This thread is for any thoeries on PW and the attempts this server does against him. I wish I could've been there for PW but I had my own obligations within the game.

Firstly: Keep Absolute Virtue out of this thread, theres already a thread dedicated to thoeries on that NM.

Secondly: Until I am satisfied with my own thoeries on AV, I will not go head 1st into another "Unbeatable" NM

Thirdly: Keep the "beating a dead horse" and sarcastic remarks out of this thread.

With that said, all I will say now is I am surprised at the effort put forth as not only one community ... but two communities gave it their all to put down the mighty PW. I wish you guys the best of luck!

Currently unbeatable in under 24 hours. Needs fixing.

Doesn't really matter considering he has a time limit before depopping now.
Eh? Didn't he just depop after being left unclaimed?

Adjustments have been made to Jailer of Love, Absolute Virtue (and pets), and Pandemonium Warden (and pets) in areas such as HP value and behavior. Absolute Virtue and Pandemonium Warden will now vanish two hours after their appearance, automatically ending the battle. In addition, the spawn rate for Absolute Virtue has been increased to 100%.

Bolded was reworded in a later announcement (will depop after 2 hours JoL has popped)

was changed past update.

Well there wasn't much dynamic movement to the point of being able to fully analyze what it could do potentially an idea I came up with(feel free to pick apart).

Spoiler:
if it's any consort a possible idea/suggestion I came up with from a comment after the depop

someone suggested that using a level 5 mule + hymus bard for saccing(Read: keeping PW in the area) could make that mule a dia mule ie rdm or whm since with deaths it would lose voke.

That level 5 mule could be given the pw pop(yes I know it would have to go to all the other events for seals) with hymus and pop then have the bard dot PW and have blms all focus on one target and dd alliance on another.

I'm not sure how good the above idea is since it could easily time out, but it's been noted that PW is fairly suceptible to melee damage and this would work on all but final form.

It would not be out of the question as well to have our smns take one lamp at the start of the pop and solo them as long as they're out of range it should be fine but assuming that the lamps don't aoe too much and wipe the pets before being sent or the pet dies before smn gets distance.

The above assuming that PW doesn't share hate with it's lamps(which is normal for most bosses that summon it's minions).

Another negative factor is how many lamps there are but Tier IV nukes/ AM only take seconds to cast

Also Dot on PW since I'm sure that if it doesn't link with it's lamps then it would depop in a non hate situation.

After our first wipe I noticed lamps spreading somewhat but this could have been due to mob path traveling but if it wasn't that means lamps can be fought separately

edit: some pics for you guys looked at them closely i'm not really able to make heads or tails if lamps do share hate with each other or PW shares hate with them

I'd ask zalt though since he did attempt to take out a lamp at 1% solo

About 53 people

7blms

3? tanks

5-7 smn

at least 2 bsts taking care of the slime and elemental pops which helped immensely we had our alliance in the far southeast of the room. Sac pullers were to the far northwest

It was up for a little more than an hour, we only got to the second version

1. Chariot(Long Arm chariot)

2. Chariot (Long Arm chariot, could have used Homing missile but not sure)

Blms(7) timed aga nukes to clear all lamps at once but knocked it down to 54% then 8% consecutively. After our consecutive nukes we started to wipe again and we started cfhing the lamps(to allow more targets to be locked under blm -aga and melee alliance).

We needed more blms if we wanted to try and clear lamps, the lamps for the Chariot form had around only 10k hp. PW itself didn't seem resistant to any form of damage and went down quickly in hp with the agas. This is slightly skewed on our blms first -aga only one went off not sure if the others were stun or off key but some hp was taken off there and we wiped almost immediately.

Some people volunteered to keep dots on the mob which helped unweaken and keep the nm intact. Lamps have high regain since they used a tp move on reaggroing PW(possibly just procs on first aggroing PW though)

Bio II and Foe Reqiuem were used to keep PW in place, it took possibly two full Bio II to take the PW's hp down by 1% although I cannot say for sure if that was with Reqiuem or without.

Also for each form including first PW appears as Dvergr for a moment then goes into his decided form this happens again everytime he "dies" in consecutive forms as well.

Would have lasted longer but there were some complications, trying to put the above in the most objective voice possible and not putting any sort of guilt on anyone. Have to learn how to crawl before you walk. Added some trivial stuff but it could help in factoring in what to do.

I'm sure I forgot some details I'll add as they come back to me

edited and moved...think there's a problem with edit and double post or my browser is just that slow and retarded at work

What if the objective to beating PW is to damage the Dvergr form as much as possible while it's up? Like have certain people ready to damage it when it's going to morph back into Dvergr form again. And try to do as much damage as possible before it turns into another form. Wash/rinse/repeat through form changes.
That little thing about the Dvergr form popping briefly after every form made me actually think of that imp in the "Scouting the Ashu Talif" BC. Swiftwinged Gekko.

The moment the Dvergr form pops it does a massive AoE stun and while everyone is stunned, it changes forms. I don't think it's possible to act before it does it.

EDIT: And it does it per form swap.

i doubt it, since the dvergr appeared for literally one second then depopped and reappeared as it's next form.

you would need a fast stunner if that would work

unfortunately I didn't get to test it's elemental affinities either or how much it resists what >,>

zombie tactics aren't out of the question though but can be risky in time spent recovering ie rr > tp > ws > die lather rinse and repeat

don't think I added that without DoT it depops in under a minute since it doesn't regen hp, maybe slightly more

Wak when you damage the dverger form it just changes and repops back at 100% no matter what and that was tested on the old PW.

A new strategy though from Alobont is that if you can kill a lamp when PW is in Dverger form that one less lamp will spawn.

The biggest problem with the PW fight is the linked hate between the lamps and PW itself. PW was very weak and was going down fast but our tanks got destroyed when many lamps decided to come wandering back and start beating on them. We either need to finish the lamps off very fast(many many blm aga's) or we need to have atleast 8 paladins in the add alliance to keep the lamps away from the main alliance.

Wasn't thought by apathy was thought by alobont lol. Also, from what I noticed he doesn't always AoE stun apparently since when he popped he did Cackle instead of Hellsnap. Waiting to see the uploaded video to recheck some stuff myself

2. Chariot (Long Arm chariot, could have used Homing missile but not sure)

Also was definitely a new chariot not the 1st one again. I'm not sure which exactly not totally familiar with the models but there was major difference.

Guess I should mention we got some glitched out lamps after a while or something that started patrolling a certain route, then they would do a few random attacks and start patrolling again >.>

You said Apathy! Or atleast that's what I thought.

Nah haven't talked to them post fight get a friggon vent and you can hear our theories lol

hmm yeah I was highly sure that it was different the gears for Long Arm Chariot (1st form) was using antigravity for the next form they were using their lazers(dont remember name)

unfortunately I didn't take many sses of damage or anything

Nope, he was up for at least 10-20 seconds before form change.

I don't think the range is that big, maybe 10-15. It's far enough away to zerg something down after the pop.

For strategy purposes we are definitely leaning towards multiple holding parties (8x2 members) for what we currently know about the lamps, along with a main alliance who will be tanking PW and dealing damage.

Current theories we need to test out:
1. Killing lamps between forms in order to affect # of lamps popped.
2. Holding lamps and killing PW to determine if lamps all need to be killed to progress to the next form.

original pop or after he died in his first form?

when he died near the SE alliance he depopped, then showed up as dvergr immediately and summoned lamps then went into his next chariot form.

I'm not sure if he used hellsnap again, I wasn't stunned on the initial popping of PW either

Between Form #1 and #2 he was up for a short period of time floating around. He then used a summoning type animation and then changed into the 2nd chariot.

The biggest problem with the PW fight is the linked hate between the lamps and PW itself. PW was very weak and was going down fast but our tanks got destroyed when many lamps decided to come wandering back and start beating on them.

About 90% certain that the reason they kept coming back is that they weren't far enough away from the tanks so that when the tanks were building hate (Cure IV on themselves, etc), it was getting hate on the lamps again as well. It also took way too long for anyone to even try to move them so by the time the lamps were finally being dragged away the tanks had a boatload of enmity on all the lamps.
