Calm down and stop inferring shit that isn't there. He's saying the comparison of time and money are a factor for people who are buying gil. If they can't make as much gil as you can as fast as you can, but they work a lot, then buying some gil with some of the money they earned is the best method to earn gil. At no point is he saying "go buy gil now" or anything else you're implying, he's just taking a look at why some people buy gil.

I farmed 2 knives with my friend in a 5 month period of time. Worth approx 150-200M.

During that time, I made approx $4,000CDN while he made over $6,000CDN. Are you saying, we should buy gil instead of farming for it? Because it is a waste of time? Because it is a waste of real life money that could have been made during that time?

Lets say you have been alotted 10 hours a day to spend between working or playing. If you play all 10 hours of the day and make on average 2 mil or less. If you were to work 5 hours of that day at 10$ an hour and play the other 5 hours doing something other than making money, at the end of the day you would still have more money. 50$=alot more than 2 mil at IGE... He in no way says what you did was wrong. Some people enjoy to camp/farm. But if you would rather spend your time playing the game instead of working for a SH for 2 strait weeks of your life on a videogame. then work 2 full days of those weeks to make enough Real Money to buy gil with and you can spend the other 12 days using your SH...

BTW you said you played a total of 1.5 months in the overall alotted time, to earn 150mil, which was then split 2 ways. so if you take 75/45 that gives you an average of 1.666666666666666666666666667 Million Gil per day.

He was not attacking the way you play just simply showing that mathematically you can make more money in real life and in the game by buying gil. because by purchasing gil you save time, which derives "Oportunity Cost." When you make more money and use less time you are greatly increasing your oportunity cost.

It's called being lucky.

In no means am I saying I can make "XXXXXXXXX$ gil" in 1 hour, compared to 10-15$CDN in 1 hour. That is comparing "random-luck" to a steady income.


In this case, my luck in FFXI - was better than my income.

That is what I've been trying to prove. Sorry for being an asshole to you Rones, but I couldn't help myself.

I post this thread just to show you guys whats is going on that website, and speak up your opinion why they have no gil left etc.

Don't need to be all piss about on how people make gil and why they buy them, lets not get offtopic and not turn into flameboard lol
 
Actually No unless you ahve an insanely good craft you could never keep up with those rates farming/camping. If you make 10 dollars per hour and you work 10 hours a day thats 100 bucks which has to be at least 6-7 mil in gil right? Sozu pops 21-24 hour right? So you can make a steady 6-7 mil every day for 2 weeks and make up one thief knife. Whereas we know that youll sleep through at least 5-6 of the pop times for sozuu in two weeks, may miss a claim or two, but even with that aside lets say you get him 9 times in 2 weeks you will not get a drop in that time every two weeks. and you said you played 1.5 months to get 75 mil, and you called that lucky, work 40 hour weeks and make 400 a week. work 2.5 weeks and youll make 1 grand, Which if im not mistaken gets you 100Mil at IGE right now. Just checked. So you could have 200+Mil just to yourself right now if you spent those 1.5 strait months of time and devotted it to gil buying 0_0. they only way you could beat that is with a very nice craft like Goldsmithing to level 100. Then you can easily make 10 mil a day if all you do is craft. (Just a guess, not positive on that number, but 10 hours of crafting is alot)

With my friend Scwall, I'm 2/100+ on Sozu Rogberry.

With Dracodens help, I'm 3/3 on Argus.

I'm lucky. . . .Being lucky in this game doesn't need a lv100 crafter. I have made enough gil to account my time in this game.

Sorry I thought Sozuu was a 21-24, never camped him before dont know what hes like. It still doesnt matter though you could have had 200 mil if you would have worked instead, may have been less fun but still alot more money...

So I worked for nearly 3.5months, I spent 1.5 of those total 5 months having fun on FFXI.

I didn't mention killing King Behemoth for my first time, killing Fafnir for my first time, watching Nidhogg Spike Flail for my first time, or getting a Pixie Earring for my friend on his first KB.

That all happened during those 5 months too, I had a lot of fun.
 
Let say anything item that is around 100milish sucks on drops lol friend my mine campfor 1 1/2 Months 6 hours a day to get his Thf knife :P
