Kelyon said::wink: sowwy i went into defensive stance (lolWoW). I totally agree people need to buy pots. I am saying that people are to lazy to farm for it.

remove all the "you". It makes me feel as if you talking about me.Blazeoffury said:And I am just stating that if I cannot trust you to take care of something so trivial why should I trust you to properly DD or properly Tank or MB or lead the way to a camp for that matter. If you can't take the time to get gil for the necessities then I can't take the time to party with you.
It's a hypothetical "you". He's fine to use it. You (yes, actually you) are taking it the wrong way.Kelyon said:remove all the "you". It makes me feel as if you talking about me.
Blazeoffury said:That's true, but it still doesn't even pertain to the topic at hand.
Nolan said:I for one always try to carry the proper meds to sneak and invis myself but damn if your a mage you have to understand that the ability to sneak and invis was given to you to be able to help other players, just like your abilities to cure, refresh, raise, buff etc etc. You don't have a problem throwing around cures and buffs in a pt but you have a problem with sneak and invis?... Yes it can be a pain in the ass to have to hold someones hand across a zone by having to sneak and invis them to a exp camp or whatever but ain't that just the same as having to keep the party members alive while exp-ing? yes yes, its all the same its just that curing, refreshing, buffs etc etc help you to get exp whereas sneaking and invising fools doesn't. I hate the standards that we live by in this game.... When i play my mage job i will have no problem casting on fools that don't bring the proper meds.. why? cause its my job to "help" the party plain and simple.
ps. I say fools because if you don't bring meds to sneak and invis yourself, you are a fool, even if there is a mage around.![]()

Yes, I agree that everyone should have a stack of oils and powders with them, but why is it that even in a spot where it's utterly safe, zero risk of aggro, and absolutely no sweat to anyone . . . melee so often still have to beg for a sneak/invis!?
I try not to let this bother me, and personally I never ask(unless I'm in a situation where I'm down to my last couple), but I tend to make a mental note each time it happens.
I mean honestly, a quick sneak/invis at each zone swap in sky could easily save melees several stacks' worth of oils a week.
Personally, I kinda like bringing up the rear. That way if someone goes down I don't have to go back for em. I like it even more when the party sticks together, for mutual support when there's aggro. When we can do that it's a lot better. However, if I'm the only mage, and I'm doing initial sneaks/invisys on the rest of the party, I understand that won't happen. The durations are unpredictable and you just know something's gonna wear on one person before you've gotten to em all. In those situations, everyone having their own oils/powders is a godsend.Raesylil said:And like i said before, once they get sneak/invis'ed they run off without waiting for the mage. So yeah the chances of the mage getting killed a long ways from the rest of the party members is pretty high.
Blazeoffury said:We have covered that at the beginning a first sneak/invis we will gladly do, after that you're on your own.
Firebrand said:lol, having NOT read all the posts, I'll put in my 2 gil worth:
I don't mind sneaking/invis'ing melees at the start of any zone. I do get peeved if people can't use oils/potions if either wears while we're moving through the zone, though. lol, and if a mage is going through a zone like Uleguarand Range and doesn't have their own oils/powders for magic aggro areas, I get a mite peeved at them too!
I really do believe people at a high level should have learned enough to be prepared, not only for what they'll find in camps, but also for what they encounter on the way to/from.
For myself, and even as a whm, I have a standard "kit," made up of specific foods and meds, that I keep on me at all times (it helps to have done the gobbiebag quests), and I replenish them from my mh safe after a party or event. I'll also add stuff to my standard kit if the situation I'm gonna be in calls for it.
My kit is as follows:
12x Poison Potion
12x Echo Drops
12x Silent Oils
12x Prism Powders
4x Yagudo Drinks
Mp/Hmp/whatever food of choice - sufficient to get me through 3 hours, plus reuse in case I die once.
I replenish the "stacked" stuff from an extra stack in my mh safe. When that stack runs out, I get another.
It works out that I'm most always ready to go just by getting signet/sanction. If we're camping the mire I usually bring an extra stack of echos, and I'll adjust for other situations as appropriate.
Dunno if these thoughts are useful or not. Hope they are.
All the best,
Fire
