Ok, so I just got my Wii last week and I'm looking to buy Okami because it's awesome and I haven't played it yet. But I've heard that the controls are very touchy for the Wii and it's difficult to play because of it. I still want to buy it, but my bf told me to wait because we're going to borrow it from out friend (who has it for PS2). Is it still good on Wii or is it better on another console?

Well, it's only been released on PS2 and Wii.

The game is awesome and legendary. Although, it didn't get the attention it deserved.

NiGHTS into Dreams for Sega Saturn was a great game, but it got overshadowed by a fatal flaw. The Launch of the game was ill-timed. NiGHTS came out just around the same time Super Mario 64 and the Nintendo 64 came out... Mario ECLIPSED NiGHTS.

Same thing with Okami... The PS2 version came out just a few days before the Nintendo Wii launched... and the PlayStation 3 launched just one week later.

Okami didn't stand a chance. A great game shadowed by the launch of a new console.

I have the PS2 and have long since beaten it from top to bottom. The game is very long for an action RPG and will keep you very busy to do everything in the game.

The gimmick of Okami is that you use Amaterasu's wolf tail as a Paintbrush to make Sumi-e style Japanese paintings and affect your environments around you. The paintbrush was originally controlled with the PS2's Left and Right dual Analog Sticks. But the Wii version uses the Wiimote as a paintbrush.

Apparently, Capcom didn't do a great job of calibrating the Wiimote's sensitivity and accuracy when compared with the game. So the rest of the game controls fine, but the paintbrushing aspect is a bit tough to get used to.

To my knowledge, they haven't added anything new to the Wii version of Okami, and it's just a straight port from console to console. I could be wrong though.

Ultimately, it's not a question of "which is better", but rather "which do you prefer?"

Either way, I think you'll be thoroughly satisfied with Okami. I certainly was, and I'd gladly play it again today.

Played the HELL out of it on ps2, and going well through the Wii version. I honestly like the Wii version better. The controls do take some getting used to, but that might be a couple of things for me.
1) I have a small room. Therefore my actions have to be that much more precise.
2) I played the ps2 version. Timing is much more a factor, and I almost never think to dodge with the Wii version, (moving the nunchuck in the direction you want to dodge), just because I'm so involved with the rest of the game, and especially if I need to draw during the fight.

However, I will tell you, actually "drawing" the moves, is sooo much more fun. And once you get past the little nuances of the game's controls, it's generally pretty easy. Another half a foot back for me would make drawing straight lines much easier. I'll be the first to admit, I get better battle rankings, take less damage, and go through the game easier on the ps2, but it doesn't really matter, and the Wii just makes it that much more fun that I don't even care.

It's not hard to get absorbed into Okami. With the Wii controls, it makes it that much easier and more fun. Although with the rosaries, your arm does get kinda tired =P

Also, I'm about 18 hours through this playthrough, and it seems to be a straight port.
