I have become addicted to cutting. I really need help. You don't have to reply here but please i do need help. I just don't know what to do anymore.

Cutting... yourself? Sorry I am very naive ><

You could stop and seek professional help.

Only person on here that can really help you is yourself.

Thanks for the site Mire. The problem is Ele, after i cut, i feel almost manically happy...

It is a known psychological disorder. It can be caused by numerous things. Putting yourself in control, thinking you deserve to be hurt, liking pain, etc. If it has just come around lately, you may just be really upset about something and it is manifesting itself in this behaviour. Your home life hasn't been too peachy lately no?

I have been going in and out of my mood swings recently. I have no control in my household, i can't make any decisions without going through my dad...

Well then maybe it is a control issue. Your body is something that you control. If you can't talk to your dad about it, maybe talk to your mom?

Just talked to my mom about it. We decided i need to go into individual therapy also on top of the day hospital program that i am doing.

Isn't exactly the best place to bring up this topic... but hope the int/rehab helps you out.

Hey Kelyon, I read the post that you put up a while back about your struggle. Several peeps in my family have been diagnosed with type II Bipolar disorder. It's a very challenging disorder from what I have seen and experienced. Many people are diagnosed with this life changing disorder that have struggled years and years undiagnosed, so the good thing is you are now getting treatment for something that has been mysteriously eating away at ya. I wish and have high hopes for your recovery and for you in the future, hang in there it's a tough disorder but there are meds nowadays that can really help curb some of the highs and lows that you are experiencing. So I guess the main thing is continue getting counseling/therapy and deffinitely seek help for the cutting and try to keep your hopes up for the future. Never forget, suicide is a permanent solution for what's usually a temporary situation, so keep ya chin up! With the right treatment and the right cocktail of meds you will hopefully be feeling much bettter soon. Best wishes and regards. :nyam:

If someone needs to get something off their chest, this is a forum in which to do so. That is where:

Reality Sinks In ... This forums is for real life related posts. If you don't care about the real life of others, don't read it.

Comes from.

I can't really give you any advice on cutting but I can give you some knowledge from experience on the medications and mental disorders.

If they do insist one giving you mood altering medication make sure they know you only want this to be a temporary patch, not a permanent fix. At least from my experience whenever I was given medication for my disorders it only suppressed them for 4-8 hours at a time. They didn't make me feel happy either it was more like being a zombie just walking through the day not caring not feeling any emotions and when it wore off all of the shit from the day hit me all at once and I just felt miserable and tired and didn't want to do anything.

sometime in 2004 I started refusing to take any medication and worked through my problems with nothing but therapy. In a little over a year I had made much, much more progress without medication. But the result of being heavily medicated for 12 years has left my mind permanently damaged. I randomly become confused. My short term memory is spotty and my long term is subject to false memory syndrome.

You are the only person who can help you. Therapists and psychiatrists can tell you whats wrong and how to fix it but ultimately its up to you to solve the problems.

Qcdn is one of the best places I've seen on internet forums for these kinds of things. It's full of down to earth people who may have had similar experiences. If not, they're always there for some advice.

Keylon is already on the right track. He's doing what he needs to be doing and talking to people about it. What ever it is, remember that you are as powerful as you want to be and that when you come out of this, you'll be twice as stronger as a person.

When I was much younger i used to have a problem with this. My boyfriend had a similar problem, except instead of cutting he would take lots of pills that would make him sick.

Eventually he ransomed me out of it by saying every time i did it he would take pills. It made us both stop...we've been apart for a couple years but we both haven't done it for a long time.

You just have to realize how much it hurts other people when you hurt yourself.

Make sure they know you only want this to be a temporary patch, not a permanent fix.

This is also very good advice. Relying on anything but yourself will just make you dependent on it, even if it is just a placebo (which it isn't in your case) people can come to rely on a stimulus.

If you're able to go out Saturday night Kel, I'll come up there and we can go grab some dinner. Y'know, if you need to talk to someone bud. Not that far of a drive anyway, so don't say it'd inconvenience me or something. Either way, it's like jojojo said. It hurts people who care about you; keep that in the forefront of your mind. It may be the internet, but a lot of people here care. At least enough to not want you to get hurt, deal with pain, or have any issues in life like this. I know I feel that way man. I don't know what else to say though as I've never dealt with something like this. But I'm more than willing to listen.
