And mostly for Dalecooper, because I refuse to jack Keit's Thread.

I'm not saying Nazism was a great movement. I'm saying you're being melodramatic and taking it way too seriously. The ironic part is that you feel that it is perfectly alright when the Jewish community pokes fun at it. It's been 60 years. Excepting the WWII vets and their immediate families, the contemporary Jews living in America did not experience the Holocaust firsthand. So what entitles them to comment about it snidely and not I? Blood? Heritage? Just because? It's like paying reparations for slavery, 150 years after the fact. I'm not saying that was right either -- but paying reparations definitely isn't the right way to fix it. And you're just as overboard.
(You think I didn't catch my own Soup Nazi reference? Yes, I know they were Jewish.)
I also know that you know I'm speaking facetiously. But all the same -- that's exactly what you're disapproving of. Does that mean we can't make fun of FDR's legs? Is it Too Soon? (Cue Family Guy reference.) Or is it that those who were never born (or may never become) Jewish cannot speak about Nazi Germany lightly without slighting the whole tragedy?
No, I'll admit that I'm not Jewish either. But I don't believe that off-hand remarks about Nazis offends many people (even Jews! as if they were that different, or fragile). It's only when it pokes directly at the human suffering itself that it might be inappropriate, and even then, I might accept it anyway. But just calling someone a Nazi does not strip the significance of 6 million lives. You're just a self-hating Nazi. (Cue Family Guy reference #2.)
Here's to convoluted language and sophomoric eloquence.
And to you too, Dale.
(...did you get it? You're a Nazi because you're a Nazi about Nazism.)
Oh. And if you even begin to lecture me on History, I will pwn you. I don't think you'll teach me anything new.
To start, allow me to recap;
Dalecooper said:However, don't ever call someone a Nazi unless the shoe really fits. The Nazi party attempted to extinguish an entire FUCKING race. Ever know anyone Jewish? You wouldn't if Hitler had his way. The Nazis were against the freedom allowed us to create a board where you can bitch and in your crude ignorance call someone a Nazi. All Sculli did was stop a couple of threads. Call him a Nazi, and you make light of the millions of people killed in World War II and the people who died, no matter WHAT COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN, to make sure that you wouldn't live under the facist rule of the Nazi Party. It is your right to call Sculli a Nazi, but think before you do, just think for a second. It isn't funny. It isn't cute. By doing it you are inappropriately comparing someone to the closest thing to evil this world has ever really seen.
Maybe that seems a bit harsh. I used to call people Nazi myself, and someone pointed these facts out to me, and I felt really bad about it. I try to tell people this when I hear it. I was crude and ignorant to, and I wish that I could take all those things back I said. I never should have called some people nazis, and neither should anyone here.

Kiets, no flames to you pal but, get a life, and don't post flames to the one person who LET YOU POST FLAMES! Thats like saying, "Damn you boss, you hired me, damn you, damn you". If you would think for a second, if Sculli was not here, we wouldnt even be doing this. There is my 2 cents. I'm done. :?

Dalecooper said:There are ways to jest about WWII. Take the movie (and subsequent musical, which will subsequently be turned into a movie) The Producers. Towards the end, there is a huge number called "Springtime for Hitler"
Some of the lyrics go:
It's springtime for Hitler and Germany
Winter for Poland and France
We're marching to a faster pace
Look out, here comes the master race
It is very black comedy and was inteded to be. It was also written by a Jew, Mel Brooks. You mentioned the "Soup Nazi" episode. That was written in part by Larry David (a Jew) and performed in by Jerry Seinfeld (a Jew). These are legitimate because it is making light of a situatiuon, even a terrible one like the Holocaust. Its the theory: "if you aren't laughing, you're crying". Calling someone a nazi for doing something that you deem borderline facist is a terrible thing to do.
That, even in jest, is dispiciable. You should be ashamed. You should think more about what you sayLong Live The Third Reich.
