There is a difference between giving in, and accepting reality. When you graduated from gradeschool and no longer have all the toys and naptime and juice breaks, it wasn't "Giving in." It was growing up and accepting the reality that things wont be that way again.

What people are being asked to do is accept the changes made for what they were meant to be. It doesn't mean you're giving anything up in the process, but merely accepting the reality that things aren't like they once were.

An amusing note on your example though: If England hadn't "Given In" there would be no United States as they are now either.

There are always 2 sides. I agree the sig thing is kinda silly and I think if someone publically humilates themselves, the best way not to call attention to it would be to not dmand/request its removal. Now not only did windaria suffer for her words, but eulore and a few others have as well. Sorry if I'm not much for Martyrdom, but the whole thing seems really silly to me. Too many hotheads involved.
 
Eulore makes me laugh out loud. The sig's made me laugh out loud. Shaid makes me laugh the fock out loud, but if she's slitting her wrists over this..

Then its more than fine to have it taken down.

In the spirit of Goodwin's law the Nazi dictatorship has finally gone too far for my liking i decided to change my sig so that i will get banned as well so i will never have the urge to post on this circle jerk of a website again.

On a personal note you took something that was fun and entertaining about a game that you dont even fucking play and turned it into something that Stewart Smalley could be proud about.

One day hopefully you'll pull your head out of your ass and see the light that you personally ruined one of the best FFXi communities on any server.

For everyone else it used to be fun here now it sucks and just for clarification its not the people but its the leadership.

If this post was not enough to get me banned.... Sculli Fuck you and check my sig. (i believe this quote was the problem).

If she's slitting her wrists over this then she needs to step away from the friggin keyboard and get a real fast grip on REALITY. If someone can't laugh at something stupid they've said, or at the very least get over it, then they have some real special mental issues to overcome. And seeing that this isn't a mental health support group, I think this kind of sig-nerfing is really kind of foolish. And unfortunately I think it's a bit more censorship when it really isn't warranted. Shaid/Wind is now read-only. Which should give you an idea about the quality of his/her posts. If she/he got quoted for stupidity then I say so be it. If I can go back and dig up his/her posts by searching for it, then Eulore's sig shouldn't have been nerfed and all this is stupendously hypocritical. Don't want to be quoted, don't post. That simple.

I've been wondering... if the quote didn't come from a post, where did it actually come from?

To Eulore: Ya should have just left well enough alone. Make sculli remove the quote and stop posting. There was no need to change all your posts.

To Sculli: Eulore was an asset to your site. As are many of the people that are disagreeing with you. You made Eulore feel like he had to do something drastic to get his point across. You caused this, not him. With something so simple as making someone remove a quote from their signature, you have alienated even more of your user base. QCDN is yours, this is true, but it is nothing without us.

I'm really having a problem understanding why it's such a big deal that you felt like you had to ask him to remove it in the first place. So as not to offend with her own words? Someone that is now perma-banned??

i find it ironic that the thread title is somthing QCDN will never have under current direction.

He didn't get his point across, and got himself banned in the process.

I didn't make Eulore edit 123 of his posts to include nothing but the quote I asked him to remove. It was his choice, and his alone. If he was dissatisfied with the decision I made, he could have made a thread about it to discuss it without to act like he did editing his posts.

However, if you still want to believe that I made Eulore do it, then so be it, there is nothing more I can say to convince you otherwise, and I am perfectly content with you believing what you do.
