Emok Enjoy your life. Those fuckin A and B don't matter once u die unexpectedly. Its the good times you have that matter not the grades =) but well u shouldn't fail every class either cuz that makes u look like a fuckin idiot

Damn, you guys all have it so easy! I'm 21 and have been living with my fiance for almost 3 years. We both work full-time, pay bills, take care of our pets, visit family & friends, and STILL have time to play ffxi at least 3 days a week.

When I did live at home (with my dad and stepmom before their divorce) I had to cook, clean, take care of my brother and sister, babysit the neighbor kid, work part-time, go to school, play softball! I had a ton of stuff to do and I was bitching and moaning...but now I would do ANYTHING to be able to be a teenager again. When they did divorce, I was 17 and moved with my dad. He basically let me do what I wanted and come and go as I pleased as long as my grades stayed up, which they did. I graduated and had even more freedom while going to college and still under his roof. I didn't have to pay rent, but I did pay my car payment, car insurance, cell phone bill, etc. We had a great relationship then. A lot has changed since I dont live with him anymore. We are nowhere near as close as we once were and it saddens me.

So the point of my post is don't take your parents for granted and do respect them. They will in return respect and trust you, allowing you to have more freedom. Enuff said......

Get a prepaid one like I have. You have it for when you need it, and don't need to worry about paying for it when you don't need it.

Every one of you that bashes parents and shit, enjoy it while it lasts. When I was in high school, I fucking hated it so bad. Now I'd give almost anything to go back to those no stress, easy life style. I wish I knew what I had lost, and none of you will know until you either lose a parent, or move out on your own.

eh.. I kinda like College life.. freedom... and the workload isn't unbearable. And ya.. my mom's a biotch >.>

Yeah seriously. Sometimes parents are harsh, but it's better than nothing. My mother abandoned me when I was 13. She slept around on and divorced my father, but first she convinced him to consolidate everything on our house.

Which my father and I built over the course of 3 years. During this time he worked 3rd shift, he'd go in at 10 PM, get off at 8 am, work on the house till 3 pm, sleep till 9 pm. Repeat. And after a year of trying to get his sleep back to normal on first shift, she leaves him because he's not been there enough. He's only paid for anythings she's ever wanted.

So we ended up losing the house, and dad's financial situation = Fucked. Hardcore.

We move into some shitty lil broken down shack. No I don't mean a rough house, I mean a damn shack. As in one of the walls is old rough cut lumber put together, and another is ply-wood. I had to bath with rags, and we heated water on a coleman stove. I lived there a year.

That summer after school I left my father,at the age of 16, and was homeless. I had a friend let me work at his computer shop. and in payment he let me sleep on his couch at night in the shop. I got to eat once every few days when someone had leftovers they had brought there. It was also the hangout place of my friends. I did that for 3 months, until fall hit. Then my father informed me he'd found a small house which was nice enough for us to move into. SO we moved into this rundown lil house.

I think Meth was cooked there once, because it always smelt funny and I itched alot. It sucked horribly. Well I went through living there for 6 months, then stayed with a good friends grandparents till the end of my Senior year. I worked when I could and barely got by. At the end of this summer, I moved down here to where I lived now.

I asked my mother to let me live with her while I took a year off school. I pay 200 dollars a month rent, the 2 bedroom apartment is 575 a month. She has a live in boyfriend who pays rent as well. I am working a 30 hour a week job, because thats all I can find. I'm trying my hardest so save money, and still get to eat. I got one pair of nice pants, and one pair of nice shorts. The rest are un wearable in public. My friends consist of people over the internet, all of which mean more to me than they realize. I do pay a cheap cell phone bill and internet. It's struggling pretty bad. I'm living off Ramen.

Where is my father during all this? Doing pretty shitty. Because he's tryin to recover financially from a 80k housepayment he couldn't make. Why didn't he sell the house you wonder...?

Read what it took for him to build it. It'd be hard for me too.

The moral of my long ass post:

Appreciate your parents and love them, because there are tons of people out there who wish they were you. Oh what I would give to have a mother who cared more about me than her rent money....

I'll be lucky to make it into college. /sigh

Damn Druw, it saddened me to read that. Hopefully some of these teenagers will read it and start to appreciate what they have.
On another note, I hope your situation starts looking up. You seem like you deserve it! :?

edit: spelling...ugh
