false alarm about me coming back.... I was s'posed to this week.. but yeah.. I'll just tell you the short story.

My finace' was s'posed to get some money in the mail (10K) and she got it, but since she didn't have a banking account.. her mom put it in the bank for an 11 day hold... on June 6 we were s'posed to get the money.

See... her mom and her... they both have the same name and since it was her own mother... of course she trusted her..

so when we went to the bank. Her mom only gave us 1K telling my fiance' that she thinks that she isn't ready to carry that money yet.

We found out yesterday night that she used up ALL of it.. all except the 1K she gave us.. so we got that. We have no clue on what she used it on.. but thats not the point.

She belittled her own daughter about responsibility just for an excuse so she wouldn't have to explain about her using the money.

That money was s'posed to help me and my finace' move out... for our wedding... a car.. basically everything.

We're still living here... just we don't have any respect for her mom... even if she does pay us back.

so yeah.... for anybody that I got their hopes up... I'm sorry... I won't be on the game... hopefully I can sometime get back on it whenever I can before the 12months are up :(

I'll still be on QCDN reading what people are writing and sometimes replying.

I'm sorry to hear that, I mean doing that to your own daughter that's about as low as it gets. Is stuff like this a common thing in the states, what with this and the story about the mum and the way she treats her son story. It's kind of putting me off moving to the states.

Hope all goes well for you though and everything gets sorted.

What does something that a mother did to her daughter have anything to do with a country as a whole? There are messed up people the world over, the states are no exception. If something like that is what you base choices on then I feel sorry for you.

I'm just saying I hear more storys about stuff like this going on in the States. I mean take QCDN there's been a fair amount of stories like this floating around. I'm yet to here one over here from friends, messageboards and the like. I know it goes on all over it's just I seem to hear about them a lot more often in the States than anywhere else.

its true that you might hear stories like this from anywhere.. but thats cause it pisses them off... like me for example. What her mom did is just too low... naah.. I can't even kneel down and see it.. its below the ground..

but anyways.. nobody is gonna come online and talk about how they opened the door for some people, helped an old lady cross the street, etc.

Unless there is a purpose... like FFXI on QCDN and posting about how much help they got from somebody... then theres nothing.

If anybody remembers the flameboard.. look at how many hits that thing got compared to Good Times.

Not to mention, 95% of the users here are american, so ofcourse the US whine to Other Country whine ratio is going to be a little illbalanced.

That really... really sucks... I am sorry that you and your fiancee will have to delay everything because of this. :(

Losing FFXI is only a minor thing, which I'm sure you realize, but man, to be done over by her own mother like that? What a bitch.

I feel really sorry for you, I actually know how it feels, to a degree. It's a long story I won't bore you with, the point is that that was extremely unresponsible of that mother, and honestly I'd more then simply lose respect.. but that me, some people have a hard time seeing their parents as the bad people they are. (If they are bad people.)

You probably hear about it more often in the states because it's more of an uncommon thing in the states. Anyways, if you want some gruesome stories, take a few posted a while back on qcdn.

The one about the korean guy who died playing starcraft, he didn't eat and neglected his begging his wife who wanted him to return home and get some rest and eat. He died in a cafe while playing starcraft, pretty pathetic.

In japan, and get this this actually involves FFXI if I remember correctly, a guy and gal where playing FFXI on the same account, and they eventually broke up. The gal was pissed, so she deleted his character in revenge. And the guy.. well he was pissed too, but instead of deleting anything, he killed her.

There are horrible people the world over, isolating any particular area is just plain stupid. Humans are horribles creatures weither you want to believe it or not, the fact that we -need- to impose rules/laws and harsh reprocussions is an excellant example.

Besides, america is a big place, and we're one of the few countries where 99.9% of the population has easy access to the internet. Makes sense to me if you randomly stick your hand into the bag of marbles, you're most likely to grab the type of marble with the greatest number of its kind in the bag.. >>

Why not just open her own account?
Off topic... she had her character on his account and I guess she didn't wanna do all the "work" again.

anyways... me and my girl are pissed at her mom...

we found out that her mom used it for her grandmothers funeral.. seems like a greedy thing that we're pissed off.. but somebody else in the family was gonna pay for it but my fiance's mom told the family member that she'll do it... with my girls money without even asking if it was ok..

she used it to pay for her own bills... then shes used it for stuff for herself...

she better be fucking giving us money to go to Disneyland!

What did she get $10,000 for? That could explain some of her mothers actions.

And I think Flamey was asking why your fiance didn't open her own "bank account." ?

I would assume you're both adults since you're getting married... so that would seem to be the logical thing to do. You could have made a down payment on a house with that.

hire the mob to "deal" with the mother D: or call the cops.. I dunno.. but that mother needs to pay >.>

You could so take her to small claims court over this and sue her ass.

Im most states $10,000 is over the limit for small claims court. When you add on court fee's and legal fee's they would be luck to even see 50% of that. some states will allow you to have a judge add on to the settlement all those fee's you accrew. Best bet would be to talk to a lawyer first. Was there any writen documintation of this? And since they both have the same name... It maybe very hard to prove who the check was really for.

Me, my father, and grandfather all have the same name. Only differance is I always address myself as "III" at the end of my name.

Life lesson learned the hard way. Never entrust third parties with your money. Everybody wants a peice of your pie, everyone. Ya should have just opened your own account. Checks of that size aren't going to be available for immediate use unless you have a balance in your bank greater than the ammount of the check, and even then there's usually a verification period of some form. I'd suggest taking your remaining 1k and opening an account at US Bank. Best bank in California imo.

mob.... cops....... i think here it is safer with the mob then the cops XD

The money was for her when she turned 18. She was recieving it cause her father died in an car accident. Some truck driver was high or something... I don't really ask her about how it all happened... ya know.

Anyways... Her mom devoriced(sp?) her dad long time ago... Shes actually going on her 3rd marriage.

All her other sisters recieved money... about 17K. When she got her money, she was screwed over by the insurance people by getting 10K..

Then she was screwed over by her mom with the money.

Do this. Hopefully it'll work. Sorry to hear about it though, I'd kill her if she did that to me. Even if she was my own mom.
