Rinoah said:I agree partially with what you say. players get jealous of other peoples equipment and want equally good equipment and sometimes buy gil to get it. but i found this incorrect for two reasons. The first is that ranger used to be expected to have really good equipment, but then after the rush of noob rangers (and the huge price inflation of everything) people don't expect rangers to have anything much more than arrows (because that is all too frequently all they do have). I am not saying this applies to all rangers as i know some have worked their asses off getting good equipment, but that is not all of them. The second problem with that is that most people find party members by /sea all. this gives no indication of what their gear is like and i doubt anyone would be petty enough to kick someone for having average gear (maybe completely awful gear but not average). I have found that people (including myself) seem more focused on trying to find people that actually are good at their damn jobs than they are on what they are wearing. good gear is nice but not completely necessary, doing your job well is necessary but people seem to ignore that hoping their "l33t" gear will make up for the fact that they suck.
Thats my 2 cents ^^
To give you a little more prespective. This was said to Meeze, he's like the biggest advocate for leet gear next to Vang.
Not that theres anything wrong with that, just so you know why it was said.
