Why's that? I'm liking it.

Game name is Anaeran.

My Georama is level 4 so far. Pretty cool feature. Wish territory expanded a bit faster than it does but I've got a good amount of stuff crammed into a tiny ass space while still making it look decent.

Friend me on Geonet if you want to come shop.

And as far as you guys saying it's such a bad game-- I see the flaws and I wouldn't say it's in the top 20 RPGs I've played in my lifetime, but there's no way it's as bad as you're saying it is. 7.5/10 for me.

I think the only way someone could think this is a bad game is if you go in looking for flaws.

Storyline is a pretty generic one for the genre and there are parts that will make you scratch your head and wonder what kind of drunk retarded monkey wrote the dialogue for that particular scene.

Having your main character whine and moan the name Cisna every 5 minutes while walking around the world takes away from the heroic feeling you're supposed to get from controlling him.

Equipment art is pathetic so far. Especially the armor sets. I seriously debated keeping characters in their starting gear just for the looks rather than upgrade it's so bad.

The lip syncing is way off to the point where the only way you know who's talking is by the text on the bottom of the screen and the camera panning in for a close up of their mostly-emotionless faces.

The AI for party members is limited-- stuff like spellcasters using fire spells on fire mobs when they have ice spells on their bar is retarded.

Manually having to trade items between your party members to change equipment is annoying, though not really a 'flaw'.

Difficulty of the game overall is incredibly easy and not challenging in the slightest (so far anyways).

Many of the advertised "50 skills per weapon tree" are absolutely useless and not worth ever using.

Does anybody give a shit about Kara and her story? She feels like she's just a throw-in character.

Minimal interaction between your avatar character and the main crew-- would be nice to have him play more of a role (though he might later on idk).

-----------------------------------------------------------

Those are my complaints so far. For some reason I haven't figured out yet... I can't put it down. The game drew me in from the time I left my starting city and on. Writing this is making me want to play even though I've only listed flaws here lol

Caesar is the best character in the game btw.

Guild Rank 4 so far, and my Georama's at level 4. Still haven't uploaded it, but I'm thinking of having it Lumberjack + Mage.

Games cost a lot these days, therefore they are more open for criticism. This game just doesn't have much going for it. Maybe at $20 it will.

Or they were hoping for a good storyline, zing!

Exactly.. And it feels like a childs game as far as difficulty goes. I was expecting alot more from this game. You dont need to look for flaws in the game its just bad.

Games fun enough, but all I have to say is that its not quite the game I was waiting for after the TGS 06 trailer :<

I think I like the way combos were set up in that TGS video over the way they are now.
If the devs had put more effort into the battle system, I think stuff like what happened in the video (team attacks, the over-the-top combo Eldore used) could've been done. Maybe we'll see them in the sequel.

Absolutely not, when playin' the single player mode they just jump right the hell out for you. Lucky for it the multiplayer is a saving grace. Which, Osy, MP is much, much harder than single player.

Anyway, I'm about to take my Disc and have a little curbstompin' fun with it... I'm right before the Sun King fight, at the second to last warp portal, and my game keeps freezing up. What makes it worse, there is a logic stone there in which the save doesn't "stick" to. So I'm having to start from the very beginning of when you enter the palace every time this shitty thing locks up. Seems like every time I decide to by a PS3 game I end up having a headache to deal with...

Sucks to be you. :D

I like this game a lot. I have not really focused much on the story. I rather enjoy just fighting and online questing. It feels so natural, like playing FFXI without the downtime. Is it the best game ever? Naw. It does have what every RPG should really have. Online co-op quests

Flaws? Well I don't quite feel like it meshes perfectly in terms of a class structure being appropriately balanced. I am trying to be an attack mage, and my attacks aren't much more than most melees but I'm hindered by MP requirements. I'd like the quests to have less monsters but harder monsters. The storyline feels generic.

I think the voice acting is pretty normal. It's a lot less annoying than most JRPGs but it's not a standout like Uncharted 2 or anything. I think the graphics are pretty average. They're not ugly but they're not on par with recent releases. I think the art style saves it. It's very easy on the eyes and I am never playing it and think it looks ugly. Just rarely looking at it and am overly impressed. On the other hand the game plays great. I really wish Level 5 were involved with FFXI. They could have made it a much smoother game with more fun. They perfectly meld action and rpg styles, something that FFXI never quite did. On the other hand, they lose the depth and tactics that made FFXI worth playing for years, this is something that we'll be done with in a few weeks.

If nothing else, it's fun if you kind of miss FFXI gameplay, but don't want to go back. It's also a nice preview of what may come from FFIV.

I'd give it a solid 8 in general but for me it's a 10/10 personally cause it's just what I need right now. I just wish I had more time to play it but during the week I'm pretty much working from wake til sleep and will be for the next 14 weeks.

Yeah, it does. I've busted my ass to get this crappy SP over with so all I had left to care for was MP and now the SP wont let me go D:

Seems it is a semi widespread problem, happened to IGN and some other people pop up if you Google about the game freezing. Apparently though its just a disc flaw so back to Gamecrazy I go.

This is why the game gets much love from me. Story aside, EVERYTHING about it has this FFXI feel. A lot of the areas I entered felt like something I could imagine being in FFXI. Even in the way you traverse them, i.e.the drops and ledges, the portals, waiting for the wind to change for a dandelion ride, etc., etc. Ah, yeah, anyone else notice that when you drop down a hole it looks the exact same as it did when you and your party would do the same in FFXI? Nice little tidbit there. Unfortunately though, it doesn't quite follow the equipment design... Whoever design the weapons and equipment for this game must be a real fuckin' traditionalistic, corny man of epic proportions.

The music that cues while you're just walkin' around is fantastic as well. That's probably the thing I have enjoyed the most after the gameplay and design of the areas.

Eh, the music to me feels lacking. Some of the pieces, namely the one from the opening movie, are absolutely fantastic. But the battle theme, what should be considered the centerpiece of any JRPG, is dull. I've taken to playing my own music or the FFXI OST when I'm redoing quests or running through old areas.

I agree with you on the battle music. I kind of like it but it is lame and I'm sick of hearing it. I don't like it unless it draws out though and you get to hear past a minute or so of it. The beginning of it really pisses me off. Some of the boss themese are cheap too, like the music that cues when you fight Belcitane. I was more or less talking about the music when your walking around. I especially like the music from the last dungeon, which is used earlier in the game but I forget where, Greede City, The Underbelly and Frass Chasm. I like the main theme as well, but I wish they had left the vocals in it.
