Because you weren't asking me. It felt like you were saying "Do all the work, catch me at the right time and if I'm available I might listen and occasionally comment." It felt like you want me to do all the work for you, and in that case I'd very much like to feel that said work will be rewarded, or at the very least appreciated.
I see what you are saying. Part of the problem is that written communication just can't really relay what one's intentions are, lots of room for miscommunication. Part of the problem is that I tend to not praise those who help this site enough in public, that' something I have been working on somewhat, but clearly not enough.

Let me try this again, anyone's suggestions, including your's, will be taken seriously, and considered as soon as they come up, not just with a glance, but with discussion following up on whether something is feasible to implement and if so how that implementation should go forward. I am here on a daily basis unless some work related travel comes up which will be just a few days here and there. I will do whatever I possibly can to make things work and give those who are serious about making QCDN a better place all the support they need. I am here to share the workload.

My writing "PM me, or post it publically, or lead the roundtable" was meant as a "yes, I would love to hear what you have to say, you have my undivided attention", the roundtable part was meant to say that I trust you to be able to lead such a thing, and do it objectivly even if your personal views differ from those brought forward. People get easily offended when others take their ideas and run with them, I tried to avoid that. I didn't mean to imply that you ought to do all the work and call me when you are done.

Cubswoo said:
1) Enforce the rules strictly or don't enforce them at all
I agree and I will do that as soon as I figure out how to deal with the mass amounts of email complaints I will be getting from people who will come up with all kinds of explanations as to why they did what they did. Of course I can point them to the rules, but some sort of notice that the rules will indeed be enforced will likely be helpful. I will install the mass PM mod later on tonight and send out a PM to every user that things are about to change.

Cubswoo said:
2) Make available an area where people can see why so-and-so was punished
Yup, that's something that came out of the "what's wrong with the standards" thread too. Since then I have been posting to the particular threads in which the issue occured as to what was wrong and what happened. Will create a forum for that, no problem.

Cubswoo said:
3) Give mods limited power to probate for short periods of time to ease burden
I did look into that, but didn't come up with a workable way to limit the time period. The default vBulletin has the option to allow mods to ban (yes / no), and of couse bans can be temporary, but there is no default way to restrict mods from banning people indefinitely. I think for this to work a system would need to be worked out that governs under which circumstances mods can temporarily ban someone, and for how long, and what sort of record-keeping needs to be done to make it all "legit".

Cubswoo said:
4) Be transparent when it comes to rules and rule modifications and allow flexibility for the unknown
Rules are a major issue, and one that I have no good way to address. There are those who complain that the current rules are too vague. They are vague to allow for corrective action in case someone does something that is not specifically in the rules. There is no way to foresee every possible scenario, and people who are problem users tend to take the stance that "it wasn't in the rules that I couldn't do that, so it's ok for me to do it".

The rules are linked from the front page, I am not sure how much more obvious I can make them. I am sure there will be frequent modifications in the near future. I can imagine to send out a mass PM when the rules change, but I definitely do not want to send out an email to every user.

I can make a new post to the rules thread, that way it will be highlighted as "not read", rather than me just editing the original rules posts, which doesn't result in a highlight.

Cubswoo said:
Debate forum. Place for all of that stuff to go with fairly heavy moderation on the stuff you don't like while still allowing people to be passionate without being insulting.
The debate forum was in the original plan after the old FB got removed and was axed because the notion was that debates should go into the forums they belong to, meaning synthing +1 at 98+6 vs 100+6 or whatever should go into the crafting forum. However, I am not opposed to a debate forum, neither I am opposed to passionate posts in the existing forums.

Cubswoo said:
Forgot to mention this - the fact that no punishment was meted out to anyone as of yet was shocking and yet not shocking at the same time.
As explained above, I do want to notify people of the fact that they will actually get in trouble. I know I shouldn't have to, but still. There needs to be a point in time at which this actual enforcment starts, otherwise, how far back should I go, and who's to say that looking at this thread is alright, while looking at the very same stuff that was posted elsewere on QCDN yesterday is not.

_Neosquall_ said:
Was it really necessary for you to delete all the posts that we wrote in the past 15minutes?
Yup, it was. There was nothing but on user telling those who are not happy to go away, and a bunch of other users calling the one who did the telling out. It went on for three pages. You didn't miss a thing as it was all self contained pertaining to the "go away" part. PM me if you want a copy of it, but keep it out of this thread.

Sneakypants said:
As you said, Sculli, you greatly changed. YOU changed.
This is something so transparent that you didn't actually need to admit it.
I don't think I tried to hide that fact, I am proud of it.

Sneakypants said:
Will people be receptive to your methods in the future? No.
Speak for yourself, and perhaps for those who hang with you, but don't automatically include everyone just because there are a number of users who are not happy with the way things are.

The change here at QCDN was sudden and drastic, no doubt about that. It could have been handled better, but it is done, and dwelling on how it happened will not accomplish anything. While it is nice to state the obvious over and over, it does tend to sound like a broken record after a while.

If you have any interest in improving QCDN, then you are welcome to share your thoughts on how things should be done (excluding bringing the old FB back), and just as I told CubsWoo, I will put as much effort into making it happen as I possibly can if those suggestions are reasonable and workable.

Nazi references are completely unacceptable. Nothing, absolutely nothing done on these forums comes even close to the grief the Nazi regime caused for millions of people. If you, or anyone else, are unable to accept that and respect those who suffered under Hitler, rather than cheapen them by comparing forum policy to Nazi policy, then you will be shown out. I realize that some find it acceptable since the Soup Nazi in the Seinfeld episode and whatever, but you are asked to choose a different form of expression that while still showing your disapproval for forum policy or leadership, doesn't trivialize the grief millions of people had to go through. See the updated QCDN Community Standards which put this common sense issue in writing.

why put words in my mouth? i never mentioned nazi. good job stereotyping tho. i said "hitler" not nazi. however, i could see how you could easily put the two together. but i referred to hitler because it was either his way or no way. and that, is how you do things. your worried more about yourself than what others want/think. its been seen in many threads that you have made. by this, i mean that you post your opinion and are so stuck to your opinion that you dont even listen to other peoples' opinions before saying "nuhuh, your wrong". go read over that evolution thread or whatever the hell it was that you made a couple months ago. but, im sure people will already know whats going to happen. ill get banned for referring to a figure in history because it offends YOU. why it offends you, i dont know. you act as if you can whipe hitler off the face of the history books. but if you wish, ill say you are the hussein of the boards.

here is the original message that i sent you a while back about a thread that you decided to make for me.

why not just delete the posts? without all info, ive been now set at the stake to fry because it looks like i started the thread. people will typically look at the first page and reply from there without seeing everything else. therefore, the reply i put saying i didnt start the thread, will get buried upon page after page and people will not see the whole reason behind the thread
but you didnt want to delete it for whatever reason.

I'm tired of lurking on this issue.

The simple truth is, the details of this particular conflict ... Shaidalyn's quote, Eulore's sig, all of that nonsense ... means nothing. It's a veil for either side, a beard, an EXCUSE, to engage each other again over something else. No, the true source of this enmity flows from the raging conflict that never ended, weeks and weeks ago, the one that initially cleaved the deep rift in QCDN. This is merely another face of that raging fight over the truly massive administrative shift, punctuated mainly by the removal of the Flameboard, that we all suffered a couple of months ago.

There were those who scoffed at so-called "Doomsday" predictions that this conflict would never end ... it was portrayed by many as a "the sky is falling" mentality to even suggest that the bad feelings over a change so large, unexpected, and arguably unnecessary, would poison the community for the rest of its existence.

Here we are. It's still here. The fight burns not a single degree cooler.

Solitia had one of the best posts in this thread, and I'm surprised it was ignored by most. She hit the core of the matter in a nutshell:

Solitia said:
I'll bold it so that people can see. There was nothing wrong with the QCDN of a few months ago. NOTHING.
This is the simple truth. Some people may have wanted it to be DIFFERENT, but there was nothing WRONG with it. Above all, one can certainly say that QCDN was stable. It was in balance. It knew what it was, and for the most part, everyone was happy with it. I don't even think that those who supported the removal of the Flameboard genuinely felt unhappy with QCDN as it was. It ... was ... functional. It ... was ... FINE. It was certainly in a lot better shape, in terms of community and cohesion, than it is now. This isn't even up for argument. Sculli replies:

Sculli said:
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, just don't expect everyone else to share it.
The notion that this place is not any better off isn't mere "opinion." It's verifiable fact. Look at the acidic pockmarks scarring every little corner of the forum, today: the fact that this place is in worse shape than it was BEFORE the change cannot be argued by anyone with even a fleeting respect for the truth. There's been no "improvement" in attitudes towards each other. Ill will towards our fellow humans has not been stamped out. As history has repeatedly demonstrated, time and again, an attempt to force the hand of "niceness" will inevitably backfire.

Sculli said:
Solitia said:
There is something very wrong with this board.
It would be more helpful to be specific as to what is wrong, unless "series of judgement calls" is as far as you are willing to go.

The problem ... what is "wrong" ... is the fact that this grandiose shift in admistrative philosophy took a community that was already in balance and crudely thrust it into chaos. You tore a gigantic cog out of what was a functional machine, you gouged away a chunk of what your project was ... and left little to nothing to fill the void.

This whole place is sick to its stomach. It's nauseous. It was shifted around, forcibly, with little warning, and was turned on its head. It is out of balance.

If you can't sense that, if you honestly can't perceive the overall feeling of "not quite right" that's settled into every cranny of the community ... well, your obsession with your view of how things "should be" is truly clouding your capacity to see things as they ARE.

The sickness that has taken root here will never go away, the community will never "get well," until something is provided to fill the void of what was taken away. You've got to balance things again. Even if you took strong actions to do this now ... and I mean, RIGHT NOW ... I'm not sure it would work. The seeds of these grudges have been sown.

Sneakypants said:
The only reason this didn't work as planned, so to speak, is because you are trying to accomplish it like a person would feed a cat a pill....You hold its skull firmly in one hand, pulling it upwards, so the consumption of the pill will be aided by gravity. The cat squirms, but you show it who is boss, and continue holding it's jaw bones with unflinching force. Then, prying open its mouth with a finger, the pill is literally pushed right down its throat.

As someone who has had the misfortune of needing to administer oral medicine to a cat, I can only applaud the appropriateness of this analogy.

You've said it yourself, Sculli. You literally would rather QCDN be a forum of one member ... yourself ... you'd literally rather see it torn to the ground ... then have it be anything less than your vision of what you think it "should" be.

I'm happy that you've had a personal epiphany regarding human relationships. Congratulations. One can only wonder, however, if you find it the slightest bit ironic that your attempts to force the same "medicine" on the rest of us has yielded little but overall feelings of hurt, betrayal, and bitter enmity.

Already, in this thread, on this particular issue, one can see some of those that were once entirely gungh-ho about the new "standards" doubting the extent to which they should be taken. Not all, but some. I won't name names: it should obvious. Some of them are those that literally went over to QCNN to bitterly hound the patrons there (with seemingly no grasp of the irony of such behavior) over their decision to pursue alternatives. To them, I say ... the way you feel about this, is the way we felt about that original fight. The line was just drawn in a different place for you ... now it's been crossed. Do you understand now, my friends?

Keep on like this, and the sky really will come crashing down on this community. It is no longer functioning as it should. It's tearing itself apart. You'd rather see it die than go on as it was? That may be exactly what's going to happen, unless you swallow your pride, and back off ... at least a little.

It would also be helpful to suggest a solution, unless heading elsewhere is the only solution you were able to come up with.
I can't even count how many times this has been pointed out, but it's confusing when you repeatedly demand specific suggestions, and yet turn around and make it clear that you're going to do whatever you feel you should do anyway. It's double-speak that turns one's mind in circles.

If you're serious about it, I'll mention something very specific. When you were first beginning to phase out the Flameboard, you had a new forum that was twin to the "Neighborhood Watch," which you were calling the "Vanadiel Debate Society." I understand that you felt that true, legitimate debate should be acceptable in General Discussion, Off-Topic, Reality Sinks In, wherever ... but the truth of the matter is, passions will run high in anything anyone cares about enough to argue extensively over. Cubswoo was quite right when he said you need to provide a place where people can be passionate about something, without being insulting.

You've got to provide a central place to draw it, or it'll seep out everywhere else, and it WILL get nasty. It'll get nasty no matter what, but you can contain it and lessen it if you focus it in one place.

Not implementing the "Debate Society" forum was one of the biggest mistakes, after removing the Flameboard (the number one mistake). As it's been made clear that the number one mistake won't be rectified, let alone addressed, re-introducing that forum would be the first order of business.

Getting rid of this nasty tendency to punish, then remove all records of what one was punished for, would be second. It should be on record, if for no other reason than to show others what will or will not be tolerated. The "we want people to take responsibility for their own posts" and "I don't want a lot of people posting about my decisions" excuses just don't fly ... it's extremely difficult to not cross a line that's never had a solid position demonstrated via example, and you've made it abundantly clear that your skin is thick enough to endure all manner of criticisms regarding your administrative decisions.

Those are MY suggestions. They are but part of what I personally feel is "wrong," but they are big parts.

OK... I've read through all these pages and pages of the same type of thing being said. It all boils down to this: Sculli, you talk about wanting to make a better environment, a more friendly and positive atmosphere. I have a solution for you. Personal accountability. Maybe if people keep in mind that words have power and that they can be copied and pasted and repeated and talked about for ages after, they will use some restraint and intelligence when posting. The time to think about what is coming out of your mouth is not after you've said something, but beforehand. I do think Mokk hit the nail right on the head. If you don't want to be held accountable for the garbage you spout... if you don't want to be taken to task, or risk being ridiculed or quoted, it's simple... don't post. There's an old quote somewhere that says don't post anything on the internet or send anything in an e-mail that you wouldn't want posted in the New York Times. Things you say can come back to haunt you. It's life. Be a grown up and deal with it. Learn from your mistakes.

I don't quote people in my sig. But one thing you can be damned sure of is that if someone quoted me in theirs, like it or not, I'd own it. People who say things as carelessly as Windaria/Shaidalyn/whoever are the problem with these forums... not the people who quote them.

And Hitler, of course, has nothing to do with Nazi's. If you want to say that I admin the "my way or the highway" way, just do it. That way I will know exactly what you mean, and I don't have to second guess whether you are referring to dictators or movements.

masterorion said:

I do remember that issue now. I did split your post from a thread on the FB, and that made it appear as if you had started the thread. I then left a note in the first post, that you didn't start the thread, but that I split it off of another thread. I also edited the title to reflect that you didn't start the thread. In the end I copied that thread into the original one or something like that causing a mess that was simply not to fix anymore and the whole thing got deleted (original thread and split thread). The reason why it wasn't deleted was that you did bring in an incest reference in response to someone who had a different opinion from your's and that per FB policy "what's said is said" applied and I didn't feel like essentially letting you delete what you had previously said about things. I am sure you still have the PMs that explain that, since you saved your other one. If not, PM me and I will be glad to forward them to you.

Winklewil said:

Yes, the old FB isn't coming back, it's not a matter of pride, it's a matter of conviction. Other than that, there are few things set in stone as far as policy goes, this thread should really be evidence of just that.

Winklewil said:

I am not sure how any more clear I can be on this. The old FB isn't coming back.

Not following through with the originally intended debate forum may have been a mistake, whether it really was is something we will find out when it is actually created (expect that on late Sunday). What exactly does "passionate, but not insulting" mean? And how is it that such threads or posts have no place in the forums that are made for the topics they discuss? I am really just asking in an attempt to understand what you are saying. It sounds like a post in General Discussions can not be passionate, but it could be in the Debate Forum. What's the difference between the two forums?

Winklewil said:

As previously stated, that already came out of What is wrong with the QCDN Community Standards? and has been practiced in such a sense that people were notified within the threads in which they made objectionable posts. Centralizing the recordkeeping is something that can be done, expect a new forum for that shortly as well.

Zyndara said:

I do agree that those who create a post should be accountable for it. I think the main point of contention (generally speaking) seems to be under which rules that accountability is practiced.

yes, you did change the name....after i asked you to. i would have rather had them deleted tho. but this isnt a democracy here apparently.

my opinion still stands as to why you are attempting to cut all of what qcdn was known for. and that being for sponsors. its been mentioned by you many times that you couldnt get sponsors because of the flameboard and cursing. what happened next? FB dissappeared and cursing is an offense. not that there is anything wrong with trying to make the site free for all parties involved, but if thats the case, just say it. its quite the coincidence that these two things are coinciding

So it's time I post this again.

"I love words. I thank you for hearing my words. I want to tell you something about words that I uh, I think is important. I love..as I say, they're my work, they're my play, they're my passion. Words are all we have really.

We have thoughts, but thoughts are fluid. You know. And, then we assign a word to a thought. And we're stuck with that word for that thought. So be careful with words. I like to think, yeah, the same words that hurt can heal. It's a matter of how you pick them.

There are some people that aren't into all the words. There are some people who would have you not use certain words. Yeah, there are 400,000 words in the English language, and there are seven of them that you can't say on television. What a ratio that is. 399,993 to seven. They must really be bad. They'd have to be outrageous, to be separated from a group that large. All of you over here, you seven. Bad words. That's what they told us they were, remember? 'That's a bad word.' 'Awwww.' There are no bad words. Bad thoughts. Bad Intentions.

And words, you know the seven don't you? Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits, huh? Those are the heavy seven. Those are the ones that will infect your soul, curve your spine and keep the country from winning the war.

Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits, wow. Tits doesn't even belong on the list, you know. It's such a friendly sounding word. It sounds like a nickname. 'Hey, Tits, come here. Tits, meet Toots, Toots, Tits, Tits, Toots.' It sounds like a snack doesn't it? Yes, I know, it is, right. But I don't mean the sexist snack, I mean, New Nabisco Tits. The new Cheese Tits, and Corn Tits and Pizza Tits, Sesame Tits Onion Tits, Tater Tits, Yeah. Betcha can't eat just one. That's true I usually switch off . But I mean that word does not belong on the list.

Actually, none of the words belong on the list, but you can understand why some of them are there. I am not completely insensitive to people's feelings. You know, I can dig why some of those words got on the list...like cocksucker and motherfucker. Those are...those are heavy-weight words. There's a lot going on there, man. Besides the literal translation and the emotional feeling. They're just busy words. There's a lot of syllables to contend with. And those K's. Those are aggressive sounds, they jump out at you. CocksuckerMotherfuckerCocksucker. It's like an assault, on you. So I can dig that.

And we mentioned shit earlier, of course. Two of the other 4-letter Anglo-Saxon words are Piss and Cunt, which go together of course. But forget about that. A little accidental humor there. Piss and Cunt. The reason Piss and Cunt are on the list is that a long time ago certain ladies said 'Those are the two I am not going to say. I don't mind Fuck and Shit, but P and C are out. P and C are out.' Which led to such stupid sentences as 'OK, you fuckers, I am going to tinkle now.'

And of course the word Fuck. The word Fuck, I don't really...well, this is some more accidental humor, but I don't really want to get into that now. Because I think it takes too long. But I do mean that. I mean, I think the word fuck is an important word. It's the beginning of life, and, yet it's a word we use to hurt one other, quite often. And uh, people much wiser than I have said, I'd rather have my son watch a film with two people making love than two people trying to kill one other. And I of course agree. I wish I know who said it first, and I agree with that. But I would like to take it a step further. I would like to substitute the word fuck, for the word kill in all those movie cliches we grew up with. 'Okay Sheriff, we're gonna fuck ya now. But we're gonna fuck ya slow.' So maybe next year I'll have a whole fuckin' rap on that word. I hope so.

Uh, there are two-way words, but those are the seven you can never say on television. Under any circumstances you just can not say them ever, ever ever, not even clinically. You can not weave them in the panel with Doc and Ed and Johnny, I mean it's just impossible, forget those seven, they're out.

But, there are some two-way words. There are double-meaning words. Remember the ones your giggled at in sixth grade? 'And the cock crowed three times.''Hey, the cock the cock crowed three times. It's in the bible.' There are some Two-way words, like it's okay for Curt Gowdy to say 'Roberto Clemente has two balls on him.' But he can't say, 'I think he hurt his balls on that play Tony, don't you? He's holding them. He must have hurt them by God.' And the other two-way word that goes with that one is prick. It's okay if it happens to your finger. Yes, you can prick your finger, but don't finger your prick. No, no."

No wonder I rarely post here, yeesh.

When someone says, writes or types something it is fair game. This is how it works in every apsect of life, except here evidently.

QCDN sure has changed over the last few months, and non for the better as far as I'm concerned.

jesus christ, how more kid gloves could you possibly get? I honestly can't see the logic behind catering to somebody who whined about their own fuck up....the squeaky wheel gets the grease i guess. it just makes no sense. Mokk was spot on w/ his statement.

This is laughable, if you don't want to be quoted as saying something stupid on the internet do yourself the favor of shutting up in the first place.
"I said something stupid and somebody quoted it and i got offended, somebody cry for me and do something about it" wtf is that about, because that's what this situation boils down to. i honestly hate this new sentament, "i'm offended i'm offended" so the fuck what since when was "nuuaaaa my pussy hurts" something that people cared about, PC ruins everything it touchs. i'm sick and tired of all this bullshit, and it's not just here on QCDN i deal with this shit every day in the real world. It's gotten to the point where you can't do, or say, or joke about, or do anything remotely extroverted that is at the expence of somebody else. Because if you do that somebody in question is gonna piss and moan and cry "HE HURT MY FEELINGS" and you're gonna busted for it.

Your feelings aren't protected by any law or any constitutional right or anything like that, in the words of Carlos Mencia, "If your pussy hurts get some vagisil"

I'm not so sure you mean this... I mean, this board didn't change one bit until you started getting sponsors and things like that. I don't think it's a matter of conviction, I think it's a matter of pocketbook. Why else would a non-player choose to continue putting his/her time and effort into it? You have said before, money has nothing to do with anything here. If that's the case, why wasn't their change before sponsors or any other money system? Coencidence maybe? You claim this is all some part of self-change from taking a HR class yet it seems they didn't teach you something, in there, others learn, in the same course, or maybe you just snoozed right through it. People need places to vent, always. It's human nature to need to vent. It's unhealthy to the workplace, community, and individual to hold it in. You took that away for what appears to be a few really weak reasons. All of the reasons either point to hypocrisy or money.

Another point, real quick, I'd like to bring to your attention. If you change why should we? You're being like those hypocritical religonist that think their way is the only way. Alas, it is your board to run how you see fit and if you want to destroy it, it is your call but a word of advice... You'd get more money putting the site back the way it was than loosing the site or a boatload of membership traffic. Sponsors do not sponsor empty boards or low traffic ones either. Eventually, knowing you will most likely continue on your path until you have pissed every last one of us off, you're going to cause that.

I do have to point out some Irony Sculli,

This quote that spawned all of this jazz came from a no rules flameboard with nothing allowed to be changed granted from a different site, but in the same respect the thread master's referring to you didn't make it clear until after his PMs but refused to change it. If you refused to change something someone wrote then after you split a thread, why didn't refuse this one since it was written in the same type of environment?

PC is evil and that's where this board seems to be headed.. it's why I don't post here a lot anymore except for event scheduling.. and even that rarely seems to work.

Also as far as Masterorion's goes, you can pull up a post(least I am familiar with doing it in phpbb and older versions of vbulletin) after it's split and add in an extra post at the beginning of the split post and make note that it was indeed a split post without changing titles.

but you didnt want to delete it for whatever reason.
He started off a sentence with, "Jesus H. Christ..."
That could offend many Christians on this board.

Was wondering who was going to be the first to point this out.

Will people be receptive to your methods in the future? No.
Remind me to never get on your bad side. If you honestly believe that one mistake (in your eyes, not necessarily everyone else's) instantly removes all future credibility from someone, then you have a really bleak look on life.

I'm still waiting for these changes to pan out before I pass off any kind of final judgement. The fact that this topic exists and that Sculli's participating proves that the new rules aren't set in stone. Instead of saying "I refuse to care about anything you do in the future" and yet still continue to bitch and moan, you should either work towards influencing future changes to the rules or well, just shut up since you aren't receptive anyway.

The simple truth is, the details of this particular conflict ... Shaidalyn's quote, Eulore's sig, all of that nonsense ... means nothing. It's a veil for either side, a beard, an EXCUSE, to engage each other again over something else.
No. The word you are looking for is "catalyst". There was indeed a problem, and Sculli's fixing of the problem is what sparked this debate. The people who are complaining that there was never any clear-cut rule that said you couldn't quote people against their wishes... do you have someone hold your hand throughout your daily lives? Do you need someone to tell you that you're supposed to swallow your food after you chew it a while?

Most message board admins assume coming in that their users have some sort of understanding about what is right and what is wrong. Is the fact that there currently is no rule against posting the first 6 chapter of War and Peace in every post they make a reason for someone to go and do it? Of course not, because most sane people know that no one in their right mind would want to see that.

I think, and don't quote me here, that Neighborhood Watch was supposed to replace the Flameboard. The problem is that NO ONE WHATEVER knows what the hell NW even IS. There have been topics about it and even moderators seem to disagree with what does and doesn't belong there. If NW actually had become a "cleaner" version of the FB, I don't think we'd be having as many problems as we do now. As it currently stands, 2/3 of the new topics that get posted on NW get locked because they aren't "NW material". So seriously, what on earth IS "NW material"?

Not implementing the "Debate Society" forum was one of the biggest mistakes, after removing the Flameboard (the number one mistake). As it's been made clear that the number one mistake won't be rectified, let alone addressed, re-introducing that forum would be the first order of business.
This is probably right and wrong. A forum for more "heated" discussion separate from the other boards would be a good thing. If it just became "Flameboard 2" where instead of "heated" discussion we just have people insulting each other, then it's not a Debate Society at all. But then again, Sculli said the board is coming so hopefully we'll see it used in some manner that appeases the masses yet doesn't create another cesspool of insulting other users.

There is never anytime EVER where you can compare anything as simple as a message board to anything that Hitler did accurately or legitimately. You just come off sounding like every other hothead on the Internet who can't come up with anything original to say. Look up Godwin's Law on wikipedia or elsewhere. Countless good arguments are pretty much considered "finished" when it gets down to the point where nothing's left to do but draw comparisons to the Nazis.

FB dissappeared and cursing is an offense.
Er, have you been reading this thread at all? It's littered with profanity. It's not that cursing is prohibited, it's when you start referring to someone else using profanity, like calling someone a "fucking moron" for example. Just saying "Ugh, today was fucking terrible" isn't going to get you in trouble most likely.

Your feelings aren't protected by any law or any constitutional right or anything like that, in the words of Carlos Mencia, "If your pussy hurts get some vagisil"
This applies to the real world. You however are on the Internet, and more particularly, you are on a privately owned forum. Thus everything is protected by however by the owners of the forum and whatever rules they may decide to put for their forum.

:Edit: there's an edit button on every single board on this forum now...if you said something stupid that you don't like FIX IT
Actually if you want to go there, the forum where the quote was taken (qcnn flameboard) from does NOT have an edit button. So if she considered what she said to be "stupid" then no, she couldn't remove it. It's there for good.

This was taken from a PRIVATE message. It was shared publicly. If the target of the PRIVATE message was offended, he showed no signs of it when reposting the PRIVATE message publicly.

Does it really matter if the target of the message was offended?
It was shared publicly, therefore, it could be offensive to anyone on this board.

Yes, it matters. What someone says to someone else privately never takes into consideration how the "many" board members would react to it because they are never supposed to even see it. If I'm talking to someone privately, I'm not necessarily going to use the same decorum or manners that I would use on a public forum. If someone then takes what I said privately and posts it publicly, then that is not my fault whatsoever if people take offense to it. It's [the person who posted it]'s fault for taking my private message and posting it.

You in particular call him out for trying to offend "many christians" when his original audience was one person. This is false.
