Once again IGE out of gil for Quetz

Yes, it affects other players, Rones. You overlook that while Sellers camp NMs as part of their work, if they did not exist, other players would have less competition. Not only that, the remaining competition isn't using shady methods like sellers. It's not just that they supply more, they also virtually control prices on some big items. If they weren't camping, there'd be less need for gil.

Thats how they make their business as well, they bottleneck who gets what.

However, this would be a different story if Square sold gil directly. They could just pull it out of no where. But unfortunantly, thats not the case here. You're buying from someone who has more than likely done some things underhanded to get an item from players camping, thus, affecting them.

Competition is part of the game. By that same argument, smaller servers are better because there are less players to compete against. While I disagree with gilsellers using hacks for nm camping, the nm camping in itself isn't wrong really.

What is your reasoning for that? There would be less items produced from nms because gilsellers ensure 100% production. Less items would cause price to go up. Gilsellers aren't usually the ones to raise prices. They probably could, but I suspect they are more interseted in moving the goods quickly and cheaply, much like the Chinese economy.

Don't you mean fortunantly? If SE were to just print gil at will, we would have a real inflation problem on a scale we have never seen. From my understanding EQ2 doesn't even print money with its RMT market.

Most people camp, get their item, and never come back, or become less interested in camping the NM. Competition would decrease over time if people were to get their item. Granted, you'd still have people showing up who camp the item for money, but the turnover rate on those is pretty small.

My reasoning? Simple. People won't become frustrated that they cannot get the item they want to camp, and in turn end up buying it. People could camp, get their item, and never spent a single gil in the process. I'm suprised you didn't think that one through, Rones.

Gil doesn't hold much weight in a RMT-less situation in the first place. So while more would be in the market, that doesn't necessarily mean a rise in prices at an alarming level. This isn't a real economic structure. It doesn't necessarily follow the same rules.

Currently, FFXI's economy couldn't handle that. However, If SE were the only ones selling, they could man handle the economy in such a way, that far more got drained via NPCs. Good example... 8 million to desynth a subligar... 1 million gil for a timeless hourglass. Countless other things could follow the same example. Not that they care or anything.

Skaw, meet Vang. Vang, meet Skaw. :emote_grouphug:

Except that has never worked, even pre gilsellers (there was a time when they were tiny-non existent). Even then people would spend gil rather than camp the item. Look at peacock charm, rare/ex only drop yet people still buy it. Why? Because camping for hours isn't the most fun activity. It didn't work on Lizzy or VE pre rare/ex patch. Why would it work now?

You do understand the #1 source of inflation right? :shok: Imagine there is 10 billion gil circulating in the economy. SE gets in some gil order and prints 5 billion gil for various order in a weeks time. Do you think that would actually have no effect?

Check out the German economy leading up to the WW. Government printing too much money crashed the economy. Money was more valuable as a fuel source to burn in stoves than for trading. I suppose that would be a step towards a money free community depedent on the barter system...which would be quite an annoyance. Maybe if SE increased nm spawn times to something reasonable like 10-30 mins with a realistic drop rate, that could work.

Camping for "Hours" is for those that don't know how to do it right, and notice, I said "Most" people.

out of gils >.> my frind just bought like 30 mil gils from IGE >.>
