again.. peregrine.. you say the RDM shoulda leveled dagger.. forgetting that a RDM Dagger and Sword DoT isn't that great. A RDM with Exalibur will do FAR MORE DoT than a RDM with the knife. RDM get shit for WS for knife. Atleast our sword WS are atleast a bit better. And a RDM doesn't need to have that MP Drain shit anyways.. we have far more ways to get the MP we need. Aspir, Convert, refresh, drinks all come to mind. Throw in Ethers.. we don't need some crappy WS giving us MP. AND FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME!! RDM DO NOT GET DANCING EDGE!!! And I DOUBT that he uses that sword to exp.. he prolly just uses it to screw around and solo. There is no reason for a RDM to really upgrade any Relic weapon other than to solo.

You'd get Mercy Stroke, numbskull. Plus two MP drain abilities. Heck, you'd make better use of a dagger than a thief would. If it's all about the weaponskill, choose the 150 delay dagger that will give you the weaponskill in no time flat. I can almost guarantee you that mercy stroke would do more damage on anything that checks T and below than KOTR. Why?

Because Excalibur is a paladin's weapon.

Final level relic weapons can almost redefine a class. It changes the rules completely because it's so awesome and powerful. Would either one make it worthwhile for the RDM to use it in a party setting, etc? I don't know. Therefore, the sword is a RDM's best bet.

I don't believe there is an actual goal that dictates whether a player has won at this game. Goals are set and goals are attained. I have met goals in this game I never thought possible. Now I have new goals that are even more difficult.

You are not a rdm, yet you find it easy to put down one that has attained a goal that they may have set the day they bought this game. What gives you the right? What gives you the right to call someone stupid for attaining an expensive item?

You continually question other peoples decisions regarding their gaming experience. That makes you look like an asshole. This rdm attained a goal that you will most likely never will, however, you cannot say one nice thing about it. That makes you look like you are jealous. You bring this continued flaming upon yourself. Why don't you just play the game you want to play and "win" how you want to win and stop questioning the goals of others. If I had a rdm in an endgame xp party I wouldnt say a word about them meleeing if they had relic.

Someone spends 160mil on something and they can do whatever the fuck they please imo.

actually it's more around 1billion gil with the prices of coins today.. it was 300mil when the prices were 5k. Anyways.. RDM do not get vorpal blade unless we sub WAR. And Peregrine.. no.. WE DO NOT NEED THAT MUCH MP CRAP to help us out.. we need DAMAGE. A good RDM can handle MP easily enough. I never run outta MP when solo-ing. I have no down time to rest MP (unless it's like a doll that goes BOOOM) and I do far more DoT with my joyeuse then with any dagger I'd use. For a RDM.. Excalibur is the best relic weapon we can get.

Well poison would suck ass for soloing since you need to be able to sleep the mob.

why would a RDM in their right mind poison a mob they are soloing? A RDM wants to sleep the mob if things start going bad. Only on NMs and HNM that can't be slept if we try and solo might poison be of use.. and we already have Bio II, Dia II, and Poison II on our own.. with BLM sub even more DoT spells. And Knights of The Round will do more damage than the Dagger's WS from what I've read.

one thing i really wanna point out regarding the rdm choice of sword in stead of relic dagger...

MANDAU HAS POISON EFFECT!

and we all know sometimes when you solo hard stuff there are occasions that you have to sleep the mob to buy you time to rebuff, recast utusemi and such. just like what us thfs do with sleep bolts + sneak atk.

now if the rdm really did choose dagger in stead of excalibur... i'd cry a river for him...

with higher dmg and the special effect of dmg proportional to health, momenterily invincible effect after KoR, sword seems a better choice for soloing, AND, no one has proved mercy stroke has higher dmg or close dmg to dancing edge.. if they want something like that, they still have eviseration.
