Omgzormg Lets Discuss New Job Possibilities Because Its Only Six Motnths Till Wotg!!1

If somehow there was no sin up to this day, then according to the bible there would be no problems whatsoever. Which to some people may make the world insignificant I suppose. But still, Id rather be able to grow an apple tree if I wanted to without worrying about birds, bugs, weeds and shit taking it from me! Those are MY DAMN APPLES.

Are you saying that "birds, bugs, weeds, and shit" using the apple tree to continue their survival is a sin? Doesn't that indicate that God only cares about humans, or some such nonsense? Honestly now, think about what you say before you say it.

I'm so confused my brain is literally melting out of my ears and onto my keyboard.

An example of what would be 'the perfect world' that was meant to be, but didnt happen... Because of the whole fruit thing.

Already used the no pain example.

No, but in a perfect world, that wouldnt happen. Either you wouldnt be annoyed by things like that, or the birds, bugs and shit would have their own private apple trees.

It wasnt that hard to understand, geeze...

But if God is omnipotent.. he can do anything?

You cant make an already established thing into a completely opposite thing unless one doesnt exist. Maybe then you could call a circle a square, and vice versa.

You don't seem to be following. Alas, I don't really feel like explaining this, because once I do, I'm going to launch into essay mode, and I'm just too tired for that.

Have fun, kids.

Alright, with reckless abandon (not caring that my boss is sitting here next to me) I am responding to this.

'God' installed within us, the sense of curiosity. If not, why would man have been so curious (Adam) to investigate the lower regions of Eve? Was he told? By what... oh.. God? And if 'God' knew what all was going on in the Garden of Eden, why would he allow within a creature of 'evil'? No less, in the image of something he once created? The Snake. The Garden of Eden was guarded by none other than the Archangel Michael. You would assume he would simply look at the snake and say 'Sorry, you're not on the guest list, fuck off'. No?

So, with that being said, one could assume.. that... well... God let us choose (why he loves us most and made us his favorites above all creation).

Your 'perfect world' that consists of no bugs, birds, etc. to feed off of your apples.. would not happen. Not unless, you were willing to pollinate every bud on that apple tree branch like the bees do. To eat and defecate the fermented seeds of the apple (which contain cyanide and is harmful to humans) in different places to further the spread of your crop. Willing to kill any other bugs that seek to harm and eat your crop (ie. Aphids, eaten by Ladybugs, Cycada, eaten by birds). And yet, killing would be what... against your 'Perfect World' standards.

Again.. thinking out of the box... If you wish to follow blindly, I have more than enough room on the harnesses for yet another pack animal. ^_~

Well, I dunno about you... But If I knew I was created by someone, and my creator said to not do something, Id not do it.

I'd have to side with Douglas Adams on this one:

Douglas Adams said:
God puts an apple tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden and says, do what you like guys, oh, but don't eat the apple. Surprise surprise, they eat it and he leaps out from behind a bush shouting "Gotcha." It wouldn't have made any difference if they hadn't eaten it...Because if you're dealing with somebody who has the sort of mentality which likes leaving hats on the pavement with bricks under them you know perfectly well they won't give up. They'll get you in the end.

The snake in the tree, though, was satan.. You get get completely technical and say that satan was the first sinner, instead of Eve, so it wasnt really curiosity that killed the cat, but instead coaxing.

Adam and Eve were curious about the fruit (never was mentioned to be an apple. Just a fruit.) But they never went near it, until satan popped up and started saying "hey, come over here! You dont need to listen to that big oaf, come eat this! I live in this tree, so I know!"

And they could have believed it like Halifirien quoted from Adams, because why would he create an animal that would speak against him?? But satan was a sneaky sneaky, and convinced them that Gods warning about the fruit was just hot air.

Even God says in the Bible, no world short of heaven can be without sin (the tree and satan inside it) but its up to the people in that world to determine whether or not it spreads.

Just look at Hali's quote.. Honestly.

Surely this Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnibenevolent God (O3 for short), wouldn't let his favorite creations be coaxed into doing something that was against his word, would he? So why didn't he banish Satan from the Garden of Eden, surely he had to know Satan was there, as it's common belief that God is omniscient.

The Tree of Knowledge was created by God. To behonest with you, if you study the mythology of the angels; 'Satan' was not the first sinner, he was the first broken heart (one of the main reasons that Eve was labeled the Original Sinner). Lucifer, The Shining One, loved God so much, that he became jealous (more evidence of these emotions like curiostiy even before your apple-eating). The Tree of Knowledge, was put there by God, still tempting his own creations. Tempting them with the ONE thing that Lucifer was jealous of. Freedom of Choice. Something, that he tried even to counteract, without even removing it from our psyche. 'God' set us up, we are a social experiment.

What 'Satan/Lucifer' did was not coax, but only inform. The rest was us.

The main thing I'd take from the story of Adam and Eve is that you shouldn't take it literally. It's a handy piece of mythology for explaining why things are so messed up in the world (although I'm not keen on any story that reinforces the idea that "ignorance is bliss" and punishes someone for the pursuit of knowledge), but that's all it is... mythology.

But everyone knows everything written in the Bible is cold hard fact! Taking a moral from a story, just a moral, is totally the wrong way to interpret!

Ill be honest with you. If someone tells me not to do something with another thing that I know nothing about... Then Im gonna listen to them and thats that.

Kind of like the whole "dont push the red button" thing. Personally, I can just as easily forget about it after knowing Im not supposed to touch it.

Kind of happens anyway, when you do something you arent supposed to be doing.. Who pops up and says "I told you so!"
