If it was written in the the mod board on SO, I read it. I took the opportunity to find out everything I could regarding that boards background while I could. Trust me, I know.

Of course, having said that.... I know what you are saying is fundamentally true. There was no intention of doing an actual merge of boards; just linking them in that everyone was aware of all their options when it came to boards run by you.

I think the idea is kinda neat actually. There is a WoW forum, and while I didn't read it, it looked really well put together and I may have seen something about a private server but I don't recall. It's all just different flavors for people who want to take advantage of them. By no means is it forced, although there was some misleading of people....

I'm giving it a chance because I see the good that can come out of it. That and I like the little arcade they have over there that they just added. Neat little games with high score lists and the option of tournaments. It's kinda cool actually.

If you start charging for the arcade I will smash your balls though Reeve. And give us a shoutbox, that's pretty fuckin cool.

edit: Actually I went and looked and no private server for WoW

Nox created the thread Titled "Recruitments" or "Recruiting" the title was one of the two, and in that he was the one to bring up the idea. He mentioned that he had asked people to come to SO and basically cause a fuss. He pretty much used the thread to update on the amount of people that joined from here, but he did mention in the thread that it was a recruitment plug and he was trying to come up with more stuff to tell us to do. The pics in the OP are from that thread. Reeve was aware after the fact, but it wasn't his brain child and he didn't take any action so to speak of beyond a post that could e summarized as LOL. He seemed rather neutral to the whole situation.

He could have kinda stepped up to the plate and said it was wrong and decietful, but I imagine it was viewed as another silly joke by Nox to him. I'm sure if he knew we were reading it and every port that was being made to the thread, he would have covered his ass a little more, but oh well.

In short, it was totally Nox's idea from what I could tell, but the other mods there were hardly left in the dark. They were getting the play-by-play.

I see a lot of bouncing in this topic...and well...I wanna be like Tidus and tell my story! ; ;

I joined "Team Crikey" later in the recruitment stage because...of course, I'm gay and we love drama. I read what Nox posted on their mod forum over there and while at first I was a little upset, I realized it wasn't worth getting upset over. To be honest, I wouldn't have stayed on that forum for good anyways. I did however, see a different forum and really saw things that would make this site much more fun in my opinion.

For those of you who haven't visited SO yet, they have a "shoutbox" at the top. That thing is fun and I don't care who you are, everyone here would have a blast using that thing. The gil system is interesting as well, and if worked properly, it could prove to be another great add to QCDN. The last thing that i saw that I really enjoyed was the arcade. If they got an arcade over here, I really believe that everybody on QCDN would have a blast competing for the high scores.

I'm really hoping that Nox and Reeve will consider putting those features on this board. As for the way that Nox brought us to SO? Definitely not the best way to do it. It was an interesting recruitment plug, but it was just delivered very poorly. But on the bright side, we did find some new fun things we could pester them to add! :)
 
This forum used to have stuff like that too (I remember there at least being a Sudoku thing)...not sure what the hell happened to it though.

I call bullshit on this one, lol. You even responded in the mod forum, the one suggesting that we be lured over to SO under false pretenses.

So, that being said, if there's nothing "sinister" going on here, why lie?
 
Wow, I can't believe some of the posts here. Some people are no different than children, you give them a chocolate and expect them to forget everything that is bad, and worship you?

So they can give us some add-ons. So they an link us to their other forum. Should we all forget the way that our requests since Reeve has become an admin have been ignored until we hounded him repeatedly to address them? (A couple days is acceptable, but weeks? a month? No, that isn't) And even when the issues were even addressed (if they were) did we ever get a simple explanation to let us know and reassure us that we as a community matter? Nope.

That's right people, you go ahead and get all excited about all the things they're going to "bedazzle us" with and forget that they have zero respect for us as a community, as well as the fact that they couldn't give two shits about us. Its been proven already. The only reason they're working this forum is because it gives them some kind of financial benefit. If they truly cared about the forum and the people, they'd make a better effort to become apart of the community and the members. And i'm sorry, creating a spam topic and flaunting what you claim to be pictures of yourself isn't really going to accomplish that.

And Miros, i'm kinda disappointed. You actually went on IM to try and bring your concerns to Reeve because he wouldn't do anything in the mod forum, and the response you got was a "Well does it really matter"? Yeah, our admin sure cares.


I think Zyndara's last response pretty much summed everything up. Its just too bad people can easily change their views about a person with a little sucking up.

Seriously, it's not that big of a deal. Yeah, we all love to visit this forum, or else we wouldn't be here... Personally? I'm here for entertainment. Things like that shoutbox and an arcade would provide more entertainment for me. It has nothing to do with being a low-intellectual person or whatever you're hinting at here, Zerayla. I just don't care. I don't really care that the freakin clock is off by 20 minutes or whatever it is. I don't care about the bots, they make me laugh lol.

I'm here to have fun, and implementing more things to increase my fun will make me happy. Does this make me a bad person? No, I really don't think so.

I don't mean to disappoint, but since you've stated now, it's obvious that Reeve/Nox really don't truly give a shit about this community. I'm not going to argue that fact, Reeve has been horrible as an admin. Look at SO, they are a completely different breed from us. We are far more demanding then they are. I remember that IM session...he also stated that he wanted those mods who are specifically designated to the forums should make the rules/do the modding etc etc. Then he asked me which forum I moderate...funny thing was he didn't set me to any, since I became mod when Fly and Aly were temp admin. It was nice to see that he kept up sooooo well with his mod team and really knew what they were doing. /sarcasm

It would be nice if...again...we changed admins to someone that had that balance of caring/not giving a shit...but since we are stuck with Reeve and Nox now, I just figure that we should try to promote some ideas that will at least make QCDN better for us.

I would appreciate it if you stopped this garbage here because its becoming too much like a string phone where one thing becomes another and by the time it reaches the end its just garbage.
