I viewed the demo video on xbox live and also saw info about it on their website.
Did anyone try this game out?

According to people on their forums, the first episode is now downloadable for play.
From what I can tell its a turn-based RPG that they are pushing out in episodes.

The style of the characters looks a cross between flash-media and your modern day cartoons.

For those not sure what game I'm talking about, here is a link to the website:

Anyone play the actual game?
Is it worth a buy? fun?
Any reviews?

Just started playing the demo, but gotta give Hothead credit on the character creation, since it theres also animated counterparts for the flash-style segments, and it matches what you've chosen to a T.

Combat plays out similiarly to Super Mario RPG, in that you can block attacks if timed right. If timed exactly, you can even counter attack. However, it's not exactly turn based, it uses an ATB style system.

You can do team work attacks if 2 or more of the characters have their special ability meter full.

The only real downside is it doesn't automatically bring up the ability to attack with any character waiting, you have to manually select them and then use their attack.

it's pretty fun :P they have a windows, linux, and mac download too. Give it a try and see if it's your cup of tea.

Funny as hell, definitely going to buy this.

Cool. Thanks for the info guys.
I got a chance to play the demo last night, and had fun with it too.

The peeing robots took me by surprise...lol - I could not help but to laugh.
I dare you guys to throw an orange at one if you haven't yet. That is all. :-)

The only quirk of the game that gets to me is the text size.
Its small, if not smaller than Lost Odyssey's text.
I think I'm just going to need to acquire a new tv with a larger screen to help that.

I know this is off topic, but anyone own a Samsung LCD HDTV?
I've been eyeing one of those for the longest now.
Is it any good, or would you guys recommend something better?
I'd mainly like to use it for gaming and occassionally watch something good on tv.

Back to the game, overall, I think I'll end up downloading the full version.

You almost can't play Lost Odyssey on anything less than a 20" 480p TV. It sucks.

Based on the demo, this game sucks hard. It's one of the most glitchy things I've ever played, the humor is as lame as the comic, and the gameplay pretty much has nothing redeeming about it.

I have no idea why anyone likes this. Considering these two assholes spend their entire lives bitching about video games for a fucking living, you'd think they could make one that's not more god awful than every other game they'd talked about - and then to sweeten the deal, overcharge for it.

Well yeah, if you hate Penny Arcade, you're going to hate the game. And you're going to completely nitpick things you would let go in an atmosphere that you liked.

I personally loved it. I felt the price is a little high, but not so much that I feel ripped off for getting it.

Uh, what glitches? The game is pretty damn glitch free.
He probably just couldn't figure it out, so it's the game's fault(as usual). I didn't notice a single glitch in the entire game, not even graphical bugs.

When I play RPGs I go to every corner of the map pretty much looking for items. It's easy to get your character stuck in the environment by going into a corner you can't get out of. Also the camera getting moved based on the script won't always keep you on the screen. I had to make my way back on screen, through the environment, not being on screen.

That didn't happen to me at all, and I searched all over the game. The only thing I didn't find was the last fruit fucker on the Pier, the only mob left in the game.

Well it happened to me all within the context of the short demo. Which made the game buggy to me. The gameplay and humor is my opinion, but when coupled with the price tag and bugs I encountered, it makes a powerfully bad game for me.
