
 
Used to think if ityped anything in say, sound mobs would aggro me. Deathly afraid of all yagudos, my first pt was in Tahrongi killing dhalmels....we thought if we hit it enough we just randomly start SC or something, when in the dunes i got a pt....just wanted to go to sandy and see the sights....dint have a fire scroll lol. Thought I was the shit when i got my chocobo, Vardia, Deglemapa and I sat on boat waiting for skeles once. Asked Raell a lvl 18 to pt when I was lvl 1 running around with flag up, she was lvl18 and a really sweet 60 yr old woman who fished alot lol.

Thats all I can think of.....oh memories.
 
lol its like looking back on childhood memories or something. See the "new" newbies ask us these questions to try and avoid there nOOb moments, but they'll create there own anyways ^^
 
I still do Newby things. Like when i started lvling Alchemy I didn't know about the tests you had to do. I was crafting like poison pots and never got a skill up for about 2 days, then i asked my ls wtf and they told me about the tests. -.- But the list goes on. XD
 
i've had a few n00b moments that realy stand out, and some i dont wish to share but i like these
I know exactly how many beastmen seals i threw out... i had 3 stacks in my Inventory, and i got a drop of a crystal, and a few other items but i needed room, i asked A friend what the seals were for, and he says he has no idea... so i toss them >_>
another one was when iw as realy low level i asked a friend irl who also played what to do to make gil, he said go out hunt crystals and sell them, so thats what i did >_> for 15 gil each YAY!...
oh and my personal favorite, i traded 10 stacks of hard farmed silk into the dhalmel mithra quest... or about 300k as a lvl 10 char >_>

That wasnt the worst part about it either. By the time you ACTUALLY got there. It was windsday and we waited a whole hour before we got to actually do the Prime fight. And yes I was cursing you.
 
lets see... my favorite story to tell was when i was lvling my thf out in S gusta for the first time. i was killing stuff and just having a good time in general. i read the manual about the /check system and was too scared to take on anything unless it was easy prey... but anyways. i get a /tell from someone who wanted to pt in the highlands for a bit, i was lvl 7 btw. and after a few minutes he says "to respond hit /tell 'myname' and then type... so i said ooh! ty! yea sure ive never pt'd before! i'll be there as soon as i can!' and well.... it was my first time outside. so i said to myself highlands.... highlands.... hmmm.... and i walked around and i noticed a ramp leading up to a hill (Vomp Hill in S gusta) and i was like aha! highlands! it makes sense! so i walked up there and /tell him 'ok im on the highlands. where are u?

and we got in an argument about the highlands ' ' he eventually ended up giving up on me...

that was also my first encounted with a gobline.. "ooh, this monster has a backpack, maybe i can get some good things from him" **aggro** HEY i didnt start attacking!? ahhhh

Having played thru FF8 several times, I came to this game in the mindset that "aga" meant stronger.

In most cases it does, however the area of effect thing kinda ruins it.

I did it twice before I realized what was happening. Noone else knew, and I didn't clue them in either.

I don't think I have cast Diaga since that day in the Maze.
 
I remember me and a friend were in la thiene and we had fallen down into one of the many areas surrounding the large cracks in the ground and we couldn't figure out how to get back at first. well we saw the larger crack in the ground and started saying "Hey I wonder what's down there... wanna just run at it and fall?... ok on three" well we both run and just hit and invisble wall.... yeah we just sat down and didn't say anything for a few minutes after that.

... hmmm well I never once used a Cure Macro till I got to lvl 51... never saw a need for it until I could equip the light/dark staves.

oh yeah and I too threw away countless Seals.
