Once you transfer over from the mahatma feet to the rostrum pumps, your -enmity starts to take a toll. So I decided instead to sub RDM, cast phalanx, stoneskin, blink and go all out with damage. Once you reach endgame BLM you'll find that 1) EXP battles are so quick that it's better to have good defensive and kill the monster before it breaks through your stoneskin. 2) Your damage is severaly crippled on gods, so yet again focus on damage.
The Elite Beret +1: Def: 29 Summoning Magic Skill: 5 Elemental Magic Skill: 5 Enfeebling Magic Skill: 5 Divine Magic Skill: 5 might be good for encourters like Kirin where the Magic Resistance is tremendous, but for An Elemental Magic junky there is of course the better head, af2: 23 MP: 23 Enmity: -2 Enfeebling Magic Skill: 5 Elemental Magic Skill: 10 , or more easily you can do things like swap in AF1 hands for their 15 elemental magic. Overall more bang for your buck so to speak in dmg vs resistance.

Empy this passions basterd can sit on it and rotate I have been on overr 100 Haku runs god knows how many hats came out of that. easily close to 800 hats.

My friends Nombly, Kamui, Sangroso, and Kalefury, just to name a couple off the top of my head, will need O-hats themselves soon, and if I'm told of their Hktk runs I will most likely end up joining theirs and helping them out. If anyone I know somewhat asks me to join a future run for people I don't know, I'll probably join if I'm not already planning something time-limited.

Oh, and I want to get it on my first run because I'm semi-elitist and mildly obsessive about having gear at the level I can use it (haven't failed to do it yet, other than Scorpion Harness which I seriously haven't needed for ACC yet).

Ask Grafh about today, too. I came and helped on his SMN AF2, then helped him get a Fei'Yin chest key for a Vahzl scroll quest, and gave him the first key to drop. He decided to stay another 40 mins for a 2nd key drop, and he didn't have to do that either.
I would've been a burden on all the healers the moment any AOE attacks hit me at 65 or lower in Den of Rancor, even on pops. My presence would've been pretty much pointless.

hmm this thread is almost dead, so i'll just wrap it up
Yoshindor mentioned that eva skill > eva bonus, and yes, i already know that.
However what he doesn't know is that rdm get a crappy evasion skill to begin with. I've already merited evasion skill, and i can still see a noticable difference in evasion when i use o-hat.
there's no way in hell i would have wanted to skill up (and cap) both sword and dagger without an o-hat. i don't like miss-fests. (and ps., i did use snipers to skillup too, except when tanking for shield and parrying skillups)
as for ranged acc+? i actually use that too. rdm have archery skill, and i've been working to cap that too.
o-hat is the single best thing i could use for things like that. Sure, there might be better things for some things (regarding melee, not party, that's a whole different ballgame), but given the choice, i'd rather one fairly decent item that takes up one spot than to be "elite" and have 5-6 different items which are only marginally better (and no space because of it).
There's also reasons such as what Isac pointed out.
