Official 2009 NBA Playoffs

Honestly? It was an awesome catch-n-shoot. The only error is they should have been sure to deny the ball to Lebron. The contest wasn't great but you have to err on the side of not fouling so you can't go for a block or anything. It wasn't exactly "Wide open", lol. Sounds to me like you're looking at this play through Magic colored glasses. I do agree with your point that I hope this doesn't deflate the Magic. As a Boston fan I have no vested interest in this series really, I just want some good basketball. Hopefully the Magic will focus on all the good, as they really did outplay Cleveland. Cleveland is getting nothing from their supposedly great bench, and usually bench players play worse on the road so the starters are gonna have to do even more in games 3/4. Orlando's in a good spot for an upset right now.

And Anglis, not to nitpick but the situation isn't exactly the same at 1 second lol. He can't exactly create an open shot for someone else.... regardless, it was still a clutch shot.

The Cavs have yet to play well. If they some how just turn it on there is trouble. I dont see it the way a Magic fan would now. The Magic have been playing great.

If the humans on the Cavs can start to play like they did all season this could end faster then people are thinking.. Sure it just may not happen as the Cavs look like kids under pressure. Thats why they play.

And um that shot was rediculous. It doesnt matter how contested the shot was, the difficulty was there. The insane amount of pressure and short amount of time to get it off.. That was Ray Allen like man.

LeBron is literally spilling blood for his team, those guys need to kick it up to his intensity or he's going to break down.

sidenote: I cannot STAND Varejao, dude is such a drama queen and HUGE flopper and just plain annoys the ever living hell out of me.

Yeah I know, I was just saying lol.

Cavs and Lakers are both in for rough rides it seems. I don't think I would like a Denver/Magic finals lol.

What would be so bad about a Magic/Nuggets final? Both teams should be up 2-0 over the Lakers/Cavs and are playing better right now. I guess I just don't see the mass appeal in the "Kobe vs Lebron" aspect of it. Hell, I'm thoroughly enjoying the "Anthony vs Kobe" match up right now. On both sides of the court they are battling it out like two heavy weights and Anthony has really impressed me with his defense. Lebron wouldn't even be on Kobe would he? Seems like it would be a bad match up for both of them.

As far as the shot, it was obviously a great shot, but i just don't think its worthy of all the praise hes going to be getting for it. The notion that it won the game for him after letting a 23 point lead evaporate leaves a dirty taste in my mouth as well. No one is sucking Rashard Lewis's dick after the ridiculous 3 pointer he made in game 1 and that was retarded pressure and heavily contested. And bad defense is bad defense, nothing in your face is a pretty big difference. I don't understand why the hell Turko was on him to begin with, what a terrible choice...way too slow to keep up with him running around. It was a good shot, but eh...its going to go down as probably one of those shots we see over and over again representing "greatness" and I just don't buy into it. I wouldn't be surprised if it is already a part of the "where amazing happens" commercials.

Well that is because you're a Magic fan and I'm not. I'm a Lakers fan so I hope the Lakers make it. If it's Lakers/Magic then fine. If it's Lakers/Cleveland, then even better. I like basketball, but not like I love football, so really, I want the most entertaining game.

OMG Luk and I are pulling for Cavs to take on our nuggets and HOLY SHIT that 3pt shot with one second to go by Lebron had us hysterical!! I take it Denver is not the favorite on this forum, and I will probably be banished from Cali for cheering for them and not Kobe, etc., but that game last night was awesome and we are hoping for more excitement to come~ (Luk has me do play-by-play of the game, I think it amuses him to hear a girl try to sound like Bob Costas)

Dude, it was a great shot, lol. The Rashard Lewis shot was amazing, both of them had me screaming and yelling, but the circumstances make Lebron's a better shot, and make Lebron's get more hype, even though it wasn't as well contested.

The differences:

Lebron's was with 1.0 left on the clock after Turkoglu made an incredible shot to put them up, what seemed like a game-winner at the time.

Lebron's shot saved the series(potentially) for the Cavs. If they go down 2-0, they lose the series, IMO. At 1-1 they still have a chance to win, some would even try to still call them the favorite (not me personally, but some will).

Lebron is Lebron, and Rashard is Rashard, lol. Lebron is the face of the game, and is the best player in the game, therefore it will get thrice the hype of Lewis' shot.

That's all I got, for now.

Your comments should be all we need to read about the shot.. You pretty much nailed the points.

It was a better shot then Rashards and thats that regardless of what team you root for.

Other then Kobe, the Lakers are soft. Odom, Gasol..damn these guys just don't play rough.

Billups is making Fisher look 36.... oh wait.

The playoffs this year have been great.

The Lakers are gassed.

Jesus, can't believe how many fouls were called in the game tonight...no rhythm at all, wish the refs would relax. 86 Free Throws attempted...something needs to be done, this game wasn't that physical. Was pretty much Magic all the way...kind of ugly game for both teams. Easily the worst game of the conference finals.

Know what I do get? The refs can use instant replays to check if a persons foot was on the 3 point line, but they cant look to see if someone fouled someone or not??

That was a very frustrating call, luckily it still ended the way it did.

Because they'd be checking replays all day long. Replaying fouls would take forever and would STILL be objective.

Los Angeles Fakers sure came out to play tonight

Also: This is the first game in either conference final where a team has actually held a lead.
