If you can't afford oils and powders don't xp then. If someone came to the party and started asking for food because they couldn't afford it you wouldn't accept it so why with oils and powders. If you can't be arsed getting oils and powders or don't want to spend the gil on them then as far as i'm concerned I don't want to pt with you. You're obviously too lazy to put any effort in.

food and powders are 2 totally different things. Powders and Oils can be replaced with 2 spells. Where food if you dont have your scrub.

Both show how much effort you will put in to the small things, if a party cannot trust you with something as small and trivial as that why should they trust you will perform good?

I personally like to play with people who know proper english. And I am not a mage so i don't know what the deal is on the sneak/invis. Me, i always have pots and 2stacks of food. I am just saying most people don't want to waste money when they could get it for free.

That was not about me. I have plenty of gil to buy pots. I am just saying most people dont want to farm just for pots when they can get it for free from any mage

By this logic mages should require a RDM, BRD, or COR be in party. Refreshing drinks, Yag drinks in particular, are just too expensive to be expected to buy for any reason when you can get a refresh effect for free from one of these jobs. Who cares if you lose a fight because the mages ran out of mp because a refresher couldn't be found?

By this logic no one should by warp items, Warp Crudgel in particular, because you can get a Warp 2 free from any BLM 40+. Feel free to come up to or send tells to any BLM you see in the zone your in and ask for a D2. Who cares if they're in a party and D2ing you because you were too poor ends up causing downtime for the BLM's party?

By this logic no one should buy echo drops. It's a temporary status effect, and anyone who is WHM or subbed WHM should have access to that spell to dish it out for free. Who cares if it means someone isn't being cured, right?

I don't mind sneak/invis'ing friends, and I don't mind saving the random people I'm traveling with to such and such place a little gil by tossing out a sneak/invis set on them at times. It does bother me when it becomes an obligation and a hinderance to progress towards what ever destination we have in mind. Being able to afford the items needed to get you where you are going and to do your job when you get there is an obligation of everyone. If you are unwilling or unable to fulfill these obligations please remain in the cities where you are safe from the horrible expenses of being indepenant and doing your job. There are things people are expected to buy: Food, medicines, drinks, and items that are transportation related. You shouldn't expect others to make up for your inability to meet these obligations. There's a word for those who behave in such a manner: a leech.

I agree with this. By having the mage sneak/invis, you endanger yourself and the mage that has to invis you.

While I think that it's a good idea to keep a stack of oils and powders handy, there's only one place I frequent that I view it as an absolute must: Sky.

As a mage, I've never much minded sneaking someone through a place with little to no magic aggro. Hell, I've even snuck people through the Cauldron for that matter. What I very much DO mind is people who are apparently clueless on how to tell me it's fading, get in a corner, and cancel it once I'm there.

It's not all that hard to do.

Sure they want to get it for free, just let them mooch off of everyone else the rest of their Final Fantasy 11 gaming experience. I mean if people let them it's ok right? Just because your car lets you drive over the speed limit means it's ok to do so? If you're a cashier and someone over pays you, since they don't realize their mistake it's automatically alright to pocket the extra cash right?

What does proper english have to do with anything I said?

You should have said perform well, not good.

That's true, but it still doesn't even pertain to the topic at hand.

I do that sometimes >.>

on topic I only really ever hand out a sneak/invis at the start of a zone anywhere else you better know how to avoid aggro.

It has nothing to do with mooching. It has to do with saving money. By your logic we dont need ANY mages. Fuck WHM's healing buy Potions you cheap fuck heads

If you can pt for lets say...2hours and you mooched your sneaks and invis, you better be certain i'd be peeved at that. For those 2 hours you could get some cash in some way. Farm, make gil, get the stuff you NEED for a pt, THEN go look for a pt.
Mages are not obligated to sneak/invis you. They can choose to not do that and let you die, or vice-versa they will sneak/invis you partway only.
I hate it when people EXPECT you to do it for them, for example they wait for you at an aggro'ing area right at the zone because they didnt bring any oils or powders.

i am not one to mooch sneak and invis. I use pots. Mainly becuase it is easier. Like you said most people just expect it. If a mage does not mind throwin me a sneak and invis then go ahead it saves me from using 1 of each.

I have a solution, get SE to make Sneak and Inv self-targeting only, lol. Talkng as someone who has lvld mage jobs, as well as melee, it is alot easier to avoid aggro if you are inv'ing and sneaking yourself, rather then waiting on someone else, less timing issues. By the way, comparing this to using hi-pots to heal yourself, is a horrible anology. In a big ls event, should everyone expect the whm's to raise, or should people be prepared with their own RR items. Whm's get invited to parties to cure, not to sneak/inv.

I wasn't directing my ideas to you. If you use pots and stuff more power to you. I was just saying there are some people like the ones i used as an example.

 sowwy i went into defensive stance (lolWoW). I totally agree people need to buy pots. I am saying that people are to lazy to farm for it.
