I tried parsing a merit session last night, and Parser was being very f_cked.

Of the 3 melee's reported, it stated that one was doing 49%, another 36%, and another 33%. So in total we were doing 118%. Also it was not registering the blm's dmg at all, he wasnt even in the list. On top of that, there were multiple entries for each melee. Example:

Code:
ƒƒCmdrfly [it actually has weird characters like that before melee names]
Fights: 50
Average damage: [legitimate number here]
Average percentage: [legitimate number but inaccurate count; see above]
Average accuracy: [legitimate accuracy]

××Cmdrfly
Fights: 0
Average damage: 0
Average percentage: 0
Average accuracy: 0

Anyone parsed since the patch? Notice anything weird? I haven't changed any of my settings in the past couple of months.

Yes. SE changed the way the logs are stored.

I mainly use parser to keep a log of drops in Dynamis since I don't play a melee job atm, but yeah. I noticed it adds weird things to it. As for items, it adds a [] before every item :p

What I hate the most is that they broke SeaMon a few patches ago >.< was so easy to keep track of attendance with it ; ; Just had to do a /sea all linkshell, start SeaMon and it'd log the results <.<;

well this is definetly gonna slow down my plans to experiment with new gearswaps and meat foods.
I guess ill need to buy a notepad and pencil and start writing down stuff after each party is over to log final results ect.
If a fix for this comes out be sure to post it.

Good to see it wasn't just me. I thought one of my settings got messed up somehow.

Mine isn't logging WS damage at all since the update, but everything else is working normal. I hope people are still developing this.

Nyaha... that makes sense. I thought our numbers were low; I was parsing against the demigod of war's, Mattimer, and his average was <900 per fight. I thought the mobs just had really low HP pools... but lack of WS's would explain it.

I was told the parser still works for measuring melee damage/accuracy, but spells, abilities and weapon skills are no longer included. Since the guy who made the parser hasn't updated it in around a year due to him quitting FFXI, it might never get fixed. I guess this will stop all that "parser is cheating" nonsense, though.

I thought there was an update in May or something? Since he's now getting funded by IGE, there must be some push for him to fix this. I hope.

The last entry on his webpage is:

So yeah, it's dead unless someone wants to open up the code and fix it.

fine, I'll do it ~.~

edit: wtf, he made it in Visual Basic? No wonder its so slow <.<;

Mines kinda messed up but it still works decently.
Other than being completely useless to compare gear for weaponskills, spells and abilities. If all you care about is your melee damage or accuracy then yeah, it's fine.

Oh snap, just noticed that WS's arn't showing up.... yea that does pretty much make it useless.

Someone was doing something previously with the source code, I'll see if I can find his site... I have his most recent version as far as I know, but it is suffering the same symptons as the original FFXIP, unfortunately.

Edit: Found it, and apparently he's fixed the problems the update caused. Check it out at your own risk: http://members.cox.net/tazzy_parser/
