doesn't matter odon.. she really really wanted them.. and PLDs are gonna get them next as no one else really cares for them other than me and a few others that are passing up for others... so ya.. everything comes in time, damn it! well.. I'd like to think that.. but I'm not really getting much >> stupid lack of internet...
 
Actually PA is most likely getting them next time.
 
I think the main thing about the point system is simply this.

The hard work invovlved in getting god gear is mostly put into the work of getting the pop items. People should get whatever motivates them to do that work. If someone simply comes to the god fights, or is mostly inactive towards the item hunts, they are not actually doing the work for the items. It is not selfish to want to be compensated for what you have earned and simply working hard to make other people stronger who don't help out as much as you is not right.
Many jobs are considered higher on rank in terms of recieving items as well as they are higher on rank on being needed in sky. For example the Blackmage only is first for 1 item, the zenith mitts, which comes from the first god any LS will face, Genbu. So therefore to be want other zenith pieces makes the BLM "selfish" even though there's nothing else they want out of sky. While BLM is one of the most useful and hardest jobs to recruit. Some jobs fall under many catagories and can recieve from several different god LS sets, like for example Warrior can get adaman which they do want and koenig(tanking gear and Warriors mostly don't even want it very much). If all PLD have koenig the Warriors might be getting koenig pieces well before BLM get even their zenith, who have but 1 set to share among 5 jobs. So is it wrong to have a system to try to motivate people to work as opposed to merely need>greed and never get pop items and have a harder time recruiting jobs that are neglected by the "need" system?

whos to say the pld didnt want them just as much if not more? if i didnt spend points on other things that would benefit me as a LS tank, i would have outbid her. saying that she wanted more than anyone else is just stupid. and since there are others that just worry about themselves, im sure a PLD wont get the next set either. and in case your wondering, i would pass off the chance to allow cythe the lot

hehe.. PA doesn't have as many points as me.. atleast.. I don't think so.. and I dunno.. I'd still prefer PLD get em.. but if so many others are gonna lot before the PLDs and make it even longer a wait for me.. what's the point of me not lotting since things seem to be taking so long? XD oh well.. patience is the way...
 
If she lots, you should Its appernt there is no 'team' spirit in the ls..

rules are rules.. better than a priority based rule which just let's the leader show favoritism to his/her friends.
 
This is why I'm not doing any endgame god/hnm stuff. I'm not joining such an LS either. I'm a Blm, so there isn't much of interest to me. People are happy for you to put in 84+ hours of work, but this is the result of claiming your just rewards. Not my thing. I'm on the Dark Knight's side. It sounds to me like that LS would rather that the Drk never got anything at all. I've wavered off and on about my interest in these sorts of activities, but thread after thread on the flameboards here is cementing my oppinion. Somehow I don't see myself as the person with 1 point thinking s/he should get X item just because of my job. I could see myself with tons of points and getting berated whenever I use them. Endgame seems to bring out the worst in people. I wouldn't want to become an ass too.

This isn't the case at all. The only one who's voiced any real opposition to it has been shiutou, and the only reason for that was that the DRK should have let a PLD get the legs first; not that they couldn't get them at all. They were the DRK's points to spend, and she did, that's as per to LS rules, plain and simple.
 
Exactly. And everyone except a select few have no problem with it. Frankly... it's the rules of the LS.. people don't like it? tough shit.
 
That's NH's rule, and should be respected, the drk deserved the drop in every way. Now at the same time I feel since It was NH's first kirin, they should of had a pld obtain them. Not that the drk didn't deserve it, but it would of done worlds more good in the hands of a pld.

I guess that's the flaw with the points system (which I think is the best system anyone has come up with yet), no system is perfect, but it's not a big issue, sooner or later the plds will start getting the abjuration, once 2 or 3 plds have it, it'll become a moot issue really as to who it helps the most.

ELE, you guys can always have a database where ppl can check it weekly.. and have a queue for the gear and put a list on who's next etc etc... so that when something drops, ya'll can reference to that database online... and update it on a weekly basis while ppl get their shit..

also, have a separate queue for a "wish list" on items that ppl can't wear yet, etc etc...

just... my opinion...

also, obviously, when making that queue, put it priority on jobs for what gear... so of course, you wouldn't be putting anyone except PLDs and RNGs for W.Legs... then have RDMs etc etc next in line...

I know how it is, Ultra.. that's why I pass up A.Abj: Hands to BLM first.. and pass up W.Abj: Legs to PLDs first.. and pass up lots to others first x.x only thing I've gotten from sky (in terms of items cause I've always recieved lots of fun outta sky ^^) was Crimson Greaves and that was because no one wanted em O.o hehe.

that's just the way it is... some ppl have to wait longer than others... i would like to mention, however... that my [Mega Boss] Villarel has been very unselfish and is more gratifide when seeing his members getting gear rather than himself.

sometimes we tell Vill to shut up and just lot on an item but always seems to refuse and pass it up to someone else. just like to give a BIG HUG and BIG SALUTE to my BOSS... Villarel.

but seems like you're having fun regardless so... should keep you motivated to keep on going... your time will come.
 
But the only reason a person wouldn't be able to get any item they want is if A: they didn't put in much work, and didn't get any points, or B: they'be been cashing in points steadily, getting other items they want. Which of these sounds like a good reason to give preference to one job over another? Does the lazy player deserve the prize, or the player who's been buying stuff every time and just wants more?

Um... it's not like the other people haven't earned any points either. They might be newer to the LS, newer to sky, or haven't been able to attend as many runs. I'm part of the latter group, since I've got a class right in the middle of when we go, so I don't have many points. That doesn't mean I don't help when I can, or that I've been buying stuff left and right.
 
Although its perfectly within the rules to lot on the legs for the DRK. The DRK should step back and say what would help the LS most? What would be the best benefit to the LS? IF the dark does not ask his/her self these questions then he/she is selfish. I mean look at it this way in our LS (which has the same point system) the leader, Dresdan, has far more points than anyone else in the entire shell and he already said he wont get it. Wanna know why? Would it really help a war more than it would a ranger or monk?

rules are rules and the DRK can do it....however
LS>self.
