Although I'd love to be able to do it, it's absolutely clear, as Gregedor said, that SE will not allow certain pieces to be augmented. You can see these coming a mile off, even though you'd like nothing better, there's no way they're ever going to allow you to add something to Byakko's haidate for added emphasis.

My guess would be it will be salable items only and rare. No Rare/Ex
 
acc+10 stp+4 body is enough for sam to get rid of hachimam? If so then it will beat HQ haubergeon due to additional effect: haste +3%.
 
Edit: Im fairly certain it would work, might have to ws in a hachiman piece tho, but certainly worth the added haste

I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly, but I doubt you'd be able to put Haste on any of the 3 current Sam STP bodies (Askar, Usukane, Shinimusha) and you can be absolutely certain they won't allow Haste %+ and STP + to be the two added augments you can put on any other body piece.

Other than that, I'd have to assume you're ruling out the Usukane feet which already does away with Hachiman pieces and has so for a long time.

I misunderstood, they mean the 3% haste u gain from getting rid of a hachiman foot/hands piece, i originally thought u meant on the body

Indeed. SE is obviously going to go through the list rather carefully to pick and choose what items can be upgraded, but it seems unlikely that they'll make it solely low-level gear with zero stat bonuses either.

Assuming that the above theory is accurate, the question is what pieces of arguable "useful" gear they're going to allow bonuses to be placed on, and how difficult to obtain those pieces of gear are going to be once the changes go through.

I think stp+4 is possible from the crystaline prophecy armors. if so then...

dex+5 str+4 acc+10 stp+4 body
dusk gloves, fumas,

will beat

hauby (+1), hachimam, dusk gloves.

trade 10 attack for 3% haste.

...as long as 4 sp is enough ( too tired to do the maths).

I did the math before with a White Tathlum which is +2 STP full time, and wsing with hachi feet it worked, i tested it. So no tathlum and stp+4 on a body piece should make it work, might have to ws in hachi feet
 
I was actually thinking along a completely different track - those people who don't have a Raja's ring, either through taking Sattva/Tamas (mages) or who have yet to complete CoP.

It's pretty tough to hit the 450Delay/46STP if you don't have a Raja's, without making sacrifices elsewhere (Hachiman, Chiv. chain and the like). I was assuming the STP +4 option was more along the lines of people in the above circumstance.

True but can also help people without Usuk-Ane feet achieve a similar build
 
all we know for sure is you can augment the 3 Cryst. prophecy reward armors and the lv 36 gambison armor. right now.

There's some evidence, reading the supposed Augment item stats, that you can Augment weapons, considering that one of the Augments mentions Delay.
 
Possible that the delay can be incorporated into non weapon equipment tho like Enhance Dual Wield items
