PS3 Official White Knight Chronicles Thread - WKC2 Set for July 8th. New Trailer.

two things i don't like about this game ....

1 - drop rate on items the is so low , unless you want to spend time and money on Georama , get ready to to send alot of time gathering items

Hey Dayner, I found this out the other day, dunno if you knew or not. Drop rates are based on location of killshot and Guild Ranking. i.e. to get a higher rate on dragon tails, kill dragons from behind. Likewise, to get a higher rate on dragon arms, kill them on their legs. The Neoseeker WKC Wiki has a pretty good list on its bestiary about what drops based on which guild rank.

2 - quest are not offline friendly , since you do it alone "as the avatar , not with the party members " a lot of quest become hard if not impossible to complete

That doesn't bother me so much as I haven't really had a hard time finding people to do the quests with. If I have issues, normally I'll go repeat a quest I've already done that someone else is doing, and ask for help on mine, and people are generally easy to get along with and will help! Also, Neoseeker's WKC forum has a lot of help requests for specific quests.

other then that .... i like the game[/QUOTE]

friend request well be sent then Tristam ;p

Doubt I'll be buying the sequel unless it promises a better end game. Haven't put this in my system since beating it twice and hitting GR7 2 weeks in.

update: addressing issues that Dayner was worried about with farming items -- it gets easier as you increase your Guild Rank. Better items drop more readily with a higher rank, of course.

The endgame was nonexistent in the single-player mode, which bothered the crap out of me. It bothered Stine even more and she didn't even play it. I think this game left her with a feeling that brings back memories of the second Pirates of the Caribbean film (an ending which outright angered her).

The second play-through was immensely more enjoyable than the first, at least for me. I'm not "finishing" the second play so I can keep access to all the areas, so I can farm up materials for my weapons and armor for online play. Once I reach lv50, I will more than likely finish the game again and rebirth, so I can max out some more skill areas.

I'm pretty well obsessed with this game now, even if some of the online quests (go fuck yourself Big Red) are monotonous. However, unlike a game like FFXI, if you hunt monsters in quests, you're pretty much guaranteed good drops every time.

Opening to WKC2 leaked, but I have no clue on how long it'll be up for. Also, yes, it's a terrible quality, but I've yet to find a better version of this.

First things first

"White Knight Chronicles The plot that time forgot"
"White Knight Chronicles Same thing with less plot!"
"White Knight Chronicles is due to release in 2016 for the Ps3"

Also I give this such a massive meh I won't even preorder it.

I enjoyed the first game a lot the first *two* playthroughs I did with it. But getting to level 50 and upgrading weapons are such arduous tasks that I put it down a month ago and I haven't really picked it up since. One can only kill so many red giants for Guild Rank points, you know.

I'm still on my first playthrough, mainly due to Uni taking up my time. I think I'm near the end of the first playthrough though.

Unless you're really a glutton for punishment sucker completion whore, I wouldn't even worry about upgrading the weapons. There are established groups out there already that only run with each other, so finding groups to do quests is hard, and you'll tire FAST of doing the same solo-able ones for GR.

Wait, this sounds like an MMO.

The official word on WKC2's Japanese release will be revealed this Thursday.

I'd be willing to pop in WKC from time to time to quest with some of you guys.
Although I think I'm right on the edge between lower and higher rank quests, and Monster Hunter is eating up most of my free time, I still thought this game was pretty fun. Just ran out of people to play with.

I know two other people who'd also be willing to quest online in WKC very soon if your interested. We all had Uni work to do, but now we have free time ;P

Uhh... what time's good for you, GMT-wise?

Uhh... what time's good for you, GMT-wise?

Any time is good with me, especially after this Friday when I'm stuck indoors for two weeks ;P

I'll need to ask the others though as I think one of them is still at the university halls, so he's unable to play games online.

I guess uh... anytime after 9PM GMT when I'm not working would be good.
Don't want to have you guys staying up too late/waking up too early.

That's good with me, I'll see what the others say. One thing worries me though, are servers region locked? I hope not.

Edit: I do want to mention though, I am definitely aiming for this game to be my first Platinum trophy above all else.

Edit 2: Oh, and I finished my first playthrough, gonna start my second eventually, I want to do some quests first.

Out of curiosity Xal, which quests have you done?

I've done:

Boot Camp I (S Rank Solo)
Brave Litton's Plight I (S Rank Solo)
Memorial Servant I (S Rank Solo)
A Grave Matter I (A Rank Solo)

From what I read EU and NA are on the same server.
And I can tell you I've finished more quests than those. Last I remember, I was working on a series of dragon hunting quests.
