6.0 isn't "pretty low". 3.something is pretty low.
People need to stop judging games on the 7-10 point standard.
 
Just picked up my copy and got talked into putting 5 bucks down on FF13 while I was at it. Hopefully it doesn't suck xD
 
The reviews got me to cancel my order but I'll pick it up from Fry's in a month or two when it is under $40.
 
See, I wouldn't let the reviews ruin this game for me cause I've wanted to play it since I saw the first trailer many many years ago and thought it was a escaflowne game. And usually those online reviews are morons. I mean, has anyone seen those two guys play Bioshock 2 for 15 mins? They fucking suck.

I think you need to unlock online, Xal. I'm not seeing anything as of yet in terms of even getting online.

Battle system's pretty fun so far. I can see where some of the complaints stem from, but having played FFXI for how long I'm not really irked by them.
 
Hum, it's not too far in to unlock online quests.
You need to get past the castle event, and then after you leave Balendor you can access Geonet from any Crystal, then choose Hometown and pick a room.
 
I know, I unlocked it a few hours ago. I did a few quests with random people. Still trying to figure out how to make my own town thingy.
 
Eh, not really sure myself.
I gave Caesar a bow, and Eldore a Great Sword. Not too sure what I want Yulie to main yet, so I'm just kinda spreading her skills evenly across Sword and Divine Magic.
 
Still have to wait 'till Friday for me >.<

6.0 is pretty low for a game that receives epic hype. lol
 
Most of it internutty, though. Hardly anyone I've talked to even knew what this game was, let alone knew it came out today.
It's by no means GOTY, but it's hardly as bad as the reviews are saying it is.
 
Had this game released out side of Japan 1-2 years ago, like it should have, it would have been epic, people would have remembered it, and critics would have raved about it.

Anyway, I'm enjoyin' the game. The FFXI nostalgia is just awesome after bein' apart from the game for this long and not wanting to go back, yet wanting a more casual experience of the like.
 
So much FFXI nostalgia in this game, it's crazy.

It's also definitely not a 5.0-6.0 score. I would put it more into the upper 7s or 8s

I'll be sold if it has solid, lasting multiplayer. If it has that, It'll be my favorite current RPG on the PS3 for sure.
 
As if there wasn't enough reason for this to be compared to FFXI...

Alright, after playing in the field I'm a little frustrated by the control of my partner. I want him to be an auto tank. I have provoke set to number 1 but don't know how to get him to use it. I put him on auto but that didn't work. I tried making a combo out of provoke but it can't be put in combo's.

Any idea how to better control your companion?
 
Control him directly?
