PlayOnline Server Replacement

I got a feeling that SE is replacing a new Server hardware/Software that detect 3rd Party Tools user, that is why they doing this replacement

This is my rumor so, you guys better watch out, don't use any Windower or Flee hacking tool for at least a few days  who knows what they added on their new server

vand stop making topic before i tie you up :spiteful:

I think it literaly means they're replacing a server.

Yeah, Hardware gets outdated. Servers become taxed over time, always being on and what not, causing issues to crop up. Whats that mean? Gotta upgrade/replace the hardware.

ya they secretly install a new software that detect 3rd pt tools and organized record of RMT

SE won't tell you that they will install something like this, they hide so GM can catch you without you noticing

2 Hours later a new windower is out that can beat SEs detecter =D

They could do that without touching the hardware.

Well lets hope there is no "ninja software" SE is hiding from us and hope they reduce lag during Besieged or during a heavily lag event

every major update (every 2 months or so on average?), SE replaces their hardware. If they were just realeasing a new version update, they wouldn't have to shut down the servers for 5 hours. They've released small, minor fixes quite often without making a server maintaince.

Whenever they do things like this, they update their hardware. With their servers being on 24/7, with around 3k people at any given time accessing data on it, things grow old fast. They need to be replaced in order to not have any data loss, and for things to run smooth.

While yes, they could add a detection tool while they're at it, like Stouter said before, they could do it without a server maintaince.

I have a feeling that something is being added in addition to the new server. I mean, this is coming just a few days after the announcement of the top-secret covert task force of dooooooooom so they could be related.

They wouldn't be able to add software to detect 3rd party tools without using illegal means, which would cause them even more problems than they have now.

Yeah, they're likely killing two birds with one stone, but I'm sure the main purpose of this maintenance is just to replace old hardware.

Why can't they detect things like flee hacks, warp hacks, etc? I mean in order to do it the hack has to access certain lines within the game code that makes such things possible, right? So shouldn't they be able to track when that code is accessed when it shouldn't be on the server side?

There's nothing special about warp hacks and flee hacks. The client tells the server "Hey, I'm moving to xxx/yyy/zzz, ok?" and the server does it. There's nothing in the game code against players leaping 500 feet into the air in a split-second, so with the aid of a hack that lets them send a packet saying that, they can. It's the result of sloppy coding, not of any hacking server-side.

Only thing i can think that goes into the coding is TOD software when it finds out the last TOD of the mob you want

Yeah, something like that doesn't exist, because they could easily detect an invasive program and it's very illegal. Plus, I highly doubt SE keeps a database to track the ToD of every NM on every server. They don't need the info so there would be no reason whatsoever to store it.
