Not much point in creating new Linkshells

Didn't anyone notice Sonicbooms sig? That is some damn funny shit.
Anyone I have a friend who has an LS named Silence. Its nice to equip that pearl and not have to listen to anyone every now and then. It is almost disappointing if someone else is in Silence when you are. It is fun to leave funny /lsmes for each other also. That is all. Good day.

Lmao me n my friend laughed a good 30 mins watchin his sig in the library lmao. Its probably the best sig i've ever seen

*shrugs*

My LS that I formed wasn't very huge, but I really didn't care. At night it had about 13 people on. And this group, or shall I call, FF Family, made the whole LS feel like it was large. I didn't really care about having 50+ members. Just a good place to chill.

However, it took me 3 months to get there... Then after 3 months of that, it went down to the shitter due to LS drama. I get enough of this bullshit in High school, don't need it on a game...

BigFun's been together for... ever. I made it when I was a month into the game with 4 members in it (RL friends and 1 ingame friend). Look what it's become now... pretty successful. Loyalty, check. Just get a core group of people and build around it. If you grow too quickly, it's just going to blow up in your face. Look for the type of people YOU like to play with and that you like to associate with and offer them a pearl to come on every once in a while and say hello. Who knows, you might even end up winning a few people over in the end, as a second place for people to come to chill when their "main" LS sucks. I just always felt as a LS leader it was best that people didn't feel like they had to be there, that it should always be a choice and I'd be delighted to see people when they log in, grateful that they'd come there to hang out and chill. That's just my opinion, though.

Its stupid to say there are too many LS already out there. Most will break sooner or later. Very few last more than a month of so. BoK lasted almost 2 years and is now in the final stages of death. there will always be people without Lss so dont be a little bitch and go out and search them out.

I created my LS, ForgottenHonor, because well, I just wanted to make one. where people could come, hang out, chill, talk about whatever, and hopefully become a tight knit group of friends. I have a total, of I think, 8 members. But they're all really awesome people. As a matter of fact, only one of them is 75, I'm 60, and the rest are below 30. I love them all. ^^ Sure, I wish other people would join, but I understand most of my other friends have good perma-shells.

By saying there is no point in building a new ls you are saying there is no point in voting for a new president when the previous ones are alive!!!.Unfair rules n leaders / favouritism often bring down great ls's.... so yeah....

I have a linkshell for my static that I made so I don't get spammed by LS chat... Plus it's not a terrible colour like half the shells out there :D

I have a new ls running and it's doing fine. So I guess I was over exagerating abit.

Thats well said
Tell me something is it a good idea to make a LS full of RL friends?
15 of my friends play this game and we hang alot so just wondering.

My first linkshell broke up, so I joined another one which lasted a long time, but now it's dying. So I equip my endgame linkshell as my main...but no one talks, so I decided to create a personal linkshell for RL friends. Linkshells are too much drama...I'm afriad to join anymore.

On my old server, I had a RL friends linkshell that I started the game with.... it broke up! Even though we all remained friends, most of us wandered off for busier linkshells where there would be more high-level assistance and more people to talk to.

People join and leave LSes for a wide variety of reasons, just don't be too disappointed if it breaks up.

I am at the point where enjoy a slower more quiet LS. Don't get me wrong the LS I am in is mostly comprised of mostly level 60+ so when I need to get stuff done, I can. We do have lower level members and sometimes we do take on new members, but not usually. I think most of us enjoy that fact that we are semi-small, but can still get things done.

Getting a LS off the ground or even joing a LS really all depends on what you wanna do in the game and where you are at, specifically, in the game. As far as making a LS and having it stick...We (the members of Victory) took a dissolving LS and turned it into a great LS which later then dissolved because of something stupid, but hind sight is 20/20, but they (the members of PhoenixRising) remade that LS and it is thriving again.

I guess my point is, is you can't just start a new LS, shout in Jeuno for members, give those pearls out and expect those people to stay. Most people I know are EXTREMELY loyal to their LS...it's just who these people have "grown up" with, it's really just a comfort thing in my opinion...no one likes to be the new kid.

Why do you want to be a leader anyway...is it the power, or because you have really great organizational, leadership skills?

That's why I'm telling everyone to save their gil. Don't buy Linkshells anymore. It's a fucking waste of gil and time.

That's not the case for everyone, though i'm sure it happens very frequently. When I first joined the game, I joined a linkshell that broke up within months. Me and my bf, decided to make our own and we invited a few of the people we had known from the old ls we were apart of. These people then in turn invited a few friends, and in just over 2 months or so we now have a good group of more than 20 people. We don't have too many on at once as our members are in various time zones, but usually in the evenings there's a good 5-10 of us on.

The thing that makes our ls work, is simply that me and my bf spend as much time as we can helping the others out. When they need help with a mission, quest they need only ask us and we'll help them out. Sometimes we may be busy lvling, but we make arrangements to help them at a later date. Our ls is very friendly, helpful, courteous and we all have a good sense of humor that allows us to have some interesting conversations when you're waiting around for a party invite.

I wouldn't say that its hard to get one started unless you lack people skills, but in the beginning it does take patience. We've had a few people join our ls, and we never see them again. Everyone has their own preference as to what kind of ls they'll want to join, and it just takes patience in finding the right people who match your preference for you to have a good ls.

My advice if you want to create a good ls is to:
1. Have an approachable and friendly personality
2. Do your best to help the other ls members, everyone in the game needs help at some point and it always feels great to hear someone give a real thank you for you having spent the time to help them out
3. Don't get angry when people leave, it happens. You're better off having people that ENJOY being in your ls, then people who dislike it and are forced to be there. It'll create a better atmosphere
4. Have patience. Hard work and patience always gives the best rewards

My experience with the ls that me and my bf have created, is that linkshells aren't a waste of gil nor a waste of time. We have met some great players, and befriended good people in doing this. They're part of the reason we're still playing this game :)

Patience is more than the lame name they thought up for Halle Berry in the recent Catwoman. (what was wrong with Selena Kyle?)

there a reason for this it not based off the batman catwoman, it based on catwomen race. It was a stupid idea and movie. just like house of the dead.
<rolling eyes>

What kind of "action" are you looking for. I figure being in a semi-dead LS is more action packed than not being in one at all.

I'm fortunate, I've been in Big Fun since the very first day I started, and have not once thought of leaving. I'm a loyalist like that.

I like everyone in my shell, and they are always eager to help eachother. I would say we spend more time helping eachother than ourselves.

Big Fun has been around for nearly two years now, and aside from some of the higher lvl members leaving for advanced shells, we still have a lot of the same crew as we did when the shell first started, which has allowed us to all get to know eachother very well.

I don't know about starting a new shell, but I do know there are tons of great ones already out there. If you find they aren't exciting enough for you, you may just need to excite yourself somehow. ^ ^
