PS3 Official White Knight Chronicles Thread - WKC2 Set for July 8th. New Trailer.

British commercial I take it? :P

I'm officially bored with this game. There's nothing driving me to finish my georama and no real motivation to seek people out to continue those quests with. Back to playing Dragon Age and getting a character ready for the expansion there I guess.

FF13 in a few weeks...

I feel the same way. There's no directive you are working for other than to do one insignificant quest to the next. By insignificant I mean no real stories, very little challenge, and repetitive. Unless my georama and guild rank carry over to the sequel its really not worth doing all this stuff.

I'm still diggin' it, but I'm a solo play fan so it is still challenging enough to keep me in the saddle.

I was really into this game and still would be if the end-game isn't such a buzz kill

You spend all this time grinding the same quests to rank up to get to supposedly more challenging quests, just to find out they are upscaled versions of the same ones you were just grinding.. Exactly the same.

I don't know of anyone at the very highest ranks but I can assume it's probably similar.

It also pisses me off that there is zero originality to online questing at all. It's all the same enemies. You fight the same shit from the first 5 minutes of the game to the final boss. Single player, multiplayer, doesn't matter. There is absolutely no originality whatsoever. It's like the damn South Park episode, killing the same wild boars for days. Except, instead of wild boars.. it's... Oh wait, it's actually wild boars. And Jackals.

I traded it in towards paying off FFXIII and they almost wouldn't do it. I was able to muscle $25 out of them by accepting store credit. I hear that some stores won't take it at all since it's impossible to sell.

First impressions of this game were like, "Wow, this game is sweet. How could you give it such bad reviews?"

I'd burn the disc, if I didn't have the chance to get money for it, now.

I thought you played FFXI Tymon :) you should be used to fighting the same mobs from 1 to the end XD

Yeah, pretty much the biggest disappointment a game has given me in a long time. Considering how long we waited for it and whatnot, the online gameplay is just grinding. Everything is just grinding in this game. I'm gonna try to sell it off and put the money towards FF13 I guess.

Edit: Ele, theres a reason people finally quit FFXI :P

Yeah, except there was a good deal of variety in FFXI as far as which mobs inhabit which areas. And there were always tons of new types in the expansion areas.

At least, they had different names, and sometimes skin changes.

They didn't even change the names in WKC. They just buffed up the level a little bit and called it a day.

Honestly, no endgame goal apart from new armor is a big downer. It's like playing the original Monster Hunter online without the payoff of being able to fight Fatalis/dual hunts?

I read the review and decided not to get it. I took it for it's word!

I rented it for a week, played it once, and never popped it back in again. So glad I didn't go and buy this.

All that matters now everyone, is FFXIII.

21 days to go folks.

Actually, 19 days to go.

Anyways, it's a Level 5 RPG, I didn't expect anything except a lot grinding with some minigame/sidequests with possibly a bonus dungeon after beating the game.
See Dark Cloud 1/2, weapon synthesis grinding, Steve grinding, fishing, Spheda, monster form leveling.
Rogue Galaxy, weapon synthesis grinding, Insectron, factory, MIO, quarries, Seven Star Sword leveling.

For WKC it's just online grinding as they focused on that aspect more than the single player, which I don't mind.

I picked this game up last week. Being a mediocre fan (at best) of the Final Fantasy series overall (in before the joygasm over FFXIII), I wanted something different. I deplored the game for the first couple of days I had it, but after I took down my first troll (outside of the one in the Parma-to-Balandor guided cutscene), I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The only major gripe I have with it is that you spend so long customizing *your* character, only to end up as "that creepy guy in the background". Only one mention of you, and even that's a sidelong glance, really.

I am immensely enjoying the gameplay, I haven't even really begun touching enhancements to my weapons or armor, and as it stands (or until any of you ever possibly pick it back up or play online) I'm not interested at all in the online play.

two things i don't like about this game ....

1 - drop rate on items the is so low , unless you want to spend time and money on Georama , get ready to to send alot of time gathering items

2 - quest are not offline friendly , since you do it alone "as the avatar , not with the party members " a lot of quest become hard if not impossible to complete

other then that .... i like the game

I noticed the population is tanking for this game pretty quickly, especially since the release of FF13.
Despite my lack of time to do anything fun these days, I've managed to get online every so often. To my dismay, I've found that I can't even find Best Served Cold II quests consistently (via the World Map auto-join function).

Tristam, Dayner and anyone else who may still be playing:
If you're up for playing online anytime, add me to the PSN (Mystix123) or to the WKC Friend's List (Mystix123.World). I don't mind running lower level quests at all.
Right now, Fridays are almost guaranteed that I'll be online (at least in the evening). I should be able to play much more frequently between April and August.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the population will see a drastic increase anytime soon, so an arrangement like this might be ideal to be able to progress through the online (and have fun with it).

This is awesome.
That was hilarious. One of the worst tools you can give a gamer is the ability to take pictures in game.

Well that's pretty lame :\ oh well. And anyone else having problems with Youtube these days? >.>

Looks like the graphics didn't get any better.
Ah hell, I'll probably buy it anyway if the sequel hits our shores.
