Anyone who'd take the 30 second accuracy boost(note: not damage), having the effect of accuracy being the same regardless of the distance from the mob added to Sharpshot, as RNG being the overpowered job it was before needs to have thier braincase examined.
Notice that Square didn't even mention increasing the accuracy that Sharpshot provides. You'll still have the same hit rate, it's just that for 30 seconds, Distance won't matter. Dual Wielding Archers/Hawkers, at the most, will get you 6 attack rounds in. If you're not shooting that is. If you are, you might get one attack cycle through before Sharpshot wears off.
Synical is right. It's a fucking insult because it doesn't even do anything different than Sharpshot does in it's current condition.
The fact that this thread exists makes me wonder what the fuck Peregrine was thinking. Yes Peregrine, we know retards exist in the world. Thanks for pointing out that theres even retarded people who play Ranger. Wonderful PSA. Noble Prize is right up your alley.
Sharpshot is 60 seconds. No, not just with AF pants, always. Currently it provides a
minimal increase to Racc, which is noticeable in the low levels, but not even worth wasting your time using after 50. AF pants add a tiny boost to the amount of Racc given, it is 60 seconds with or without them.
The problem with this fix - even at sweet spot in full Racc gear eating sushi plus 5 accuracy bonus job traits, ranged accuracy is below melee accuracy of a meat eating melee against anything short of IT, and is horrific in comparison to a melee eating sushi.
Rng has become a ghetto blm, or the new drk/war. Hold back, get the killshot. Don't do any real damage at the start of the fight because it will do more harm than good to have the mob running all around and you have no defense at all so it's gonna hit you for 20% of your hp per hit.
To those that say that rng now takes more skill than rng then - I use less than 1/10th the skill I used pre-patch when I play rng. I barrage whenever it's up, because I can't count on it to keep the chain alive when I need to, so no point in saving it up. I use a gun and melee, backing up a few steps to ws from the sweet spot, O-Bow accuracy is just terrible from any range, so no worrying about acid bolts any more. I sub nin, I pull hate on occasion, and I SC the same way I did before the patch. Everything else is just point click shoot. That's nothing compared to what I did as rng pre-patch.
Maybe I should jump on the /war bandwagon and see how much I can not die, and time my killshots to just barely kill the mob. That is the skill of the post patch rng. But that sounds more like blm to me, and if I wanted to play blm, I'd go into mog and change my main job to blm.
