A college somewhere is doing a musical called We Will Rock You it's all Queen music. I can't remember which one.
FFVII had some good tracks I am surprised no one brought that up besides Sephiroth.
Kind of off topic, I guess, but apparently, according to that quiz a lot of people have in their signatures (I'm looking at you, Romperstomper) I'm Laguna. Go figure. I find it pretty odd considering my ingame fighting music in FFXI is Man With a Machine Gun and the only character in FFVIII that I could really tolerate was actually Laguna.
Serious and Empathetic? Uh, sure.

Yeah... ever since I started liking FF games and heard of MIDIs I've always listened to FF songs from every FF game from then and now still. I'll even listen to old songs currently, MP3 versions off my PC while I'm playing FFXI, instead of listening to the current music playing in FFXI.
One of my favourite FF songs to this day is still You're not alone from FF9.

If you all are looking for a insane amount of video game soundtracks, just google Galbadia Hotel, you'll find just about any MP3 there.

Amazing the melodies and musical complexities that were arranged in old school games, such a limited sound range producing such powerful music. surely there is much to be learned and admired from FF music of the past. Music being a key note in any RPG's success, music sets the mood in ways nothing else can. a fight isn't epic till it's being fought to an epic tune. also, there are some really awesome remixes and interpretations of songs out there, and many songs have been converted from digital sound to instruments with stunning success and heart wrenching quality. great warrior on electric guitar..... mmmm sexah

I've never really listened to rpg music, or almost any game's music. I enjoy KH's music, that's about the only game I can think of that I don't listen to my own music and turn off the games(just the music, not the sound effects and stuff). And alot of times when I fight a boss I'll put on Sephiroths theme redid for Advent Children, but that's about it.

As far as complete OST I have to go with FFVI as my overall favorite. But there were songs from FF IX, and others that I liked. Sephiroths theme I think is my favorite all time FF song. I was just loved it when it came on in Advent Children.
And as for current FF, I loved the Promathia fight song of this game.

I loved FFVIII's music, everytime I heard it I felt like I needed to play the game again (and I love FFVIII..it isn't my favorite but it's a good game I don't care what you all think!!)
FFVII's music reminds me whne we first got the game..mostly the Mako Reactor song.

Not a lot of people mentioned FFT. I thought that game had a pretty good soundtrack. There were a lot of good battle songs in that game. I personaly enjoyed FFVII's soundtrack the best. Espically the beginning part of the game because as far as memories go, those songs from the midgar part of the story brings back some good times. But the overall soundtrack is one of my favorites.
Edit: Also I know this is a little off topic but does anyone know where I can get a hold of donkey kong country OST 1,2, and 3? Been hunting like crazy for these and had no luck. If it's illegal to post then just P.M me. Thanks.
