Maat = Too Weak.




Long story made short:

Hit 70 and 15k into...
Capped off skills...
Got meds and equips...
Created macros, just for him...
Traded Test...
Wasted way too much time buffing up, and whatnot when I got in...
Time was called on me when I had 90% life left and 95% tp.

He was toast, but alas, he was saved by the bell.

...Got another test. Thank you Gid and Nutty for coming along. ^^

Back at the BC. I came. I saw. I kicked his ass.

Damn time limit, ruining my shutout victory and wasting my time.



It was fun, and I'm glad I fought him and didn't steal.
Actual fight time lasted around 2 minutes, and involved him whiffing an awful lot.
I expected a bit more with all the shit he was talking.


After 100 days play time, I finally got my first character through this stage. ^^
2 years, this April.

Way back when, I saw a video of a guy on a different server do this, and it appeared to me that this would be the only way I'd be happy getting past him.

There are plenty of THFs on Quetzy who have fought Maat also.

Steal ftw? No thanks. I steal coins, not victory.

I meleed Maat too. First testimony I ran in totally unprepared and just tried to steal from him. Failed that. Knowing my steal (I went almost 20 dynamises without 1 steal with AF steal gear on and 4 hours of missing a testimony >.<) I decided to just suck it up and try a melee attempt. Wasn't that hard^^

Flee out of his range when he uses Perfect Dodge ^_~ Took him down after about 3 dancing edges.

I only got one sleep bolt to stick on em. The rest all didn't add an added effect ._.

Melee > Steal. Very easy if you can afford to spend money on Potions and Icarus Wing etc. I don't think I even had capped evasion ^^

Yeah he's not too hard, but he also doesn't leave much room for mistakes...Since he hits pretty hard.
Crit + counter and crit + howling fist scared me at one point, but that was follwed by a number of whiffs and me kicking his sorry ass.


Wish I didn't run out of time the first attempt. That was near flawless.
Old bastard.

I saw the whole fight ans Sneaks realy layed the beat down on his crusty ass, old bastard didnt have a chance.
 
can u tell me ur streategy? ; ; im a lvl 70 thf geared up for this, too. and i have capped eva <_<.

i alrdy tried to fight him once and failed miserably ; ; i got him to like 75% with SA DE, then got him to 60% with melee-ing, but his 200 hit punches were too much for me... he didnt miss too much =\

Go in nude. This could just be superstition, but I wasn't willing to take a chance.

Put on Opo-Opo necklace and sleep potion up to 100% tp...Or more if that's your thing.

Equip melee gear (for Maat I used almost exclusively accuracy and evasion gear).

Use blink band and instant reraise.

Drop a hi-pot to recover that HP gained from gear instantly.

Activate Sneak Attack and run into the arena.

Get behind the old fart and attack (SA onry).

Have a DE macro and an icarus wing macro right next to each other.
Hit DE, icarus wing, and DE again. SC bonus should be around 160-180.

He'll PD.

Flee (with AF feet on), and run circles around the arena perimeter and do not let him touch you.

When his PD wears, lock on and melee, while activating your PD.

Now is the time to use any medicines and hi-pots, etc. that you may have brought. Smart money brings more than enough.

Build tp back up to 100% for DE, or in my case, kill him with normal melee attacks before you even get close to that.



I used Squid Sushi.
H.Harpe and evasion shield.
My marksmanship is capped, but seemed to be a complete waste of time.
Scorp Harness, War Gloves, DEX rings, Evasion Torque, Minuet earring, Drone earring, Amemet +1, Emp Pin, AF feet, AF legs, Survival Belt.


Try not to let HP dip below 500-600...Or you could be one shotted.
