I've had a shitload of bad parties lately. Anywhere from how they invite to their performance.

I start seeking on my 68 WHM. First party I get is with Marohaung. He actually waits until I say "yes, please" before he invites me. We end up with Maro (NIN), me (WHM), Sassy (BLM), Lizard (DRG), Kizaryo (WAR), and Kote (DRG).

We go down to Den of Rancor for Tormentors. It takes Maro 15 minutes to pull the first one. Then, he can't keep hate for anything the rest of the party. Sassy only casted regen on people (including people I've already regen III'd) and drain when he got hit then rested for the rest of the battles. Lizard was fine except she NEVER Spirit linked causing her Wyvern to die pretty quickly. Kizaryo was trying to keep hate off of me the best he could. Kiz was the only person in the party I have no complaints about. He's on my friends list now, too. Kote would only fight once every 3-4 battles. After 2 hours of exping and gaining a whole 3k exp, we left.

I seek later and get an invite from Elveengirl that went like this :
Elveengirl>> pt?
Elveengirl invites you to her party.

I accept anyway. Soon she invites Lawrnz (a good friend of mine) then after 20 minutes of waiting around, she finally invites Marohaung and Asurathief. Then she invites Sassy but he left soon after being invited. Then she invited a MNK. We get everyone together and head out. We tele-altep, me, the MNK, and Lawrnz all start running to Rabao. Soon Asura, Elveen, and Maro disappear. All 3 of them offline. We wait 10 minutes then decide to warp.

I sit in my MH for 10 minutes and see "Elveengirl invites you to her party". I had a doctors appointment in an hour and a half and decided not to join so they don't have to find another whm so soon so I tell her no thanks, /decline and she invites again within 5 seconds of me declining. For the next 30 minutes, me and her go back and forth with the invites and /decline and she finally gives up.

I go to the doctors, sleep a while, get up, and start seeking on my 53 BLM. I get a blind invite. They expected me to main heal. Needless to say, we disband before the party left Jeuno.

I seek again, get an invite, and joined. We go out to Boyahda Tree to kill spiders. Double Freeze at end, me and the other BLM doing 90% of the damage, everything was going good. Soon our puller decides she's going to kickbox her friend IRL while in the party so we end up waiting 10 minutes between pulls. Then our DRK falls asleep and his brother comes and plays his character with no knowledge of DRK. He kept voking. Finally after DRK left and we got tired of THF's absense all the time, we were done. I d2'd everyone but the THF at first because he kept DEMANDING a D2. I told him I'd D2 him as soon as he could ask nicely, and we ended up there for 20 minutes waiting for him to say please. Finally he did, I d2'd, d2'd Dowzer, warped myself and took a break.

I seek some more and get another "PtyLeader>> pty?" "PtyLeader invites you to his party". I join, they ask me TNL. What the hell? It was in my search comment and you had to /sea all Lv - Lv inv and click on my name to invite me which would of brought my TNL up. I told them, they kicked me.

Finally Kabrina invites me. /hurray. We do awesome. Had Double Freeze mb going, everything. Then our PLD asks our RDM "Black Mage Amateur?". Uhh... how are we amateurs? We are making sure all the debuffs stay on and do more than our share of damage WITHOUT getting hate. He didn't know how to cover when one of our Freeze's went off and the other didn't have MP. I don't know how many times me and Kabby were below 50 HP due to him not using cover. He leaves, we bring in another PLD. He only stays for 30 minutes then says he has to go so we just disband.

I decide to try on my 37 BRD. I get an invite. All's well until I see that we have no WHM, RDM, BLM, or SMN with a PLD tank. I asked and they told me I should main heal. I disband. Sorry but a Lv. 37 BRD with MP food still doesn't have enough to main heal with.

So I hop on my 20 DRG, get an invite the second I hit seek party. That one was awesome. We were doing perfect. Bringing in loads of exp, barely any downtime, everything. The NIN leaves. They expect me to tank now. I figured just try it. I did good tanking for a while but died a few fights later. They blamed me for being a sucky tank and that I should quit DRG because I can't tank for shit. o.O;;

What is with the "pt?" "so and so invites you to their party" without waiting on a response now?

What's with the idiots in higher levels? I've seen more and more BLMs not do their job lately.

What's with everyone thinking everyone else sucks at their job?

What's with people thinking a BRD with 156 MP with MP+ food on can main heal?

Since when were DRG's tanks?

What has happened to everyone on Quetzy's IQ? It seems to have dropped to 5 for everyone. Is it the weather changing? People slacking because they have school off and don't have a care in the world?

Just annoys me how a while ago, I got invites like crazy on WHM and could get in to a decent party that all knew their job and tried their best at it but now I get in to a party and everyone seems to have forgotten how to play their jobs and how to ask someone nicely if they'd like to party. Is it just me running in to this? x.x;

Well.. part of the problem is accepting invites from gilsellers... It makes them all hopeful that you might do it again. ^^

lol Well that 2nd party was a gilseller party. The others ... um ... just bad lol

You can already imagine what I'm going to say your first party lacked. :P
Your second party had a drk and a thf in it. That makes God angry for some reason.
Your third party had two freezers. Ancient magic is generally considered noob tactics by a lot of people. I would have serious reservations about how good the xp flow was. That your second paladin didn't stay might indicate that big numbers=/=good party. That one blm was below 50 mp and the paladin couldn't cover you...is that supposed to be a joke or sarcasm? No offense, but I don't think the paladin is at fault there.
The bard party: that's just dumb. Lots of people don't know bards have 0 mp on their main job though.
The drg party: drg is the whipping boy of the server thanks to internet forums of lesser merit. That really sucks.

This is why I like to start most of my own parties....I don't have the patience to be invited, where we only gain 2k exp per hour...those are horrible :( Like you said, perhaps most of Quetzy's IQ has dropped. Probably right. I've decline many parties, simply because a lot of people don't understand which jobs work best with each other. PLD > RDM and NIN > BRD...I always try to match those up. Unless I get crafty, I'll keep the regular setup for a good skillchain with magic burst, healer, tank, and refresher.
I know how hard it can be to setup these kinds of parties...since they are very popular. However, I would rather take a few hours to setup a skilled party, rather than spend hours gaining very little exp and possibly a headache....
Besides, I've been by your side in some awesome parties that you've setup before. You know how rewarding it feels to set those up :) Give it a try again, you're one of the few who understands how good party's work :)

Funny thing was two refreshers were seeking and they invited a DRG.

Amen to that.

Ok. Two Freezers were excellent. If it werent for both of us Freezing, the WHM would be out of MP, the PLD low health, and everything. Because of the two freezes, we were raking in a pretty good amount of EXP because of constant pulls.

-.-

Let me clarify. Me and the other BLM went below 50 HP (not MP) more than once and when one of us were getting hit, the PLD would not cover. And I know the timer for Cover isn't 2 hours. He did it once in the party when he covered Kabby instead of me when it was after me.

This person was rank 8. How could he not know I didn't have enough MP to cure already? xD

Aye.

As for the gilsellers stuff - I didn't know Maro was a gilseller until later and I knew Elveen was a gilseller but I'd never had problems with her. As for the rest of them, I don't know who's gilseller and who's actual player anymore.

Your first party needed a thief :(

Or a Spinning Slash

The drg party sounds like you should have taken screenshots and posted them. That by far takes the cake.

Read Maro's Bazaar Message, that shit cracks me up everytime lol.

"I am chineese, not gil seller. I am friendly, I need friends ^^"

or read Bluelion's his takes the cake.

"I am very friendly boy! Lets go xping togethor, I am friendly!" or something to that effect. Just the "I am friendly boy!" comment scares me and makes me laugh at the same time lol.

Wait, how did you not recognize any of these people's names? Didn't Bol team up with them at Simmy one day?

2 DRG and a Gilseller party ... lol.

I do know that Maro isn't exactly the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree...

Invited him to party once, decided to go to Bibiki Bay and kill gobbies (no, this wasn't the party that gave me my current sig... that was a different one). We get to Bibiki Bay, start heading to a camp. AFTER we get there, Maro finds out he doesn't have CoP. Moron. Have to boot him and get a PLD.

Never knew he was a (suspected) gilseller, though, but I was kinda thinking it...

And Pere... I hope you're not saying that DRK and THF should never party. It's only after 66 and DRKs can SATA+Spinning Slash that they begin to overlap with THF and shouldn't party together (partly because they can't make a Light SC together until the low 70's, partly because SATA is difficult to set up with two people trying to do it). Before then, DRK and THF can make pretty mean Vorpal Scythe/Power Slash > Viper Bite/Dancing Edge = Distortion SCs.

And Vang, not everyone memorizes the name of every suspected gilseller on the server :P Frankly, I couldn't really care... as long as they play good (i.e. not Maro) and don't have a history of stealing/MPKing/etc, I'd party with them. Of course, I'm a DRK and don't get showered with daily party invites like you NINs are, so...

Oh I know, Bluelemon is a pretty skilled RMT to be honest. But I thought the thread author was in BOL and I could of swore i heard a rumor? That they teamed up with Gilsellers at Simmy, I could be mistaken though.

If not I would assume they all knew each other and were friendly with the gilsellers now.

Yeha People that aren't Black Mages. AM has it's place in this game weather anyone wants to admit it or not. No offense to you peregrin, but I just pisses me off to no end when I'm in a party and They want to start a Battle with a skillchain but they don't want me to AM Burst it b/c they think I'll die. If People would hear me out half the time, I'd only be casting 2 spells per fight. Here is what my AM macro looks like.

/ma Freeze
/p <Casting Spell> <Freeze> <Ready to start Skillchain> <Distortion>
/wait 5
/p GO NOW! <call>
/wait 18
/p <Cover> <me>

A Paladin who can't Cover a Blm is a sucky pld.
As a Matter of fact, after 60, a pld who loses hate to AM is a mediocre pld at best. My Enmity is -13, -16 with food. Pld AF gives a total of what +10? Making a 26 point Enmity spread? <Impossible to Gauge>

/sh <party> <Black Mage>x5 + <Bard> <Can I have it?>
problem solved.

Elveengirl, Rosehot, Maro-something something, and Asurathief... they always seem to be together, Lv.70+ Rank3... and i've gotten that numerous blind invites from both Elveengirl, Rosehot, AND Asurathief... BLEH.

and to Trippyhippy...

you're a noob.

What is with the "pt?" "so and so invites you to their party" without waiting on a response now?

It's a half-arsed attemped to get around people not liking blind invites. Seriously, almost all my party invites came like that

No, I'm not a BoL member.

My Freeze macro is :

/p [{Magic} <mpp> : {Freeze} : <t>]
/wait 5
/p Start {Skillchain} NOW! <call3>
/wait 1
/p {Paladin} get {Ready!} to {Cover} {Black Mage}!

Well, their half-assed attempts are driving me up a wall. What's so damn hard about asking someone if they would like to party and waiting for a response?
