Okay, I'm up and running with my new parts. I just have one tiny problem. For some reason, if I connect both my CD-RW and DVD-RW, only the CD-RW is recognized by my bios. The DVD-RW works fine alone.

Also, my old storage drive when connect is the only thing my bios recognizes. It ignores my SATA drive. I have all my mp3s, videos, and pictures on this drive, and intended to copy them over to my new SATA drive.

Anyone have any info that could help?

Also to note, only one IDE connection on this motherboard.

I assume you already double checked Master/Slave settings.

Tried both on CS?

If that doesn't help, sorry all I can think of atm.

Your sata problem... sometimes a bios will detect a ide device and completely ignore the sata controller. Could that be happening?

Well, the SATA drive, which has Windows on it, works fine when used with one of my optical drives. Even when both are connected, despite the issue with that.

I'm pretty sure every things on cable select. Maybe setting the hard drive to slave will help?

I'd set whatever you can to master/slave and leave cable select the hell alone.
When my old computer killed itself recently and I was going through a similar thing, it only worked when I set the jumpers correctly. Cable select did nothing for me. Which I found weird.

if you set the hard drive to slave you're going to have bsod's occasionally, I find that to be not even remotely worth the additional drive

this is actually something that happened to me for some time with another pc trying to run 1 sata HD, 1 IDE HD and an IDE cd drive. I just gave up honestly

Having a hard drive slaved isn't going to cause BSOD's unless there's some defective hardware or it isn't setup correctly. I've been using slaved drives for years... though now I'm currently all sata, including dvd burner.
