Noobs and you…

I've given up on getting DRKs and BLMs to use Stun when a gobbie gets ready to toss a bomb.

Good. Because the BLM will almost always be in the middle of another spell when the gob readies the bomb, and will therefore miss the stun. The stun window on a bomb is much shorter than the time it takes to interrupt a cast. I'm fairly certain i'm on the B-List of a certain MNK who couldn't understand this.

I meant more along the lines of people who cannot understand SATA defeating the whole purpose of a theif, a red mage who does not want to enfeeble or refresh...

I partied with a RDM last night who was like that. I swear, by the end of the party I was convinced he bought the character off eBay (how do you get to 51 without knowing there's a magic shop in Jeuno?). I didn't check his subjob until the party was winding down, so I didn't know he was RDM51/WHM18 ("I was powerleveling a friend when I got the invite," he said). I had to keep telling him to stop using Regen I on the tank because mine was bigger than his, I had to tell him to stop casting Protect because -- call me crazy -- Protect III is better.

And he never ever enfeebled. He may have thrown out a Gravity once, but I'm convinced it was an accident.

He did manage to use Chainspell at one point. He didn't actually cast any spells when he did it, but he used it.

He sorta remembered to keep Refresh going on me and the PLD, but not very well. Mostly he used Cure III. I think he would be much happier playing WHM, 'cause he's not very good at RDM. I think he only managed to coast to 52 because he had Refresh, but he didn't accumulate much knowledge about his job along the way.

When I started asking him the "Why are you?" and "Why don't you?" questions, he said "I'm a Mentor. I know what I'm doing."

I watched that party. Lavi didn't activate SATA until getting back to the party...and even as puller she begged not to be.

In her profile it says "Kea's Love".

What a lesbian.

I command you to say you like lesbians.

I can see why we should help people out who dont know how to do their jobs, and i do.
But there are some problems with doing this.

a) i find some people just refuse to accept anysort of advice.
An example of this is when i was leveling THF in Dunes and i have a nooby WHM
She kept spamming Cure II and Thus using up all her MP and using it
inefficently and ineffectively. I tried asking her nicely to use Cure one as it is
more efficient and she started screaming at me about it being her job.
I even tried pointing out that i was a lvl 58 WHM and she just said she
didn't believe me.
And after pointing out that my title was "Paragon Of White
Mage Excellence". She still refused to listen by saying i'm not whm in THIS
pt and that i should be grateful for her partying with someone a lower level
than her (she was killing xp). i replied that she should be grateful that i am
partying with someone who doesn't know how to do their job. me and
WHM both left pt. the leader invited WHM back but not me...they died
many times. While this is at lower levels i still think that it is a good
example of ignorance.

b) (yes i finally got around to it) Is that at the higher levels like 50+...most
of us who have not actually played the job do not know what they are
doing wrong exactly and therefore cannot correct them. I have had more
bad tanks lvl 55-60 than i care to count...but i could not tell them how to
do it. My knowledge of tanking as a PLD consists of using cover when big
attack is used, using provoke every 30 secs and using flash and cure to
keep hate...assuming that is all correct, that is all i know about it.
therefore how am i supposed to turn around and lecture someone on a job
i dont know about? i can't. the best i can do it offer them a website that
has job guides or something. and if you do so you generally get back to
the first problem.

Bad parties and Noobs are here to stay. if you dont like it then you can
either quit the game or refuse to party with them. i recomend the latter as
it would be a shame to see more good players leave while the number of
bad ones increases.

I will not mention the name of the white mage i partied with in the hope
that she will learn. If she does not then i am sure there will be many
people willing to tell you about her in the future.

I know this is a late response but... Lavi was that the same pt that I was in? I think I was the leader of that party :(

Wow, someone actually understands this concept? I'm confused >.> Most tools think a BLM can interrupt, get up, and stun in time.

Most people also forget that stun is a 45 second RECAST! Not the 5 second like a normal spell.
