I can tell you the duel with your NPC for the 70 cap is retardedly easy and uncapped without any restrictions to yer SJ. Went in as a SAM/WAR and smoked my NPC partner (who was ninja. Dunno if everyone's is a ninja or if it's random or what) with a deal of ease. Seems to take vastly reduced WS damage (my tachi's were hitting for between 150-180), only has about 2k hp near as I can figure. No conumables are needed really, I beat her with 150 HP left because I ate a poorly timed blade:jin for 600 damage. SAM main, /SAM, NIN or /NIN seem to make the fight stupid easy. Happy hunting.

my npc has katana thou in bc she used 2. didnt use any white magic spells but had acess to drown and nin 2hr which was the only damage i recived.
npc dosent follow normal wait time between casting as normal mobs do chaining ninjitsu and black magic. would seem she has the ability to use all NI lvl justu (jubaku, doki(sp))
ws didnt break 200 on her but normal melee damage was about right.

headed out to do this now as 73blu/nin, id go as smn or blm or something but your npc is reportedly a bst when you go smn, and takes little magic dmg as blm.
