the assault been out for abit now, has anything gotten any the nm drops yet? Has any you seen fafnir, or cerb? How about them jse weapons, or has anyone acquired the armor from the top lvls? Lets hear some stories.

HNMs appear every 20 floors. 20/40/60 are Adamantoise, Behemoth, or Fafnir. 80/100 are allegedly Cerberus, Hydra, or Khimaira. They can drop the new set pieces, each floor represents a different piece. Confirmed so far, 20 is feet and 40 legs.

Not sure if they can drop other items from their regular treasure pools, haven't fought them personally yet.

too bad those set are crap compared to regilar assault set, except maybe 1 piece in each.

Yeah, the Askar Zucchetto is pretty awesome. And the Korazin isn't bad for Dragoons, but the other jobs on it can use Haubergeon or Hauberk.

The Goliard Saio beats the Nashira Manteel in terms of haste...shame it's the floor 80 or 100 item (if the floors follow the trend), and only 33% drop at best.

I'd be inclined to wear Askar Korazin over Hauberk, it'd be an interesting parse to compare. Double Attack +2% and Store TP +5, could be hot if your acc isn't an issue.

Has there been a definitive answer to the puzzle of "Kill specified enemy"? We've done a handful of Nyzul runs and every time there was no obvious distinction of the objective mob. Looked the same, conned the same, same name as others in it's family. In some cases it was the only mob from that family, in others there were more than one.

You have to kill all mobs that check "Impossible to Guage".

i think the mobs that would normally check EP-IT would now check impossible under these circumstances. suchs as lolbifrons

Maybe I wasn't looking closely enough, I thought everything was checking non-ITG. Will see again tonight, thanks guys.

them lamps stages suck. Has anyone confirmed if the normal nm (not king) drop there respective armor?

Normal NMs can drop chests. If they do, you get a ??? Item version of their normal drop. Like Smothered Schmidt would drop a chest that contains a ??? Ring. These items have a chance of appraising for their normal item, so Schmidts ??? Ring can Appraise to be the Malflood Ring.

Lamps only suck if it's the Light in Order type of objective. The other ones are okay.

Maybe we're doing something wrong, but as far as I know (I'm not around Sundays) my shell has not even reached floor 6 yet ; ; . Anyone have some advice on how to progress faster? I know the rules for how things work with each goal presented, it just seems like we're not fast enough.

Floor layouts, objectives, mob-types, and amount of mobs is pretty random, so advice is completely variable.

The only solid advice is to avoid what you aren't required to fight. If you're not on an "Eliminate All Enemies" objective, simply go around mobs that don't check Impossible to Gauge. Also, keep moving. The first few floors mages are hardly even required, unless you come across a mob family you have to kill that isn't melee friendly. MP should rarely be an issue on floors 1-5.

Fafnir etc. haven't dropped any "???" items yet. Roc, however, drops a ??? Polearm, so that can be appraised in to that rare/ex version of healer's staff. Simurgh drops "???" boots".

MP has never been the issue - even if it was we have a member with the full yigit set, so hMP would be very high for him. It just seems like we reach our goal too slowly. We manaburned (4 blms, rdm, and pld) our way to floor 5 this one time, and that was the only time I've even reached that floor. The PLD was extremely useful for rounding up the mobs in a room that had three spread apart so that the mages could -ga the crap out of them.

What exactly do you mean by go around the mobs you don't need to kill? My impression thus far is that they're all true sight. Even if they weren't, we'd have melees who "forgot" to bring their powders or oils, making us lose precious seconds. I guess we just need some more practice. I'm looking forward to our next runs, though I'd like to get some SM assaults in too. They sound quite interesting compared to those available before this rank.

Thanks for throwing in some advice ^^

I just wish they'd allow access to maps. With a map, you can see where everyone is and clear/check rooms a whole lot faster as well as locate various mobs on widescan. I think with that, the objectives would go a whole lot smoother.

Some, not all, are true sight/sound. Luckily almost everything in Nyzul can be slept or bound, and are extremely susceptible to it since many of the objectives populate the floors with EP-T mobs. So even if you have to train a buttload of mobs, a good Sleepga or Sleepga2 should hold them for quite some time.

Also it appears floor 3 is a free pass. Another guy in my group warped us up from 2 to 3, I went to click the rune on 3 to get our objective, and it immediately gave us the option to warp to 4.

Exactly what it means. "Go around." If it's a big room full of things you don't need to fight, simply walk through the room out of aggro range.

Layout and objective is completely random. Floor 3 for you was a Free Floor, but Floor 3 for my group yesterday farming tokens was Eliminate Specified Enemies.

Exactly why they do not allow you to see the map. When you get an Eliminate Leader(And to a lesser extent Specified Enemies) objective, Widescan would cut down on the time spent on that floor tremendously.

here tip for Specified Enemies only kill the "impposible to gauge" ans try not to kill gears if they tell you not to because you will lose both tokens and 1 min for each you kill.

There are two subobjectives with the Gears. Do not destroy, and Avoid detection. Avoiding is fucking hard since they're true sound and aggro magic casting, but allegedly, if you pull them with a ranged attack, it doesn't count as being detected.

You also failed to mention that if you break a subobjective, you get a Pathos put on you for the next floor. They can be the same, or a completely new Pathos. One time we got longer cast times, another we got your standard Job Ability lock Pathos. It only lasts for the next floor however.
