We should ALWAYS have a standing order to shoot on sight any terrorists and/or pirates that are endangering any U.S. citizen. The fact that the navy even needs "permission" to kill the scum is disgraceful.

If this is about what Bush did when he was in office, he was a stupid fuck up and a horrible president. He's also no longer in office so why don't I just start blaming Andrew Johnson while I'm at it for his poor handling of Reconstruction after the Civil War. Bush is the past, Obama is the present.

"Just shoot em" Doesn't help anyone, especially hostages.

Know what the hijackers would've done if they knew "shoot em all" was the standard procedure for hostage situations? Simply kill the people they would take hostage, then loot the corpses. Also, firefights are very hazardous to the health of hostages. It worked in this case, but when shooting starts, they're usually the first ones to get shot.

Use half a brain, please. There's a reason there's special training for these kinds of things.
