PS3 Official "inFamous" Thread

Alright one thing that's for sure is this game is a hell of a lot of fun to play, for me at least, but I love the open world games and I love superheros. There was a point today that I had to pee and didn't get up for like an hour because I was having too much fun to pause. No joke.

I did run into a glitch so far. One of the baddies fall through the floor. It's not a big deal. And yeah it's kind of on the easy side. I realize I can increase the difficulty settings, but I'm having so much fun that I'm afraid about tweaking anything that could take that away.

I actually like the voice acting, and I like the story in general, except the guy's friend Zeke I think is kind of annoying. Though really he's not a bad guy. I finished the first island and I did it 100%. There is good variety to the side missions and I like the upgrade system. They're both balanced right so it doesn't feel boring or like grinding. This story is pretty mediocre compared to a good RPG or GTA4.... BUT for just an action game it hangs with the best of them, like Uncharted or Heavenly Sword, and it's fun. Definitely a great game, hopefully at this point we're past the whole "this game is worth buying a $400 PS3?!?!" phase and can just judge these games on their $60 price tag which this one is worth easily.

I LOVE climbing to the top of a tall building while being followed by like 12 enemies then with my maxed out "Ground Burst" just dropping down and watching the insanity. I guess the only minor complaint is that he almost always has to grab onto something, especially when I dont want him to. Still a great game so far though.

The ps3 finally has a game that i want. Must resist temptation...but am looking for a cheap used pstriple now...

Chasym generally speaking is an indiscriminate lover of games. But he also tends to download the pirated games to make sure he likes them before supposedly buying em, which he can't do with PS3 which is probably his biggest deterrent.

On the third island now. The story gets better and my newest power is REALLY cool. New islands have new missions and this game's pace is too fast to get repetitive. Definitely going to be playing through this game again - I picked the "good" path and it's actually pretty hard, especially as the game progresses to stay good. Not to mention I'm kind of itching with all these powers to do a GTA style rampage and just take out hundreds of people. I think I'll combine my evil playthrough with my hard play through. It'll definitely be useful when fighting bad guys to not have to care about hitting civilians. Those motherfuckers are everywhere.

By the way... fighting MUTANT HOBOS!!! What could be more badass than that?!!?!?

I was worried when I bought this it would be fun for a few hours like Crackdown but then I would get sick of it, but that hasn't happened yet. It is tough playing as a hero, because I want to blast cars at gang members and ground punch from high buildings, but I don't want to hit civilians. I can't wait until I can just go through and murder everything.

So this game is very fun. But unlike some here i get very very bored when playing for more then a two hour period. Thats not a knock to the game honestly, i like this game alot so far.

I have hit some glitch problems but its not breaking the game... The one thing that is pissing me off is my uncontrolable firing hand.

If i am moving from left to right around a corner i want my right hand to be the firing hand.. Right to left i want my left hand to fire. The game just seems to be picking a hand at random for me to fire with.

When i am on an object or wall and fire down and to my left.. There are times the game wants me to take this shot with my right hand. I mean WTF.

Is there a solution to the firing hand thing?

Osyris, you seem to hate on every PS3 only game XD and always some bad luck with em too O.o

I hate this game?

The glitch that i experience is such a minimal thing its irrelevant to my gameplay. There have been three times now where the camera just starts spinning like crazy around my character... I even let go of the controler and it continues. This only lasts about 5 seconds or so though.

My issue of being bored is not the games fault.. I know it sounds silly but when a game is sandbox like this i just know there is so much to do i get overwhelmed and it turns to boredom. Its happened with every GTA, Saints Row, Crackdown and even recently Farcry2. That is no knock on infamous, its just me and the way i attack games.

Now my firing issue is the only thing i am pissed about. It has just happened to me again. I am on a rooftop shooting downward and slightly right towards an enemy... But my right hand is firing... I just cant shoot from this angle with that hand. I am getting past it though man. There are other fun ways to attack the enemy is all it comes down to.

So no i dont hate this game. Thank you, come again.

Just beat this game as a hero, holy shit at the ending. I didn't expect that of all things. Can't wait to try the infamous playthrough.

I had to follow my tradition and be the bad guy first. I will probably run this game back to back for both stories though.

Osy you can switch hands by clicking in a controller stick. It's just like Uncharted which is to me... made of win, don't need to explain the advantage to you.

Ahh thank you. That is going to make the shooting enjoyable to me.

MGS4, Valkyrie Chronicles, Uncharted, Killzone 2???

See ive never been a MGS fan at all, i dont know why, not that i can name reasons i dont like it or anything, i just never got into it, never even completed one.

VC i dont know much about, ill look into it.

Uncharted interests me but not enough for me to actually want to own a ps3

Killzone, well...after playing 1 i vowed to never play another killzone haha. though, i am sure if i got a ps3 i would give it a go.

I see, I miss understood :P but I get what you mean. I do that too. I have what I call "Gamer ADD" like in Oblivion and Fallout 3 and now this and such I find too much to do that I just kinda put the main quest aside XD

Farcry 2 was the worst case of this problem i have so far. I think Farcry 2 is incredible... There is just soooo much to do and such a wide open world. I tire myself just organizing and over organizing the path i want to take through the game.

I am not letting it destroy my infamous gameplay though. I just need to break off faster then i would in a non sandbox game.

MGS, I won't try to change your opinion about it.

Valkyria Chronicles, freaking amazing SRPG, the art style is also incredible.

Uncharted, it's by Naughty Dog, who are, imo, the best developers in the world.

Killzone 2, you'd be surprised at how much better it is than the first, sure the plot is a little iffy but it's still good. Also, MP kicks ass (Btw, Osy, Party system inc with patch 1.27)

Ok, one topic, I freaking love this game, I've finished the first island last night and got to the island of mutant hobos (Just win Sucker Punch! WIN) aaaaand I got my Uncharted 2 Beta key this morning in the email. I'll make a thread when beta starts if someone doesn't beat me to the punch (hint hint :))

I am very interested though... Alot of people on the board are very high on this game yet low on crackdown. This is no leap ahead of crackdown... There is pretty electricity instead of bullets is all.

That said.. I enjoyed crackdown and i am enjoying this.

Crackdown wasn't as fun imo cause the story was a bit more boring, character wasn't interesting, most of the mechanics were meh and the game was terribly repetitive with side quests and such soo ya :P at least, so I think. This isn't so repetitive.
