Take a guess which games companies these characters represent ;)

Spoiler:
Here's an easy one, the farthest on the left-dood!

Also, Take note, the game is called "Neptune" and the Publisher is Sega.

Color me tired of cross over RPGs and "comedy-ho" on the PS3. I think it's about time to sucker someone else into payin' money for this machine.

Diff'rent strokes, I guess. This looks kinda neat.

Anime characters with those eyes remind me of those dolls in your sisters room that winks at you in the middle of the night where no one else is and no one can fucking prove that you've seen them do it to you!

I guess I don't play JRPG's much 'cause I have no idea what game companies those characters are suppose to represent much less what the heck this game is suppose to be about given the trailer or that magazine clipping.

This isn't (exactly) a cross over this time, Compile Heart's got a very good relationship with Nippon Ichi, Gust, and Idea Factory, so they often ask for parodies, example: Cross Edge

Far Right: Prinny from Nippon Ichi's SRPG series Disgaea.

Center Left: GUST (Alchemy bottle)
Far Left: Idea Factory Logo on Belt.

I think you're getting your lefts and rights mixed up.

On topic, meta game is meta. I'm not very familiar with any of these game companies, but the idea is interesting...I'd probably play it, depending on how it pans out.

I am getting tired of JRPGs, though, especially the board-game type ala FF Tactics...I know that format is popular right now, but if I have to play one more of those I think I may scream. And then kill something.

Whoops. your right, I'll just edit that.

Not exactly, no, but technically it is. To be more clear though, the entire borrowing cast from other games does not set well with me, for RPGs. I'm beginning to think these developers just can't afford to do much work single handedly on the current gen systems, which is a shame, but this kind of stuff is not the answer for me. I've enjoyed numerous games from every one of those studios but now I feel things are just gettin' too cheap and silly. Cross Edge makes the perfect example of everything wrong with what these companies are doin' now on a regular basis. It's cool when it's novelty but when it's the norm it gets old, fast. Look at the story outlines as well, utterly ridiculous.

New trailer with Gameplay:

Hell yeah, Sega franchises such as Alex Kidd and Shinobi are also in this game as well. There are also some screens which I'll be posting soon.

If it comes out during a vacation I'll look into it. I can't let myself be seen playing this at college:wacko:

^^;

This game actually seems rather tame when compared to say...:

Record of Agarest War: This game heavily implies sex

Cross Edge: Dressing up the female characters in stuff like swimsuits (Yes, even Etna from Disgaea)

Fate/Stay Night's Visual Novel (PC Version rather than the PS2 Port): Actual Porn in this game!

So yeah... The game will probably be picked up by NIS, seeing as they're publishing Trinity Universe this month, and they also did bring us Cross Edge. We could always ask them to license it as well.

Edit: We can also ask Sega as well, NIS America can localize the game and Sega can publish. Can't be too hard right?

I dont care about sex or porn in the games. Its more that there appear to be too many lolis..

Didn't really see that much gameplay in the video. It was more or less just showcasing a few special moves and a few minor things. Looks interesting, but hardly next gen. Graphics appear more fitting for a PS2 title. Lots of cutesy anime girl stuff, eh.. I dunno. I'd have to see more on this but as it looks right now, interesting sure, but I'm not really getting a draw to play it.

Compile Heart, Idea Factory, NIS are only just starting to use full 3D models and environments in their games, they are still getting used to it.

I don't think "getting used to it" isn't exactly a valid excuse to have subpar graphics.
Then again, I didn't think they were subpar in the video. But I've had that argument come up before concerning other titles.

Re: Official Super Dimension Game: Neptune Thread - Gameplay Trailer & Sega Reference

The game is now out, here's the opening along with Trophies IN ENGLISH!

Also, an 8 minute preview:

Re: Official Super Dimension Game: Neptune Thread - Gameplay Trailer & Sega Reference

I was actually half interested until I started to think about it. Those girls look like 14? I know their characters may not be that age but... I felt really odd? Like I don't care about young characters being in games but don't dress them in almost nothing. If anyone came in my room while I was playing a computer game I wouldn't be embarrassed, even if it was my friends and I was busting out a little bit of Mario or something. If they saw me playing this, they'd probably call the police.

Although I suppose they are just conforming to the pervy nature of Anime Fan boys, it sells well I guess? Maybe I'm looking too much into this.
