People who afk in front of Mog Houses (def whitegate)...

I'm gonna send SE some feedback about this. The unreasonable lag is getting old now. Stop AFK/Bazaar at MH, and GTFO to downs, or Suspension ftw! Ok, maybe not suspension, but that's how i feel heh :).

I personally agree. I have no idea why idiots moved from Batallia to Aht Urghan when the point of Batallia was to escape the horrible tax rate anyhow.

Not contacting GMs, I'm using the feedback service. Which I believe is somewhere on PoL. Found this out when I reported sellers.

Btw, GMs have the ability to move people if need to so contacting GMs might be a way. I know this, because one moved people blocking the way to the AH a few months back. Ask Zoolander for teh pics.

How long has it been since you played, and were you even around when ToAU came out? 1 extra second my ass. I zone into mog from whitegate and it takes 15 seconds at least before my moogle pops and I have the option of opening my mog safe/locker. About 15 seconds after that the items in my safe/locker/inv actually load up so I can move stuff around. If the zone is packed I will fail at every attempt to get stuff from my delivery box, and only be able to retry to open it every 20 seconds or so.

oh yeah i was just kinda exatteratting, it was delayed..but it didn't really bug me.

In terms of people being D2ed and died then auto HPed, yeah I can believe that. But it doesn't explain the 53273782134 other people not standing on the pile of those people that are not moving.

Now I know why most the time when enter that MH I started d/cing -.-, should MH be the least lag area? Lol

Should not...I fuggen repeat, SHOULD NOT have to go to an entire new zone just to access my MH. IMO, it's crazy how you have to wait like zomg 10 minutes just to get stuff out of my delivery box, because of dumb people who likes to afk, and lag people out so much that you get the "Your connection is failing" message.

Go get your pacifier, you'll be alright.

I actually find this topic funny...

because I have amish internet service at school...(I have yet to find the horse generator)...my internet is utterly disgusting

however...in whitegate, my Sending and Receiving is woooooooonderful

please, explain this phenomena to me? I'm guessing that the server allows for more traffic to go on in this area, thus helping with the whitegate lag. But the simple fact is, I'll zone into Al Zahbi, and my connection will go from S 130 R 1337,

to S 25 R 100

I love my school >.>

The main problem with Aht Urghan vs. Jeuno as i see it is the number of zones it encompasses. in Jeuno you have 4 zones and though lower jeuno was the most popular, there was always a fair number of people split into the other 3 jeuno zones to access MH/AH etc. Few bother with Al zabi for lack of NPCs due to besieged or because of besieged itself, so Aht Urghan population is all crammed into whitegate and i have often seen 300~500 people in Whitegate, whereas lower jeuno, i don't remember there ever being much more than 300 people in that one zone. And as for MH loading problems... SE should really make MHs separate zones from where you enter them from to split up the traffic. My solution: have SE create a new Aht Urghan area in the royal city closer to the palace (a place for those who have gotten past like ToAU mission 27 to go with access to some special facilities providing incentive to go there instead of whitegate.)

Having a high receive rate generally isn't a good thing. =\

FFXI zones really aren't meant to hold more than maybe 400 PCs/NPCs. This is actually way Dynamis-Jeuno, Beauc and Xarc can sometimes give mystery lags for people, as those are the most crowded zones in terms of monsters. And invasions themselves are just brutal, since you can take up to ten minutes just to get a General you're standing right by to load, and by that time they could already have been killed.

The number of spots a person can zone out to doesn't terribly matter, each one of those zones is just another NPC script that puts player from point (a) to (b). The problem for the most part is in fact the several dozen afk at the MH, but also a few more dozen afk at the AH as well. I'd say at least 1/3 of the zone's populous at any given time is from people afking at these two spots alone.

Maybe SE should implement a "bazaaring" status (sortof like /away) that disables the auto-disconnect feature, and if you don't have it / your bazaar is empty, it disconnects you after 20 minutes. I know this wouldn't stop some people from getting booted but it would at the very least remove a decent amount of the people who're just causing lag.

well if bazaaring status is the only thing keeping people from disconnecting in parts of major cities...then uhh, what's to keep people from putting random things in their bazaar just to stay online ;)

I hate it when people MT. Like WTF. Fucking assholes man.

Person MT'ed to me the other day on an airship, he was talking about a "mis-erection" or some crap. =P

Absolutely nothing. But few people intentionally stay online and sit around afk for hours on end just for the sake of doing so. As I said, it wouldn't remove ALL the people who afk at the MH/AH, but it'd still remove a decent amount of them.

I dunno, I just find it odd that people "unintentionally" go afk. Every time I have done so, was to avoid logging out, and logging back in again. I mean, what I'm trying to say is, I really haven't seen anyone that goes "oops, I left my game on for 2 days!"

just seems a little weird to me I suppose, but hey that's me :)

move pay taru to the center of whitegate, near the hp crystal. then split whitegate right up the middle. westside holding the MH and AH, and the various guilds and npc's there... while eastside holding the docks, merc office, portals and pay taru.

i think it would cause less of this MH lag that is annoying, and would encourage peopel to set thier hp's to east whitegate to avoid double zones when having to pay taru warp.

Well...it kinda is SE's fault. They made a zone where up to 700 people can and will be in. You can get to your home nation from it or Jeuno. You got access to runic portal.

People will be in that zone because it has everything a player needs. Se should have made it like Jeuno and split it into 4 zones to reduce lag. thus it is SE's fault.
